The girls that come after Yoda, Vader, and Starkiller (Vaders secret apprentice in Star Wars the Force Unleashed video game) are characters that do share the same moveset as others, including finishers. It was done to show that the games story was getting bigger therefore more people are getting involved. However they’re not main characters so they have copied movesets. Also Soulcalibur has my personal favorite story in fighting games so I’d definitely recommend checking the story. Just know that Soulcalibur 5 story is pretty bad compared to the others, and 6 is a reboot that starts back in Soulcalibur 1, but adds some new characters and a new side plot line.
the only complaint I have with 6 is the title, I don't think a reboot/remake of Soulcalibur 1 should be titled Soulcalibur 6 since it doesn't take place after 5

It’s a different kind of world in Japan with women’s roles as they haven’t quite caught up yet. Though women are in the workplace.

One thing the game developers love to do is bring special guests to their games. The one with the decapitation that you loved, Ken, is Yoshimitsu from the Tekken series. He's been a part of the game since before SC2. The special characers for Soul Calibur 2 was based off of what system you played the game. Xbox had Spawn from Marvel, Playstation had Heihachi from the Tekken series....and the Gamecube, which I had, Brought Link from the Zelda sweries. Soul caliber is a very fun franchise, I have always loved weapon fighting over fist fighting, so it always appealed to me a bit more than Tekken. it also stretches the definition of what constitutes a "fighting gear" to it's absolute limit, which is always fun. Link, Ezio from Assasins creed, Spawn from Marvel, and even Geralt of Riviera all have made appearences as guests.

Magic in Soul Calibur; A lot of what you saw in the finishing moves was just artistic flash. Very few characters have actual supernatural abilities. I’ll forget a few but examples of actual supernatural characters and artefacts are mostly tied to the two holy swords from the story; Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. Cervantes (pirate), Nightmare (fire demon) and Siegfried (big blonde sword guy before Nightmare) are all vessels of the magic swords. There’s also Zasalamel (banishing guy) who is immortal and has a little control over time and Talim (girl that says thank you) who is blessed by wind spirits.
If you noticed multiple characters having the same finisher it's because the first few characters after the Star Wars characters are bonus characters who have the same moves as one of the main characters. But because Astaroth and Rock have such similar moves they gave them basically the same finisher(where they drag them around and throw them then make a symbol on the ground) which makes it seem even more redundant when one of the bonus characters copies Astaroth so 3 characters have the same finisher.
The dominatrix is ivy valentine shes a alchemist an adventurer, the first set of characters are re-skins of existing cast ,an to answer your question Bethany magic is common place in this world some lean some use cursed weapons there are whole pot around cults in the storyline.
I first played SC4 way back, when i went to this after-school thing at this little church. Being pretty young, I had no idea how to actually play. Had to ask some other kids for some pointers. It wasn't long before I loved it, and I wanted to play it every time I went to that place. Sadly, I didn't get to play it as often as I liked. That's why I got SC6 last year.

My favourite character (as well as finisher) is Algol. He's known as the Hero King and was the first to use both Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. Though when I played the game back on xbox 360, I was a Kilik (the staff user), Siegfried (blonde male in the crystal armor) and Yungseong (shirtless guy who blows himself up at the end) player. I believe the Star Wars cameos were because of The Force Unleashed which released on xbox and PS3 back then. The Apprentice (third in appearence in the video) is the character you play in that one. As for story, each character does have their own story mode. I believe one of the game modes has a tree which shows what characters interact with each other (I think). For Beth's question about the moves for Ivy (the dominatrix) and Zasalamel (the scythe user), their finishers are tied to their movesets so they're the only characters who fight like they do. Sorry for the long comment, hopefully this answers a few questions you both had.
"Who is that?" That is StarKiller. Remember Angry Batman Dante? StarKiller is angry Batman Dante with a lightsaber and enough Force mastery to fold a Star Destroyer like a piece of pizza. She's wacky like that. Ivy is an alchemist. and Immortal. and doesn't care about social mores. or clothes. Rock and Astaroth have the same finisher. Astaroth has the God Ender Axe and Rock usually has... a rock. or tree. Astaroth's symbol is of his cult, Rock has a symbol of an ephelump frankly because he's a moveset clone of Astaroth at this point. Ivy and Zasalamel are leagues above anyone else in magic use. Other characters have magic weapons or ARE magic weapons in the case of Knightmare. All Soul Caliburs have a story mode, it's been a staple since home version.
Honestly I kind of hope you check out the Critical Edge moves from V and VI as well. Not instant KOs like these, but they're arguably flashier in some instances.
I still want to request reacting to Final Fantasy 12, All Mist Attacks and Espers. Each of the 6 characters has 3, and jist as many summons, so it could be split up into 2 videos as well! I think you guys would appreciate how insane some of the skills are, especially when freezing and shattering time is one of the basic ones.
I spent countless hours mastering all the characters of this game, and fooling in the character creator, My best characters are still Siegfried, Kilik, Maxi, Raphael, Yoshimitsu and Taki
Yeah as all the rest of the comments have said the third Star Wars character was Starkiller from The Force Unleashed games, voice by and modeled after the amazing Sam Witwer. Also voiced Darth Maul in all his animated appearances. TFU games was actually what that got me into Star Wars hardcore before I was just a casual viewer. So I would highly recommend y'all to check out the games in some form later down the line.
Another Great game. There wer a Few that u missed. But that isn't ur Fault. There is a PSP Version called Soul Calibur broken destiny. That had a new character named Dampier and KRATOS from God of War 2 as a Guest Character. If ur wondering why the 1st characters u saw wer a Bit weird ( even by Soul Calibur standards ) they wer Bonus Characters.
Fun fact, the only reason they put star wars characters in soul cal 4 is to promote Star wars the force unleashed that was gonna be releasing around the same time. And also critical edges have completely different turnouts when performed on yoda since hes so small. Also the only character than cant be thrown with a normal grab trick for the sane reason. There was also a PSP spinoff called broken destiney that introduced a new character named dampierre as well as taking away the star wars characters and adding kratos in their place

Ooooh! Welcome to Soul Calibur. The best fighting game series with melee weapons ever. It definitely likes taking elements from many countries. My brother and I go hard on versus games and creating characters. The latest entry also has such an interesting way to tell stories outside of the main cast.
funny that you say the throne finisher was a boss move, that guy was the final boss himself, only unlockable after finishing the game with every other fighter. Soul Calibur was always great for putting out completion bonuses.

With the magic though, this is mostly a weapon fighting game. Some characters might have some special effects or what not, but gameplay wise most characters are not shooting fireballs at each other. It's actually weird some of these characters have those abilities in their critical finishes. Like Xianghua 5:05, I don't remeber her being anything more than a really skilled Chinese martial artist. What's it about? It's about a tale of swords and souls eternally retold. Yep that's all you get.
A recommendation if I may. Soulcalibur 1-3 had little snippets of the characters styles through what are known as weapon exhibitions. They vary in length and may require a multi-parter. I recommend you use 3 if you decide to do it, because that was the last entry to do them and has the most up to date roster of the time.
A suggestion for the future for a heartwarming story. "Ogryn Story" and "Gav and Bob" series from Vox in the Void - 40k - but from an ogryn's perspective. The best content that's out there.

And if you're curious on what the game's about (not that I'm any sort of expert at all); Set during 16-17th century the plot basically centers around a mythical sword called Soul Edge that became cursed through a LOT of bloodshed and grants whoever wields it/is ensnared by it, incredible power. It has a twin, the titular Soul Calibur that is a good aligned version and the only thing that can properly destroy it. The characters are warriors, heroes, pirates, mystics, alchemists, monsters, etc from all over the world who either want the blade or seek to destroy it for various reasons. There's a lot more to it but you get the picture.

I first played SC4 way back, when i went to this after-school thing at this little church. Being pretty young, I had no idea how to actually play. Had to ask some other kids for some pointers. It wasn't long before I loved it, and I wanted to play it every time I went to that place. Sadly, I didn't get to play it as often as I liked. That's why I got SC6 last year.
This was starkiller first appearance even before "the force unleashed" 2008. One of the best SW characters out there

My favourite character (as well as finisher) is Algol. He's known as the Hero King and was the first to use both Soul Edge and Soul Calibur.
Though when I played the game back on xbox 360, I was a Kilik (the staff user), Siegfried (blonde male in the crystal armor) and Yungseong (shirtless guy who blows himself up at the end) player. I believe the Star Wars cameos were because of The Force Unleashed which released on xbox and PS3 back then. The Apprentice (third in appearence in the video) is the character you play in that one.
As for story, each character does have their own story mode. I believe one of the game modes has a tree which shows what characters interact with each other (I think). For Beth's question about the moves for Ivy (the dominatrix) and Zasalamel (the scythe user), their finishers are tied to their movesets so they're the only characters who fight like they do.

Ivy is an alchemist. and Immortal. and doesn't care about social mores. or clothes.
Rock and Astaroth have the same finisher. Astaroth has the God Ender Axe and Rock usually has... a rock. or tree. Astaroth's symbol is of his cult, Rock has a symbol of an ephelump frankly because he's a moveset clone of Astaroth at this point.
Ivy and Zasalamel are leagues above anyone else in magic use. Other characters have magic weapons or ARE magic weapons in the case of Knightmare. All Soul Caliburs have a story mode, it's been a staple since home version.

Honestly I kind of hope you check out the Critical Edge moves from V and VI as well. Not instant KOs like these, but they're arguably flashier in some instances.

I still want to request reacting to Final Fantasy 12, All Mist Attacks and Espers. Each of the 6 characters has 3, and jist as many summons, so it could be split up into 2 videos as well! I think you guys would appreciate how insane some of the skills are, especially when freezing and shattering time is one of the basic ones.

I spent countless hours mastering all the characters of this game, and fooling in the character creator, My best characters are still Siegfried, Kilik, Maxi, Raphael, Yoshimitsu and Taki
especially in 4, giving them the best possible stats, my final boss had two full bars of health. XD
Yeah as all the rest of the comments have said the third Star Wars character was Starkiller from The Force Unleashed games, voice by and modeled after the amazing Sam Witwer. Also voiced Darth Maul in all his animated appearances.
TFU games was actually what that got me into Star Wars hardcore before I was just a casual viewer. So I would highly recommend y'all to check out the games in some form later down the line.

There wer a Few that u missed. But that isn't ur Fault. There is a PSP Version called Soul Calibur broken destiny. That had a new character named Dampier and KRATOS from God of War 2 as a Guest Character. If ur wondering why the 1st characters u saw wer a Bit weird ( even by Soul Calibur standards ) they wer Bonus Characters.
Fun fact, the only reason they put star wars characters in soul cal 4 is to promote Star wars the force unleashed that was gonna be releasing around the same time. And also critical edges have completely different turnouts when performed on yoda since hes so small. Also the only character than cant be thrown with a normal grab trick for the sane reason. There was also a PSP spinoff called broken destiney that introduced a new character named dampierre as well as taking away the star wars characters and adding kratos in their place
Smart to do the cross promotion. And it’s fun that Yoda gets some different animations due to his size 😁
Man I missing playing the heck out of Soulcalibur. Definitely one of those games I put many hours into along side Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. This is a great game series

funny that you say the throne finisher was a boss move, that guy was the final boss himself, only unlockable after finishing the game with every other fighter. Soul Calibur was always great for putting out completion bonuses.

I'd play you on soul calibur 6! I have so many custom meme characters
the ones at the start after the Star Wars characters where all bonus characters that just barrow the move list of the main cast so their finishers are just copied over. With the magic though, this is mostly a weapon fighting game. Some characters might have some special effects or what not, but gameplay wise most characters are not shooting fireballs at each other. It's actually weird some of these characters have those abilities in their critical finishes. Like Xianghua 5:05, I don't remeber her being anything more than a really skilled Chinese martial artist.
What's it about? It's about a tale of swords and souls eternally retold. Yep that's all you get.

A recommendation if I may. Soulcalibur 1-3 had little snippets of the characters styles through what are known as weapon exhibitions. They vary in length and may require a multi-parter. I recommend you use 3 if you decide to do it, because that was the last entry to do them and has the most up to date roster of the time.
A suggestion for the future for a heartwarming story. "Ogryn Story" and "Gav and Bob" series from Vox in the Void - 40k - but from an ogryn's perspective. The best content that's out there.

And if you're curious on what the game's about (not that I'm any sort of expert at all); Set during 16-17th century the plot basically centers around a mythical sword called Soul Edge that became cursed through a LOT of bloodshed and grants whoever wields it/is ensnared by it, incredible power. It has a twin, the titular Soul Calibur that is a good aligned version and the only thing that can properly destroy it. The characters are warriors, heroes, pirates, mystics, alchemists, monsters, etc from all over the world who either want the blade or seek to destroy it for various reasons.
There's a lot more to it but you get the picture.
To be honest, I missed soulcalibur and the very first Power Stone.
