Due to have my second revision anytime , current one been in for 27 years which replaced original one after 21 years . I am 72 and had the first one nearly fifty years ago !
I'm waiting for a revision, snapped the stem 3/4 the way down, very nervous. My other hip was replaced aged 34 with a de puy metal on Metal hip and its been perfect for me, like a natural hip. The one that needs replacing is only 4 years old, metal and ceramic, hated it. Didn't solve pain problems at all.
I am having a revision in 2 weeks. I have only had my original THR for 4 years, but the rod is loose. This video helped me so much with the doubts I was experiencing. Thank you!

Lizzy Grant No problem, and it’s gonna be fine . It’s basically gonna be done the exact same way as last Time. How long did you have your current artificial hip before finding all this out ?
Most places describe hip revision like a death-sentence! So Dr Andrew Yun gave some hope!

only four years? is the material was not good or the surgeon?

I had original 2013
Revision 2020 was loose for a few years
Then 2 infections with 1 stage revision 2021 2022
Now antibiotics for life

Lizzy Grant it went pretty great . Can’t complain just wished I wouldn’t have had to have it done in the first place but it was fine .
