- This pitch and bat is unique as the base runners will run back to bases when action is stopped (as if a player has the ball). The game also has up to five innings as opposed to most pitch and bats that go three outs a game. You can strike out in this game and get picked off first if you swing and miss with a runner on. A Grand Slam is awarded with a lit marque! Home Runs (which are hard to get) flash an "Out of the Park" sign and chime the bell repeatedly. Enjoy!
My favorite baseball pin of all time! My brother and I "figured it out" while playing at the bowling alley in Independence, OH in the early 70's. The best option was to 'bunt' the ball (swing a bit early to just get the ball a few inches forward, just enough time to move the runners/batter one base) three times to load 'em up, then deliberately hit the ball 'down the lines'. If done right, the ball would go up the line in right/left, move across the top (optimally slowing down) until it got to the other side of the outfield, and fell slowly down to the drain. Done right, it was a grand slam every time! Since scoring runs was the object, we could easily rack up 30 or more in a 5 inning game. Tons o' fun!!
I remember playing this a lot 50 years ago. Would love to find one to play again to see if it is still as fun as I remembered.
This was one of my favorite games to play. Like the previous comment by Jim, I too figured out that the best strategy was to bunt the ball, either swing early or late and then hit the ball down the lines to clear the bases. An awesome game.
I remembered this game quite well. I played it a few times back in 1974-75 on the way to Las Vegas, we would stop at Pop's Oasis in Jean, Nevada and while My Dad and Uncle were in the Casino doing their thing, we(My Sister and I) would be confined to the Arcade Section of the area. Mind you I was 12 and My Sister was 10 at the time, and that was My Favorite Game to play while being sat there.
Thank you very much for uploading this video here on You Tube, seeing that Pinball Machine brought back plenty of memories of way back when.
No idea if you still check messages on these older videos, but I hope so! I have the same game, but I haven't been able to find the two small instruction cards on the apron. Looks like you have them. Any chance I can get a picture of them so I can make my own? Hard to see in the video. Thanks!
