I recently got my hands on some partially recovered .SWF files. (shockwave flash, Adobe Flash Player. deprecated, no longer supported.) ...the files were a MESS. could hardly construct a coherent audio stream from the fragments. the end result... 30 seconds recovered total, from over 5 minutes of original audio metadata... very very choppy, and stuttery mess. like switching radio stations every fraction of a second. while listening to that jarbled mess of corrupted audio ... my brain remembered this song existed. So I searched UA-cam and just... listened to this track for a few minutes on loop. This track's title is very, very fitting for the music itself... I can safely say that now.
Should clarify - there were no video tracks to recover. Parsing the original corrupted files through different media decoders ... all failed. Not even a hint of a video block / track. That's why I went for audio only. Because I found no video fragments ... there was little chance for even single still image recovery. Audio is much more forgiving, as even a select few scattered samples can still make "some" sort of audio track. EDIT - I did throw the files through image recovery just in case I assumed wrong. Sadly, even after numerous attempts at dividing the data... not even parts of images were found. truly... the remains of a corrupted file.
Regarding those 8 or whatever notes that are repeated 4 times before looping... It honestly would not surprise me in the *_slightest_* if they WERE all that could be salvaged from a corrupted track, thus giving the track its title! 😊
