  • A few photos showing the changes to parts of the Crowhurst - Bexhill West railway closed in 1964 as a result of the infamous Beeching report "The Reshaping of British Railways". Black and white photos copyright Middleton Press and taken from the book "Tonbridge to Hastings" and used with permission. Colour photos were taken in 2008 prior to the building of the Hastings - Bexhill link road which now occupies the track bed from Sidley to Bexhill

    So sad. My mother used to get the train to Sidley via Crowhurst from Mountfield Halt in order to attend the old Bexhill grammar school in Turkey Road. Now all gone. Great-grandad built the viaduct at Crowhurst....

    Come to Sivyer at the Old Station Terminus Road Bexhill on sea now that we can all get out and spring is just around the corner . I saw lots of snow drops this morning in my garden they do not seem to have been effected by Covid quite unaware On ward and upwards the sunny future is on our hands once again take care Janet
