- New villain and lead roles have been revealed for Jurassic World 4. The extinction of the franchise doesn’t seem to be here yet but I’m not so sure this one will be as good as the first couple. Jurassic Park writer David Koepp returns with Gareth Edwards directing and Jonathan Bailey and Colman Domingo starring alongside Scarlet Johansson. I have no idea what to expect but hopefully the T.rex won’t be a pushover this time around.

David Koepp said in the bts of the lost world that it's important that the dinosaurs should never be characterized as villains because they're not they're just doing what they do it's when humans come in contact with one another through greed or hate that they find themselves at the mercy of the animals. I agree 100% and I wish the movies ditch the trope of a supervillain dino that wants to kill and eat everything.
In the novels the velociraptors were characterised as being evil, Muldoon remarks that they never pass up a chance to kill, that they kill for fun.

I think that it's okay with the Indominous and Indoraptor for the sole reason of them being MADE to be killers, and even though I think the Spino has an absolutely amazing design... The fact that it follows these humans around for the sole reason of killing them is kinda weird and stupid...
@YSL8704 There was a deleted scene or concept where Cooper would've killed a baby or juvenile Spinosaures. This scene would've not only explained how Coopers arm got injured since he was attacked by the young Spinosaures, but it would've also explained why the Spinosaures was hunting the characters throughout the movie.

We need a true villain, as in someone who is as ruthless and unethical as Dodgson was in the books. He outright tries to murder Sarah Harding at one point.
That's the Lewis Dodgson that I wanted to see in Dominion. But instead, they made him socially awkward and incompetent for no reason.
The closest that we got to a Lewis Dodgson from the Novels was Eli Mills.
He was a great villain who was more Dodgson than the Dodgson we saw in Dominion. Lol
I agree, I want a Jurassic Park villian that is a human for the upcoming movie like book Lewis Dodgsom rather than the giganotosaurus that is misunderstood only evil in a certain context (T Rex and Giganotosaurus lived on opposite sides of the Americas, meaning that the Giganotosaurus walked through almodt the entirety of America to kill one T Rex).
I appreciate your point, but we’ve already gotten a ruthless and unethical villains, Vic Hoskins, Ken Wheatley, Eli Mills, Rainn Delacourt, Sonya Santos and Lewis Dodgson whose greed nearly brought about a global famine.

I hope they dont do the "evil greedy man" story again... Would be nice to see the story focused on a simple style of storytelling. 100% agree with you that the villains got cheesy and felt like some fake marvel crap in the JW series. I want it to feel REAL again. Beast was so good cause it was SIMPLE.

My main fear with this new movie coming out is the pussy-fying of the dinosaurs. I think for a successful sequel setting it after Dominion is OK, but they need to pick up where Fallen Kingdom left off and treat the dinosaurs invading the mainland as a bad thing and drop this coexist message they've been pushing.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and make a prediction:
Bailey: A highly trained soldier with a few ethic dilemmas, you know, the whole "starting bad to neutral but eventually becoming good because morals" type
Johansson: Defo a paleontologist or something of the sort
The aforementioned (which is not very clear to me on how they got together - maybe Bailey was with Domingo initially and had a change of heart or something) will be rolling through the film, trying to stay alive and sabotaging Domingo and his men, Lost World style.
Domingo: I believe they've heard people's complains about (among others) the bad guys being in suits, so I'd say I probably see him in a poacher type role, maybe leading a pack of people who (as you correctly said) want to take advantage of the dinosaurs. His team will get decimated throughout the movie until the final "battle", in which he will be somehow ironically killed by a payoff of something he said earlier in the film.
I love the casting so far! That along with Gareth Edwards and David Koepp at the helm make me feel really confident about this movie
Jurassic Park is one of the main reasons why I became a scientist. They are all more than just movies to me. I don't care how bad they get or how many sequels they make, I'll watch every JP movie from now until the end of time.

As long as the villain doesn't use Dinosaur mind control or a hybrid or some other 'Bred for fighting" dinosaur to benefit themselves not much can go wrong.

Why not it's like there's not any other ideas for the villain since they are in a world of dinosaurs, and who knows, maybe he can do all of the above not just for money but, for control like dogson.

Personally I’m hoping Domingo will play as a “what’s dead should stay dead” antihero character whom is trying to make dinosaurs extinct again, as they should always have been, due to the world being all fucked up due to humanity being killed and driven to extinction by the dinosaurs, and with him trying to prevent that by returning things to the way it was before Hammond and Wu fucked everything up as a return to the themes of the first movie and Creighton’s intention for the series and its meaning, which was ruined by media illiteracy amongst the cast and crew and directors and so on.
I actually kind of like that idea. It sounds much better than some of the antagonists that we've been getting up to now.

Very Nice and Decent Video of the new Human Villain in the new Jurassic Movie Klayton and I hope he does something really evil and I hope he does a lot better than Eli Mills and Lewis Dodgson from the Jurassic World Movies as well as Kash and Kenji’s Dad from Camp Cretaceous in my opinion.
I’m not so sure about this but I might find out for sure when the movie comes out in 2025 and on the bright side, at least I’m hyped for the Camp Cretaceous Sequel Chaos Theory.

I don't know about you guys but I'm 35 years old and jp is an awesome comfort blanket for me. Watched the original when I was 4 in the cinema I've I've loved it since. Was super let down by the last 2 movies and I pray that they get this next one right.

Dodgson was pretty vile in the books. The thing I like is the meeting he has with nedry. The original actor in the movie does a good job with showing that dodgson was holding back his anger. Which in the book he was doing. The man had a heck of a foul mouth too. In the lost world he threw Sarah overboard on the way to the island.
I hope it's not another one of those generic / cartoony bad guys in suits that the JW trilogy threw at us.

Having "let's save the dinosaurs" villain would be a nice change since that's Fallen Kingdom ended up being and probably is the mindset of the younger audience. It would bring back the fear of the dinosaurs in a way that says, "yeah they're cool and majestic but they are still creatures who's DNA is from another era and can't be controlled as easy as people with rifles hunting down wolves". Thing is I don't know if they could work in a post Dominion canon with dinosaurs ending up as coexistable and dealable.

I'm currently reading for the first time, Michael Crichton's "Micro" novel, as the notification for this video poped up, and I felt nostalgic for his kind of storytelling. Hopefully this new movie feels as interesting and mysterious as his writing was in Micro and Jurassic Park. I'm excited for the new movie but there's always that fear of this movie following "modern cinema" even though we have the right team to make a worthy Jurassic film after what happened with Dominion
They should go full Jumanji with the main character... A child finds himself alone on the abandoned island. Although he assumes there will be immediate rescue, there isn't for 8 years. He grows up as a wild-man that had to teach himself to survive. He all but masters the island and its monsters and secrets. Now that I'm saying it, it sounds kinda dumb haha.

Hello Klayton! My name is Jacob and I'm a huge jurassic fan and decided to make a novel that takes place on sorna during hurricane clarissa. The characters are a paleontologist, genetic engineer, and security guard that get caught up in the evacuation and are let stranded with all of the newly released dinosaurs. I was wondering, if you would know, if any of the dinosaurs that were released would have been close to full size or somewhere in the ball park of being sub-adult? The reason I ask this is because it would be nice for the characters to be able to encounter larger specimens and not just juveniles and chicks.
I'd really like to see a sympathetic villain for a change. Someone we want to see win because we understand or even relate to them. Someone who could honestly be the protagonist if the perspectives were shifted. Like a man who wants to wipe out the dinosaurs because they killed his whole family. So he's ruthless and callous, but not evil. Just broken. If they did something like that, I'd honestly want to see that character live or at least die in a respectful manner.
Something that's important for the story is that the characters need to feel like real people.

When it comes to villans for Jurassic, if I was in the writters chair, I think I would do something like this.
Start with a simple character that appears to be a protagonist, present them as someone who has a goal and a purpose for there actions ( something that is actually personal rather than a pile of money ), show that they are determined and devoted to this goal with a one way perspective that cannot be changed no matter what. Have the protagonists learn gradually over time the motivations behind this character along with the audience as the movie progresses.
Eventually, have some major event occur that means that the protagonists go down seperate pathways to the point were they oppose eachother and that one determined character evolves into a villan. That villan then ' goes mental ' in achieveing their goal to the point that they are willing to fight and kill the protagonists for it.
End with the Villan having won against the protagonists but they find a way to bring down the great achievemnt of the villan to the point that neither have won but the antagonistic threat is no more. Finally, at the very end of the film, give the villan the ultimate consequence for there actions and of course, in true Jurassic fashion, that character then gets brutally killed by a predatory dinosaur (please be a T.Rex, please be a T.Rex, my soul will die if it is NOT A T.REX)
I know that that sounds alot like Eli Mills but that's because as a villan, he was actually very good. The problem with him though is that his goal was to sell the Nublar animals for a financial profit, one of the vaguest motivations a character can fall prey to.
I personally recommend the mindset of something like a bond villan or mabey even Heath Ledger's Joker, a character who only wishes to cause chaos mabey even to the point of purposley harming the main character for their own satisfaction. That would probably make a very, very good villan for a Jurassic film.
As someone who’s seen the original movie in theaters and adores the lost world you are obviously my favorite Jurassic Park content creator on UA-cam! One thing I hope for in survival and hopefully you can touch on in one of your videos is the possibility of VR compatibility like resident evil seven Exploring a realistic Jurassic Park In VR with the scale is literally a dream come true in something that with today’s technology can be done

Scarlett Johansson could actually play a sort of paleontologist who also uses weapons because I've only seen her in action movies, and Jonathan Bailey seems like a paleontologist or someone who knows a lot about animals or dinosaurs, etc. As for Coleman, I have no idea what he could be; hopefully, he's like a hunter, like Roland Tembo TLW. A new Jurassic world movie very interesting
A prequel movie set in the 1980s, with the premise being before the original Jurassic Park opened, the original employees hired by Hammond. Since it’s toward the end of the Cold War, the idea of Isla Sorna and Site B were originally intended as test sites for military intelligence, but Ingen was the result of an entrepreneur like Hammond using his connections with government contracts to build his own personal pet project, cloning dinosaurs.

This is gonna be awesome to see a new antagonist in Jurassic Park 7
If they want to do something novel the franchise should first set up the dinosaur "Big Five" and set up stories around them. That way you can expand beyond the magical three and each movie could stand on its own and could have Easter eggs from the past at will to suit the stories. Like suppose an antagonists/anti hero diagnosed with an incurable disease decides to meet a T-rex in person and up close as a manner of ending his life, dragging the rest of the cast to their early death along with him. The T-rex, the Velociraptor, the Mosasaurus, the Spinosaurus and one not so friendly herbivore all could be the focus in their own movie.
Well, I've sent this comment yesterday but I want to hear Klayton's opinion, We all love to see a prequel movie but being after Dominion doesn't mean it's going to be like Dominion, we also don't know if those rumors are true but considering this fact that they changed the first director with a correct director just tells me that they don't want destroy this movie.
One thing that I feel about this movie is its similarities to Prey movie, the production is so similar to Prey production, just like Dominion The Predator (2018) almost had destroyed Predator franchise but in a time when no one wasn't even thinking to see another predator movie we've got news about a spin-off, this film began development during the production of The Predator, very similar to some news about the production of JP7, looks like both Universal and Fox knew this big piles of shit are going to suck, Prey was a smaller movie, it had a smaller budget and they wrote a basic story for it where you see a yautja is doing yautja things and it was a good hit and I think Universal is doing the same thing and in my opinion JP7 fast production is because of a smaller budget, I don't like Jurassic City name and I don't think they will use it (another fun fact that Prey was named Skulls during the production) but a different name means it's a spin-off.
Dev Patel has also been named as well. Pretty decent cast in my opinion, other than Scarlett Johansson, it's not a "triple-A" cast and Gareth Edwards in the director's chair gives me small semblance of hope that we'll be getting a Lost World-ish tone film. I mean Rogue One, The Creator, Monsters, Godzilla 2014 -- the man has a very specific dirty/grounded style that I think could work great in a Jurassic film so long as the studio execs keep their nose out.
What if ScarJo is playing Jess Harding? I could see them introducing a version of her into the movies. Would be cool for her to confirm the Jerry/Sarah connection on screen.

The hippie who got people killed was in The Lost World - Nick van Owen nobody would die if he didn't mess stuff up (releasing Dinosaurs leaving everybodies equipment to stop working, stopping Roland from saving everybody from the T-rex hence dying in the long grass)

I would love to see Scarlett Johansson play in a Dino Crisis style movie. Or even if the Jurassic franchise went more towards the Dino Crisis style.
I think we need more horror than action. It may have already been stated, but I think a great antagonist would be someone who ruthlessly releases dinosaurs in heavily populated islands for mass chaos and destruction. So far we've seen control and containment type villains wanting a profit, but imagine the horror people would face if multiple containment sights were destabilized - similar to the events on Isla Sorna. This could open the franchise up to Las Cinco Muertes and more of the history beind those islands. Fresh cast and a new story while still honoring the franchise and horror of the original book.
Mmmm… also is Rex gonna be like a lil Easter egg near the end, or will they actually kill her off? As for villain? I’m thinking smuggler with some sort of immense power that could drive what direction the movie goes, would be some of the movie went off something to do with JP: survival, or linked somehow. But i agree with everything said and i just would love a movie where the dinos are scary...because it would be terrifying to not know where they are day to day. Imagine trying to go to work and there is a triceratops blocking your car or your driving down the street and there is a dilophosaur walking through a yard. Thats scary
I personally hope the following dinosaurs/prehistoric creatures in it: deinosuchus, metreacanthusaurus, baryonix, suchomimus, ornathalesties, proceratosaurus, and other such Dinosaurs we know are cannon but haven't been seen in a jurassic movie.

I’ve heard about this weird new dinosaur called “malsaurus” I think, it’s this weird ceratosaurus thingy, I think that it will be in the movie.
I want to see the prehistoric animals interacting and either hunting or getting hunted bu modern day animals.
Domingo plays a character called Daniel Ross.
I don't really know about the other actors in talks for this film, but I would like to see Skarlett Johanson's Black Widow personafide charactor to kinda transition right on over to the videogame character Regina from Dino Crisis 1 & 2. That's really the only kind of character I can see her playing, or at least who's like Regina anyway. I guess I just reallly wanna see some kind of a morph crossover between Dino Crisis & Jurassic Park, or world. Hey, I'm equal oppertunity on whichever they go with.
I also do wanna see a dark. Gritty, grounded styled horor elements throughout the whole movie. I don't mind the action at all, but if there's no suspense sequences that bring out the horor elements like how the lost world jurassic park novel describes everything in every eerie detail, then it's just an overly exhagerated Dinotopia type of story, with some stupid coexist message no one wants to see. Simply put, if the dinos aren't grounded & scary, I no wanna watch. If the story plot sucks & the actors are pumping out some wierd virtual signaling, I ain't gonna watchie--its that simple.
This movie's gotta be a make it or break it type of deal.

Colman Domingo was great in Fear the Walking Dead. He was a pseudo villain at times who also was sort of a good guy... someone who put himself first over others. Kind of a ruthless character. I don't think a true villain is a bridge too far.
Not sure a story always needs a villain, it just needs conflict, which can come in many forms, be it inner conflict, moral tension etc.
I haven't seen The Abyss, but it does sound like an interesting villain. Actually, it reminds of the survivor of the duo of mercenaries in the JP Telltale video game, who starts kind of normal but goes villainous when the other one dies mid-game. Is this similar to this?

You know what might be compelling? Is for the bad guy to genuinely love dinosaurs.
Like everyone we’ve had so far is just money money money.
Why not have a guy that really genuinely is trying to fulfill a childhood dream- maybe just to see one. Hell maybe his paycheck is legitimately his select of any animal that he’s trying to smuggle/ get dna from.
It could make an interesting point of him causing either his own hubris or the deaths of several people by stopping a kill of an animal that has them pinned down.
I see a distinct lack of wonder of JP characters over the years- literally no one I can think of ((save Misrani)) showed a genuine love for the animals.
Please make the human people feel the wonder we want to feel for once.
Colman Domingo is exceptional. Stand out of Fear The Walking Dead especially when he played the villain.
(8:21) It wouldn't surprise me if Scarlett Johansson's character in this movie is some type of solder or something similar to Owen did before he was working in the theme park. But for the other actors im not so sure yet, I do think one of them is gonna be a paleontologist thats for sure. Also in regards to Colman Domingo being the supposed villain in this movie, im pretty sure he's gonna be your typical greedy bad guy but if he's not and is gonna be a different type of villain then it will be interesting to see how that plays out. 🤑👨💼👿

I wouldn't be mad if they use Doctor Levine from the second book, and even if they use bit's from the lost world to explore the rest of the five deaths what ingen was exactly doing there, if something is still there and jumping from these islands to mainland to possibly explore the problems with the dinosaurs trying to fit in the ecological niches that are already filled and also interactions between them and people like farmers of cattle ranchers. I would even go so far to implement the paleobotany into the story, extinct plans being back causing problems for some modern animals like modern plants caused problems for some dinosaurs in the first book and movie. But that's just what I think be interesting.
Despite being a bad guy, Ken Wheatley is one of my favorite characters in Fallen Kingdom. Enjoyed the character. I don't know what it is with characters like Wheatley and Roland Tembo, but I really like those kind of soldier/safari-like characters. Would be cool to see more like this.
Somehow, I loved Mills for being the first true villain of the franchise (even if Ted Levine as his sidekick was just as rotten if not more). Eli Mills did what no other did before him in the franchise (kill someone willingly) and that scene was truly one of the best ones of the movie.
Does the novels count as being part of the franchise? Because in the novels Sarah Harding kills Lewis Dodgson by forcing him out of a hiding spot so he gets eaten by a t-rex
@@benfubbs2432 Well, that's not her who kills him directly and she's no villain. Plus books aren't canon regarding the movie franchise.
If its a sequel then there should be towns or cities that are over run snd no go areas. Dont want a full apocalyptic setting but i think it should be moving towards that if not stopped. I also think the dinosaur disease plot should be explored more, could tie in back to the first jurassic park with the sick Triceratops and brachiosauras. Maybe its started to spread to humans and the host dinosaur is still on sorna and have to find it.
Here’s an idea for a movie: how a film about what happened on the SS Venture. Something like The Last Voyage of the Demeter.
I feel this movie is gonna focus heavily on the black market dinosaurs, just like malta from the previous movie. Or at least thats what it sounds like from the rumors I've heard here and there

Honestly I would like it similar to how battle at big rock were it's not A dinosaur but just dinosaurs in general where the humans are just trying to survive and escape them
I never seen Dr. Wu as a villian. He did his job then was going to be a scapegoat.
I just hope there are some good Dino killing human scenes like the original. Not just dinosaurs roaring and not really eating people.

Yeah I actually like the idea of a villain being an old school paleontologist, a bit like Alan Grant but a more evil, radicalised version, who actually thinks all dinosaurs should be put down because it is unethical to keep them alive as they aren't what these creatures should be or part of the natural order.
I wonder if they *have* considered going the same basic direction as the rebooted Planet of the Apes films but didn't because they were worried that they were going to be seen as "ripping PotA off". If so, they need to let go of their fear and listen to what the fans say instead of what some stuffy, self-righteous film critics say.
