The NFL/NBA debate hinges on 2 issues: NBA has a height bias and NFL is way more physical. I personally think there's a tie for the number of players to be successful in the opposite league, but it's a realistically small number of players being able to be successful.
I'd argue that pure athleticism can get you to the NFL easier than the NBA. Aside from the size of the roster - things such as speed, explosiveness, strength impact the game a bit more directly. While athleticism is obviously huge in basketball, most everyone at D1 is extremely athletic - IQ starts to become a bigger and bigger factor as the athletic gap narrows. This is more for average level players - rules really dont apply to true freaks of nature.
@@TSprinkles-rz3kwfootball requires athleticism and skill combined to be successful, unless you’re a QB or kicker. Basketball has players that are 7’0+ that act like they scared to dunk
@@mike.e358 basketball takes 100x the skill of football stop it lmaoo, ur just incredibly bias to football. football takes athleticism and weight where as baskebetball needs height and skill
@@rydercollins5553 pure athleticism only carries you through college, if you don’t have the skill set and fundamentals, then you won’t do shit in the NFL.
Jay Cutler was a great basketball player at Heritage Hills HS in Indiana. There are some good highlights out there of him throwing down some monster dunks.
I didn’t even listen past the past 10 seconds we both gave the same answer but ultimately there’s a ton of dudes in the NFL that can absolutely ball guarantee it.
NBA players hand eye coordination is on another level which will in turn translate way better than NFL players who just love to hit. Most hardly even touch a ball lol. I do believe some would be solid 6th men, but the number of nba players that would excel in the nfl far supersedes the inverse
Josh McCown is probably not a household name but he had a tremendous NFL career. I knew him from SMU when we were kids. I played basketball my whole life and mixed it up with several future pros and stud hoopers. When I say Josh was the coldest white boy I’ve ever seen, I’m not kidding. Double clutch reverse, 360s, windmills. Filthy dunk game and a knockdown 3 point shooter. He was honestly the best basketball player on campus but played football.
You really serious about NBA players playing football. I guess you've never done an Oklahoma drill or king of the hill before. Damn the game can they handle practice?????? Food for thought.
Same for the opposite too. Very few nfl players are long enough to be wings or bigs so we are taking maybe a point guard and a wing out of the whole league. Lebron 100 percent could be a te or edge defender tho. Especially if he got up to 275. I could see a prime Westbrook or john wall being effective corners or wrs. A freak like Odell could prob run the point. Dude has massive hands, can elevate, and his hand eye is crazy I’m sure he would develop a crazy 3 and passing ability
So as a person that played both sports. I did not make it to the NFL or the NBA. With basketball there’s quite a bit more finesse and IQ and how you can play the game. Where with football it’s actually more of an isolation individual sports and most people realize. As an offensive lineman you’re gonna have a blocking assignment if you’re running and if you’re blocking. You’ll still have an assignment, but it’s a little easier. You don’t have to Level. You don’t have to run block and try to hit a dude that’s faster than you. It’s not necessarily about the fact that yes physically if you make contact, that’s the problem you need to be a contact with this person that is faster than you probably and more agile than you . From the scrimmage, you know you assignment you know what you’re supposed to do whether it’s offensively or defensively to me personally I think that NBA players could translate mostly the wide receivers outside linebackers that type of deal. Ultimately most athletes are athletes so they’re usually pretty all right at everything.
Tyreek has that I don’t know how to explain the weird tuck off the jumper. You’ll see a few guys do it here and there I mean if it works for you it works for you. Bring both off the floor them behind and takes a shot personally I don’t like those mechanics but again if it works.
AI was absolutely insane on both sides of the ball he was Michael vick at QB and Ed Reed on defense no doubt he could've played in the NFL but majority of NBA players are just too tall and too injury prone to transition to football
Tee is nasty, can't believe there was no Keon. Not having him on here is criminal
The consistency be getting better 😂🙏🏽🙏🏽
Tee Higgins full highlight tape is RIDICULOUS...SHOOTER TOO

Chase lane was throwing down nasty dunks in high school
Mahomes is 6-2 with above average athleticism. Not surprised that he could dunk in high school.
Jay Cutler was a great basketball player at Heritage Hills HS in Indiana. There are some good highlights out there of him throwing down some monster dunks.
Pennel is a beast. Dude went crazy in the Super Bowl last year
I like how you made it about yourself on several occasions
"OH SHIT!!! .... OKAY PATTY!" - cam when patrick mahomes dunks 😂😂😂
I knew cooper in high school some of my friends were really close with him and yeah he is nice as hell in basketball and in football
when he said he could beat caitlin clark 1 on 1 and people thought he was insane... he would whoop her ass.
Keon Coleman was NICEEEE at basketball
Cooper DeJean is not a safety. He’s just a corner who will lock down your number 1
Fun fact Mahomes was also drafted in the MLB and could’ve played college baseball anywhere he wanted

Notice they’re for the most part all highlights of dunks. Dunking and running fast doesn’t translate to high-level basketball.
zion williamson? Lmaoo his highlights are about the same
Day 7 of asking Cam Wilder to react to Jessers most recent 1v1 tournament
