Murphy Aircraft Shows Updated Models at AirVenture

Newly resuscitated Murphy Aircraft made a splash at AirVenture 2022 with a new Radical homebuilt as well as a partially completed Moose on tricycle gear and an ultralight Elite. We checked in with Anton Fix, who is helping update Murphy's manufacturing and documentation, as well as Marco Probst, builder of the Radical on display.

Over the years I've considered building a kit from Murphy - Ended up rebuilding a certified airplane, but that's another story - Murphy has aircraft that on the surface suited what I wanted out of an airplane.
But they just fail at marketing, PR, and getting information into the hands of potential builders. Case in point: the aircraft featured in this video... there is absolutely no info from Murphy about this aircraft on their website. Looks like a great build, but Murphy doesn't tell the story to sell the kit.

I wanted to build one too but the company was getting smaller and smaller over the years. I worry about the product support after I spent the money and the years building it.

How about some real numbers… cruise landing dist …etc…it’s a real bummer to hear different numbers from the Murphy factory website and this plane….what can it do really!

I have flown the Elite with 200 hp and have never been in a funner all around capable plane.

That Radical is, well, Radical. That is one badass airplane!

Love to see news from them. With all the hype around the RV15, this is a kit you can buy today. And you will fly something you don't see that often.
