I was a sceptic but following the tragic loss of a child I experienced a series of unambiguous events that convinced me life continues beyond physical death. I have a scientific & medical background so I believe I have a sufficient standard of scepticism and, interestingly, actually was quite resistant to accepting what I was experiencing. What I find disappointing in documentaries like these looking into the bigger questions are a kind of intellectual cowardice, and a kind of deception they pull which ironically they accuse mediums of. They claim cold reading explains how mediums glean information but they never delve any deeper than a very glossed over, superficial understanding. The obvious test would be to put a halfway decent proponent into an audience and compare their hit rate to a mediums. This we don’t see. Even the sceptic in this piece had a pretty shabby go, very general, non specific and seemingly a bit ignorant about how mediums actually communicate with the people they read for. The other neglected aspect is that many mediums study for years strongly codified teachings that emphasize professionalism and ethical behaviour. This includes providing solid evidence of the spirit in question the medium couldn’t know or guess, not conducting fishing expeditions but having clients only answer yes or no, and always looking for detail not generic information. If you look into it you find mediums are like any profession, some are amazing, some are passable and some are definite shonks. Scepticism is necessary, but superficiality and timidity in examining questions as profoundly affecting as these and people should expect more from documentary makers.

Perhaps they are just afraid of having their minimalist view on life shaken up? Allowing yourself to connect more with the spiritual side of life is deeply healing and something I personally couldn’t recommend any more vividly.

Spiritualism books can help a great deal. They provide food for thought. I read Dr. Bryan's book "The Truth About Spiritualism" and it makes a lot of sense. I often look for signs from my loved ones. Thoughts do have wings.
Very good video, I totally believe in mediumship because I studied it to prove to myself its real , I believe everyone has the ability to connect with people who have passed if they want to, but like anything it takes time and practice . If you want to connect with a loved one simply think of them and they are with you, you may not see them but they are there .

Mediums either believe in their abilities or others use peoples vulnerability’s but don’t feel bad for doing this as they are helping that person with their greif and move on. There are "evidential" mediums, many trained in the UK. Evidential mediums always include facts that no one could guess and that are usually quite unique so that skeptics don't have to worry about a reading being fake or that "cold reading" tricks are being used. There are other mediums that aren't worried about that or don't think that is the best use of their time and skills. Since this documentarian is based in the UK, this would have been a much better documentary if he had actually observed evidential mediums, asked about it and had taken the time to observe and record repeated demonstrations of facts coming forward in each evidential reading that would not be possible with a cold reading. As an example, Susanne Giesemann discusses evidential mediams in her books and was trained in the UK to be able to provide evidential readings.

My family does have a foresite. My Nan woke up in the middle of the night screaming "China. The desease." This was in 2016 or so. My Grandad put her back to sleep. I slept next to them, we shared a house since 2006. Then, my grandad passed away, in 2018. The Pandemic came to pass in 2019 and I stopped seeing my Nan's dreams as fever dreams. She knew my girlfriend was pregnent in 2011. I didn't tell her, she told me. There was this unspoken moment. I hadn't been dating long. She knew. I in 2009 knew intimate details of a woman I had just met. Though I was drinking at the time. I wholly admit it was drink, I unravelled her entire life the moment we met and even knew her parents were deaf. I never met them. I don't believe in God or superstitious BS. But my Nan does give me pause. I remember my Nan waking, because she shouted and my Grandad a Tywin Lannister type guy shouted "go to sleep" I was playing GTA lol. My Nan then yelled "China, the desease" and Grandad and her woke up and I remember hearing him calming her down. It was about 1am. My room is right beside theirs and it's walls are paper thin. My Dad and grandfather both died in 2018. We share the house. But I still get flashes of people's lives. Maybe it's cold-reading I don't know. Again, it's easier with a drink, but it get's written off as Oh yeah it's Alcohol. James Randi perhaps might explain it to me. I don't claim to have second sight. Seek God in scripture and learn who He is and see how nothing is impossible for Him Everyone who thinks or feels God doesn't care, is indifferent and or mean etc …. Why is the world as it is, evil everywhere… where is God and His faithfulness… God does judge sin which is evil and if people don't stop sinning they will die for that disobedience,that sin. When God said if you take from that tree you will die He was saying if you disobey, you sin, I will punish that sin because God does punish it, sickness, demons and death. And if you keep sinning I will punish you to the point of death, is that punishment. Sickness is a consequence of sin and it is a judgement God makes upon the people for their sin. All sickness takes its toll on the body and will result in death unless you stop sinning and that brings a reward from God for the righteous decision to stop sinning that brought that illness. Throughout scripture God tells us these things. God does love and there is mercy in His punishment too. He chastises those He loves. His wrath doesn't mean He doesn't love, it doesn't mean there is no mercy, it means He puts His law first and He obeys it first. He punished sin and then punishes sin and so forth and if someone doesn't stop sinning or sins more then that judgment is death just as He said, sin is death. Scripture says we are all responsible for working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Seek scripture, learn who He is and what He said to obey and do it. if you obey Him you live in blessings just like Deuteronomy 28 says and it also says disobedience is curses, that's sickness, demons possibly and again to continue in sin results in death. God told all the details, and paid for us to get out of sin and how we should live and when people don't live righteous then the world looks like it did in the days of Noah, violence, drunkenness and such lovers of self, pleasure and all sin and life apart from God, life in disobedience to God. Why should He bless sin? He punishes it then punishes sin more if someone keeps sinning. Is it tough people die from that choice they make, their sin and lack of seeking God to obey what He said, yes it hurts. How do you think God feels, He loved the world so much He gave His only begotten son and Yeshua died in agony for us to be out of that sin, taking God's wrath upon Himself so how do I think He feels, grieved so grieved but I know from scripture He always obeys what His word says, He never changes and that includes every word He said. How loving is that God gave us His son who took God's wrath for us out of love. How loving just how loving is our God who made a way for us to be out of that wrath? Wrath we deserved by our sin and continued sin. But God so loved the world He gave us Yeshua. Yeshua gave His life to rise to life for us to give us new life. A new creation to begin again a new life, having been born again. Having received forgiveness for sin and a pardon from God's wrath, that very wrath you talk about. But God gave us a way out of His wrath when Yeshua our lamb paid for our sin. Again how loving is that our way out of God's wrath. Our new life. Our second chance to live rightly before our Holy righteous God our being born again to live right because God planned for us to not all receive His wrath yet His son for everyone, one for everyone and a way out, pardoned and free to live life righteous whole healed delivered, how loving oh so very loving that is. You’re right, spirit flourishes in good well being, and wearing face masks stifles the air (they certainly won’t stop microscopic viruses, it just helps bacteria to fester). I was a sceptic but following the tragic loss of a child I experienced a series of unambiguous events that convinced me life continues beyond physical death. I have a scientific & medical background so I believe I have a sufficient standard of scepticism and, interestingly, actually was quite resistant to accepting what I was experiencing.
What I find disappointing in documentaries like these looking into the bigger questions are a kind of intellectual cowardice, and a kind of deception they pull which ironically they accuse mediums of.
They claim cold reading explains how mediums glean information but they never delve any deeper than a very glossed over, superficial understanding. The obvious test would be to put a halfway decent proponent into an audience and compare their hit rate to a mediums. This we don’t see. Even the sceptic in this piece had a pretty shabby go, very general, non specific and seemingly a bit ignorant about how mediums actually communicate with the people they read for.
The other neglected aspect is that many mediums study for years strongly codified teachings that emphasize professionalism and ethical behaviour. This includes providing solid evidence of the spirit in question the medium couldn’t know or guess, not conducting fishing expeditions but having clients only answer yes or no, and always looking for detail not generic information. If you look into it you find mediums are like any profession, some are amazing, some are passable and some are definite shonks.
Scepticism is necessary, but superficiality and timidity in examining questions as profoundly affecting as these and people should expect more from documentary makers.

Perhaps they are just afraid of having their minimalist view on life shaken up? I would avoid June Field (‘World’s Best Psychic’) I did not have a good reading with her and felt conned after spending a small fortune on it. All she does is read you as a person by asking you loads of questions first! Go figure 🫤
There are "evidential" mediums, many trained in the UK. Evidential mediums always include facts that no one could guess and that are usually quite unique so that skeptics don't have to worry about a reading being fake or that "cold reading" tricks are being used. There are other mediums that aren't worried about that or don't think that is the best use of their time and skills. Since this documentarian is based in the UK, this would have been a much better documentary if he had actually observed evidential mediums, asked about it and had taken the time to observe and record repeated demonstrations of facts coming forward in each evidential reading that would not be possible with a cold reading. As an example, Susanne Giesemann discusses evidential mediams in her books and was trained in the UK to be able to provide evidential readings.
Giving people comfort in their lives is not a bad thing if you are good at it.

My family does have a foresite. My Nan woke up in the middle of the night screaming "China. The desease." This was in 2016 or so. My Grandad put her back to sleep. I slept next to them, we shared a house since 2006. Then, my grandad passed away, in 2018. The Pandemic came to pass in 2019 and I stopped seeing my Nan's dreams as fever dreams. She knew my girlfriend was pregnent in 2011. I didn't tell her, she told me. There was this unspoken moment. I hadn't been dating long. She knew. I in 2009 knew intimate details of a woman I had just met. Though I was drinking at the time. I wholly admit it was drink, I unravelled her entire life the moment we met and even knew her parents were deaf. I never met them.

I remember my Nan waking, because she shouted and my Grandad a Tywin Lannister type guy shouted "go to sleep" I was playing GTA lol. My Nan then yelled "China, the desease" and Grandad and her woke up and I remember hearing him calming her down. It was about 1am. My room is right beside theirs and it's walls are paper thin.

God does judge sin which is evil and if people don't stop sinning they will die for that disobedience,that sin. When God said if you take from that tree you will die He was saying if you disobey, you sin, I will punish that sin because God does punish it, sickness, demons and death. And if you keep sinning I will punish you to the point of death, is that punishment. Sickness is a consequence of sin and it is a judgement God makes upon the people for their sin. All sickness takes its toll on the body and will result in death unless you stop sinning and that brings a reward from God for the righteous decision to stop sinning that brought that illness. Throughout scripture God tells us these things. God does love and there is mercy in His punishment too. He chastises those He loves. His wrath doesn't mean He doesn't love, it doesn't mean there is no mercy, it means He puts His law first and He obeys it first. He punished sin and then punishes sin and so forth and if someone doesn't stop sinning or sins more then that judgment is death just as He said, sin is death. Scripture says we are all responsible for working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Seek scripture, learn who He is and what He said to obey and do it. if you obey Him you live in blessings just like Deuteronomy 28 says and it also says disobedience is curses, that's sickness, demons possibly and again to continue in sin results in death.
God told all the details, and paid for us to get out of sin and how we should live and when people don't live righteous then the world looks like it did in the days of Noah, violence, drunkenness and such lovers of self, pleasure and all sin and life apart from God, life in disobedience to God. Why should He bless sin? He punishes it then punishes sin more if someone keeps sinning. Is it tough people die from that choice they make, their sin and lack of seeking God to obey what He said, yes it hurts. How do you think God feels, He loved the world so much He gave His only begotten son and Yeshua died in agony for us to be out of that sin, taking God's wrath upon Himself so how do I think He feels, grieved so grieved but I know from scripture He always obeys what His word says, He never changes and that includes every word He said. Now Yeshua took God's wrath upon Himself for our sin Isaiah 53. We get peace with God and can come before Him to be heard and we get to be cleansed from our iniquities, sin. Just like the lamb sacrifices in the old testament Jesus was that for us a peace offering and forgiveness offering. We get freedom from that sinful past, from that sin and we get our healings because His stripes healed us from the consequences of sin.
He gave us a way out. A way to start again out of that wrath. How loving is that God gave us His son who took God's wrath for us out of love. How loving just how loving is our God who made a way for us to be out of that wrath? Wrath we deserved by our sin and continued sin. But God so loved the world He gave us Yeshua. Yeshua gave His life to rise to life for us to give us new life. A new creation to begin again a new life, having been born again. Having received forgiveness for sin and a pardon from God's wrath, that very wrath you talk about. But God gave us a way out of His wrath when Yeshua our lamb paid for our sin. Again how loving is that our way out of God's wrath. Our new life. Our second chance to live rightly before our Holy righteous God our being born again to live right because God planned for us to not all receive His wrath yet His son for everyone, one for everyone and a way out, pardoned and free to live life righteous whole healed delivered, how loving oh so very loving that is. All that is in scripture too. Seek and find, learn who He is and obey and see more of it. Mark 4:24 the more you obey God the more He reveals to you, it means that. You’re right, spirit flourishes in good well being, and wearing face masks stifles the air (they certainly won’t stop microscopic viruses, it just helps bacteria to fester).
