UNESCO Global Geoparks cultivates the beauty of nature, culture and geology. Through geotourism and scientific research, they share the beautiful history of the land and of the indigenous people that live in these territories.
The 8 UNESCO Global Geoparks of the Latin America and Caribbean Region represent each unique geological heritage, beautiful landscapes and the typical culture of their communities and countries. The International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme of the UNESCO Montevideo Office in cooperation with the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network for Latin America and the Caribbean (GeoLAC Network), join efforts to showcase how these eight UNESCO Global Geoparks are an opportunity for sustainable development through geotourism.
