Total respect for you Pete and all at the museum. What great work you did, and are continuing to do preserving this beautiful ship. I have family that worked as shipwrights on these side trawlers (and others). Lowestoft, from the 40's-90's. Claridge's.
Brilliant. Glad I found this vid. I’m reading Lovely She Goes by William Mitford about arctic-trawling aboard Arctic Fox out of Grimsby. I’ve read this at least 3 times and watching this vid really places you aboard. If I was close I would love to polish the brass unfortunately I live in Australia. Cheers
Fantastic vid of a life gone by that funded so many others. The Humber really was a power house of earnings from the fishng industry to so many others..... the Humber was a big river !
Another fascinating video on thee unique Hull trawler, great tour by the former professional 'paintbrush engineer' too. Let's hope Hull's fishing industry returns to its former position in the world following Brexit, with corporate profit shares for all those seamen willing to brave the seas. That's if the Europeans have left us anything.
Visited the corsair while back, guide told my they have secured money for the refit. Well done, she did look bit tired. Hope the old sidewinder gets back too same condition sh was in her heyday.
She's currently sat in Alexandria Dock in temporary storage awaiting refit. Had to move off her old moorings due to environmental work currently underway on the River Hull.
love the old sidewinders, good to see one being preserved
I'm really looking forward to seeing this when it's finished. Well done Hull Council.

Pete's passion for the ship and the engine really comes through on this video. Thanks!

Great video
Very interesting video - will be great to visit it again in 2 years time :)
As of now it’s being readied for its new berth and museum.
When were you on the Corsair Pete? I did one trip as relief radio operator in 1974. Stan Barwick was the skipper then.
Was this originally berthed in Grimsby because I went aboard a big sidewinder there around 1992?
Top man Jim
