Yamaha generators are amazing, but well overdue for some updates. No frills, but incredibly reliable.

I own it. I live full time in a 2014 Keystone 299RET. During an outage, it runs the 15k A/C, the 6 gal. elec. water heater, the 10 cu.ft. residential fridge freezer and the microwave (700 watt RV size) simultaneously. I don't have a tach on it, but if I had to guess, with that load on it, it probably reved up from 2600 rpm to 2700/2800 rpm and was happy to run a load that size. I am upgrading to a 2020 Riverstone Legacy 39RKFB with three 15k A/C's. I may sell the EF4500ise and get the EF6300isde. The 4500 has no "ECO" switch, it is set to run at a low 2600 rpm (idle), then ramp up when needed, which it rarely does. The 6300 does have the ECO switch.

That's the first small generator that never ramped up as load increased that I've ever seen. Now, if only it weighed half as much. Yeah, I know, wishful thinking. BTW: I'm going to be away for about a month. Taking the camper up north to visit relatives and see fall colors. So don't be insulted if you don't see any smart azz comments from me for a while. Love ya' man!

Awesome generator. I’d love to have one for an RV back up, but the wheels and weight are a bummer.

No pull start???!!!! Nice generator, but the ability to pull start is a must in my opinion.

This one you’ll have to use a jump starter if the battery dies but if the starter goes out you’re stuck.
