TrapSoul was a project, originally a Mixtape. This was an actual album, more 'story' rather than instrumental/production & therefore a maturing stage from TrapSoul- his best album in my opinion.
Neiluss byla nah, i disagree. trapsoul has just as much if not more story, while managing to have better production and probably vocals too. this is still good but i feel like we might be looking at another illmatic situation where the debut is never topped.
jp kinsella if you're a fan of bryson you will know it wasn't a proper album with the effort and attention and care put into it, it's before he blew up. Don't compare a Mixtape to an Album. there's a reason for them being 2 different things.
I am absolutely OK with this not being as good as Trapsoul, if I'm honest I wanted more music that sounds like Trapsoul and I got it. Doesn't mean it's just another Trapsoul, this has lighter production and it's clear he's matured musically. It's different, but the origins are still there.
This album was a bit too repetitive for me. Don't get me wrong Bryson Tillier is my favorite R&B artist and in my opinion the best, I just feel that the beats used were very indistinguishable. Unlike this album, TRAPSOUL had very distinct songs and beats for the songs made, making TRAPSOUL my favorite album by Bryson. No way in shape or form am I saying that Bryson is a bad artist or that this album is bad, I'm just saying that when I first finished listening to this album, I could not go back and tell which tracks I liked the most. Other then that, the whole project is pretty amazing and I will definitely listen to it a couple more times cuz there was some nice tracks.
Marlon Jauregui sorry but I take issue with you calling him an R&B artist, how can he be you're fav r&b artist when he's not even truly r&b? It's kinda offensive to r&b purists tbh. At the same time, I get that Bryson's sound is hard to put in a box or just one genre.
oh my bad dude, I just presumed that he was an R&B artist. I just looked it up and found that R&B was something different. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
I personally can't say whether this album is better or worse than trapsoul. Both of the albums have different vibes to them that I enjoy at different times. One thing is for sure, B Tiller doesn't disappoint.
I really enjoyed this album. I listened to it start to finish three times now. The album is incredible but at this point in time I don't think I can say it's better than Trapsoul, but of course with any brand new album you want a bit of time to let it marinate and let it grow on you.
Since T R A P S O U L, Bryson don't stop to drop good music; but this album is somethin' strange in the feeling but changes radically his musical genre. Nice reaction bro
Demar DeGOATzan nigga what? The tiller album was good in first listen, the Gucci tape was good on first listen, All of Kendricks discography was good on first listen...
Demar DeGOATzan everytime bryson releases something i'm first like mm that could have been better, but after a few listens it grows on me!It's logical that after you listen to it for a while you start seeing how different and amazing the songs are,it just takes a lil time.
I know you still 8,000 away from 100k but I wanna just say congrats on even getting this far. I remember goin on UA-cam and seeing your Roy woods reaction and from there I was hooked. I've watched a lot of reaction/ reviewers like Pluto B and FTS but you definitely better than anyone I've seen( don't tell Mr. Melon lol). But I also wanna thank you for actually interacting with your subs because your one of the few UA-camrs that respond to comments and you've responded to a lot of mine. The good and the bad lol. We haven't seen eye to eye on some things but I want you to kno that I've got nothing but respect and love for you and I hope one day my channel can grow and impact people the way yours did. Once again congrats Shawn and keep doin you bro ✊🏽
Now that I think about it, maybe Bryson's signature rapped and sung hybrid vocals are inspired by Drake's Take Care track, cause I know at first when I heard Take Care, I thought is he singing or rapping really well? I couldn't tell. But then I realized Drake was bending his voice in a way were both vocals sounds like meet right in the middle. Idk at least that's how it sounded like to me.
Only gripes: It's long, & a tad redundant but not on a biracial level of redundant. The production is top-notch, the samples are fantastic. I don't listen to Bryson for lyrics, I listen to him for vibes and he brought them. The transitions between tracks are great. It's not a game-changer but it's really dope though. I give it a 8/10 based of enjoyment and I've only listened to it all the way through once.
Shawn Cee have you ever did anything on any of these artist if not would you please just want to know your opinion on them. RA the Rugged man,Tech n9ne,Vinnie Pazz or Brother Ali.
i think that becuz u kept comparing this album to trapsoul you missed all the points he was making in his songs. he is basically telling us everything that has been happening in his life which is why its been 2yrs since he gave us anything. he has a whole daughter, ppl been coming for him. he finally woke up and facing life he telling his life experiences. this album is one in itself, not up for comparison to trapsoul. its literally called true to self because he is literally being true to himself.
I didn't "keep" comparing it to trapsoul in the slightest lmao. Some of the musical attempts, vocal patterns and intentions weren't as well thought out here. Its pretty much 19 ok songs and nothing more. I get that he's being true to himself, but you can do that in more entertaining ways. Nothing really stands out and has massive replay value. Most people won't even be listening to this project at all by 2018.
Jamelle Moore The debut album doesn't have as much pressure to perform well. When you put out a project like Trapsoul, your expectations are way higher so you tend to do a little too much at times.
Was waiting on Shawn as soon as I listened to it😁😍... about this project though: it was cool, you know, a few gems (no bad songs) generally alright. Kinda like More Life in that respect 🤔, though I enjoyed this more.

Marlon Jauregui listen to it more than once lol
I know, def will. Just stating my first reaction, thanks though!

NOTIFICATION GANG!!!!
Run me dry is my shit🔥🔥🔥
Shawn Cee have you ever did anything on any of these artist if not would you please just want to know your opinion on them. RA the Rugged man,Tech n9ne,Vinnie Pazz or Brother Ali.
Have you ever heard of Shabazz Palaces? They're a hip hop duo from Seattle. You should react to them, highly recommend.
i was hoping you'd love High Stakes as much as i did :(( but regardless i love this videooooo
Oh no you getting me tight with this review

That Sample from FEEL was pretty decent caught it instantly
Great reaction💯👏
i think that becuz u kept comparing this album to trapsoul you missed all the points he was making in his songs. he is basically telling us everything that has been happening in his life which is why its been 2yrs since he gave us anything. he has a whole daughter, ppl been coming for him. he finally woke up and facing life he telling his life experiences. this album is one in itself, not up for comparison to trapsoul. its literally called true to self because he is literally being true to himself.

Most people won't even be listening to this project at all by 2018.
Why is every artist dropping worse albums compared to their last album🤧but I still really enjoy this album I think it is equal to trapsoul
Jamelle Moore The debut album doesn't have as much pressure to perform well. When you put out a project like Trapsoul, your expectations are way higher so you tend to do a little too much at times.
"Nevermind this interlude" sounds a bit like "remember it all " by jace
Can you please review Yo Trane // Late Night Drive, the closest you'll get to the trapsoul vibe!
I'm loving the album 🔥🔥
same sample as kendrick's feel? u got it
High stakes was mos def my fav track
Take a look at Busdriver's 'Perfect Hair'. I want to see your opinion on it cuz IMO its the best experimental rap album to date.
Was waiting on Shawn as soon as I listened to it😁😍... about this project though: it was cool, you know, a few gems (no bad songs) generally alright. Kinda like More Life in that respect 🤔, though I enjoyed this more.
