Palm trees have been grown in Cambodia for many years. They are long life trees which have been found most in Takeo, Kandal and Kampong Speu Province. There are several advantages of palm trees.
The first advantage is that their leaves and branches, are used to make roofs and other materials for using in homes, so some farmers do not have to spend much money on building. The second advantage is that their fruits are used for vegetables, foods and making sweet. Moreover, their leaves and branches are not only used to make roofs but also for firewood. The third advantage is that their trunks are used some farts of the buildings and furniture with high quality.
For the most important point is that, each palm trees can give hundreds of liters of palm juice to make palm sugar which is delicious and have no chemical substances. Furthermore, palm wine is also used for some drink instead of wine or beer.
In my conclusion, I think that every parts of Palm Tree as I described above are useful for Cambodian people, so we have to prevent and plant more for our next generations.
