A very nice fly Charlie. You did a great job with the wings, a representative spanish dry fly.

Great session Charlie and kudos to Antonio for inventing it. That new camera really lets us see those small flies in great detail.

Great bug! Love the midge and BWO versions of this one! Those midges can be tricky to keep track of! Great video 😀

Since I live just down the street from FRA and have known Antonio for a few years, I am excited that you twisted up one of his comp dry fly patterns. With so much bad vibes in the world it is great to see the mutual admiration of fellow fly tiers at the zenith high end of artistry. Thanks for sharing. Oh, would you Gink a fly like this?

If you like ratty, ulgy flies, have I got some flies for you. :-) This reminds me of so many Marc Petitjean patterns. He'll often tie the CDC stem in, twist/wrap it and it looks really good.

I have tied and fished the emerger. It’s an awesome fly. I’ll have to tie these up as well.

Love it :) I aspire to achieve the level of craft you call clean, now that I’ve been tying for awhile I’ve pondered how the term “buggy” made its way into the vocabulary to describe these type of flies…. insects are very uniform creatures that wear their skeletons on the outside of their bodies and I’ve always argued your fashion of “clean tying” was more “buggy” than what is typically attributed to these sorts of patterns, excuse my ignorance

Hi Charlie, thanks for the video. How would using a dubbing loop or splitting the thread then inserting the CDC and dubbing that way work compared to twisting the CDC onto the thread?

Can you use cdc puffs rather than the feathers. I have a bunch of puffs that I don’t know exactly what to do with. Thanks.
