I think this really sad because she just wanted to make him happy and let him know that him just loving her and their kids will always be enough. But, he thought his legacy was more important or acted that way, and she had to keep fighting for her husband's love. She just wanted to be happy with her husband, but instead, became known as the poor wife who's husband cheated on her and told the whole world through some pamphlet. She was an incredible woman, who just loved her husband and children, and was willing to forgive, because that's how kind and loving she is. I hope I can become a fraction of a woman she was.
It’s so sad. Eliza is such an admirable woman. Hamilton was constantly focused on his legacy, and made so many mistakes. He didn’t realize family and love was enough until he made some of the biggest mistakes, an affair and sending his son off to a duel which ended in his death. I really really admire pippa for this, the kindness and gentleness of eliza’s personality, she conveyed it PERFECTLY through her voice it feels as if ive really knew eliza. her love for alexander, and the way she asks him to stay oh god she really really delivered each and every lyric perfectly! AND where she sings burn, her gentle kind voice suddenly turns mad and thats just amazing! ive seen so many singers cover eliza’s songs but no one ever comes close to pippa, the emotions in her voice is just simply mesmerizing and satisfying! god I wish I could see hamilton live with the original casts :-(

Much more disappointing is that Burr cheated on Theodosia and got away with it, then going on to commit many adulterous affairs in Europe before remarrying again Contrast to Hamilton who cheated once with an abused woman who guilt tripped him by telling him if he didn't help her that way, her husband would kill her and her daughter. Around the time when Theo was ill and would then die from intestinal cancer (or cancer, I don't know which one) - Burr cheated on her with one of the servants I guess it was because Theo was dying and he didn't know how to cope with it but yeah, it's still horrible Edit: after the duel, Burr would then commence the stupidity of trying to take over some state for the Spanish and become the ruler of said state - needless to say it failed and Jefferson (still president at the time) put up charges for treason on Burr which would have put him in jail or would have gotten him executed Burr fled to Europe where he was pretty much on the loose and chasing skirts. What you gotta pity is that the man didn't want Hamilton to die, regretted it and his daughter was lost at sea a few years after the duel (before Burr planned the coup of claiming state territory for himself and Spain)

Contrast to Hamilton who cheated once with an abused woman who guilt tripped him by telling him if he didn't help her that way, her husband would kill her and her daughter. He's then honest about the affair, even having told Eliza about before he published the pamphlet and her reacting appropriate while also understanding and then taking some time for herself, putting some distance between them
Heck, both Alexander and Eliza had a crush during their early years of marriage on a certain John André - so they are somewhat of a good match for each other

Edit: after the duel, Burr would then commence the stupidity of trying to take over some state for the Spanish and become the ruler of said state - needless to say it failed and Jefferson (still president at the time) put up charges for treason on Burr which would have put him in jail or would have gotten him executed
Burr fled to Europe where he was pretty much on the loose and chasing skirts. What you gotta pity is that the man didn't want Hamilton to die, regretted it and his daughter was lost at sea a few years after the duel (before Burr planned the coup of claiming state territory for himself and Spain)
