This album saved my life one night. I was getting chased on the freeway by some road-rager, and I had this CD in my player. It kept me going and wouldn't let me give up. I got away.
JoeTheAnimal71 I mean, its a coincidence that you were listening to this song and that guy chased you and you kept the player on all the way through and the song gave you inspiration not to give up.
Right? I still listen to early Soulfly, Factory 81, Skrape, American Head Charge, Slaves on Dope and others. It's a great musical style. Oh and Twin Method's really good too.
They had their 15 mins, but they don't compare to Chimaria. And I liked their one album alot. Actually think it's one of the best NuMetal albums of the era.
I still bang this trk in my car along with others from "mankind" wish I would have seen these guys live back then.. wonder what they would sound like now if they had a come back album? F81 is still one of my top bands.. Stay up guys
I remeber the 1st time i seen you guys & ONLY time i seen you guyz live. It was not only my first time seeing Factory 81 live it was first time that week seeing Nothingface as well.. Hell yea man ill check your band out.. Man i miss the shit out of these days!!💯🤘🤘🤘
I can't believe this has ONLY 21,000 views. This is an awesome song. These days there are not many good bands. Everything is so fuckin commercialised. THIS IS A GOOD SONG...
This show was badass. they did it at st andrews hall was there for the taping kickin some ass in the pit. i broke my ankle there some dude fell on me and i went down hard. lol wish they still put out some stuff lost track after they toured japan for a while, then they came back to the wired frog where it started and did a show last time i saw them.
did the drive from Chicago to Detroit a few times to see these guys at St. Andrew's Hall and Wired Frog or Electric Frog.. some kinda frog... and i remember when they played with Mudvayne down in Peoria, IL... Think i saw em once in Tennessee with Kitty too.. Hell, i traveled around to see this band more than most, lol. I hear Kevin (bass player) just released an album with his new band too.. wish i could remember the name.
Fav Nu/Rap Metal Bands (in whatever order) - Rage Against the Macine, Korn, Deftones, Kittie, Factory 81, Taproot, Papa Roach, Hed Pe, Disturbed, System of a Down, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Primmer 55, Coal Chamber, Snot, Shuvel, Chevelle, Soulfy, ILL Nino, 40 Below Summer, Flaw, Slaves on Dope, Puya, Fear Factory, Limp Bizkit (that's right I said it!), Incubus, Hoobastank, Chimaria, Motograter, Dry Kill Logic, Nothingface, Mudvanye, Nonpoint, Union Underground, Apartment 26, Machine Head, Static X
dudeitsmax1 That's fucking sick bro... I would mark the fuck out if I saw a group cover old school nu metal acts like Factory 81 at Battle of The Bands.
Watch your back into the face that you don't wanna see You watch yourself 'cause you're livin' out your fuckin' dream Hide your face as you wanna take away again Got your back, livin' out your fuckin' trend Hit yourself as you look again Yea we're slipping in the fast lane Hit yourself as you hit the wall It's their time to fall
I was there when they did part of the video shoot at the Wired Frog Coffeehouse & Entertainment Complex (formerly the Eastwood Theater) when it was on Gratiot Avenue just before 8 Mile Road (the exact same road in Eminem's movie, "8 Mile") in Eastpointe, Michigan back on September 29, 2000.
Wow, back in the day metal vocalist that can sing clearly and have good rough vocals seemed to be a dime a dozen. Now it only seems to be one way or the other.
Hit yourself as you're letting go Yea, he was drifting in the fast lane Hit your back as you hit the wall Now it's their time to fall Got yourself, 'cause you'll think, but you'll wanna see You're not the one who's been living off this fucking dream Got yourself 'cause you'll wanna take away again Got your back, livin' out your fucking trip
The first time I saw Chimaira and ILL Nino, they opened for these guys. Talk about getting your money's worth. Chimaira would probably be ashamed to open for these guys now. lol
Now free from what you see All the times I see, and I don't know again I like that I was playing keep away I like to think that I'm going down I'll fake it all, and I'll watch again I like the pink inside me I'll fake it all as I strip away I like the things that unwind me And I forgive you for all the life See into my face and see through me And all the pain that I tuck away Those things that I thought can't find me
@jcannion I was gonna go to that show, but I changed my mind. I was scared that they would play all newer shit and none of their old (good) songs. Did they play any older stuff? I wonder if they realize how many fans they lost, by changing their sound so drastically. Man, I miss the good old days.
STONE COLD they both formed in 1997 and did do a few shows together and were friends as well back then so it makes sense they'd have a lil bit of similarities. miss those days
@jcannion I seen this guys on a Satuday in Freeport IL headline a show with Ill Nino and 40 Below Summer then the next Tuesday in Clinton IA headline a show with Chimaira and Switched... Back in Aug of 01.... O to be 16 again
better late than never, and since they're disbanded =( won't be seeing any new material. Unfortunately most of their good songs aren't even on youtube.
Damn!Dat's some stuff!!Unfourtunately they split up in 2003(heh, 10 years ago!!!).They have been showin' up for only 6 years(1997-2003)-sucha short term!Whatever, cool nu-metal classics!
What are you talking about I first heard of Factory 81 in the late 90s, how are they 10 years too late compared to those bands you mentioned? I'm 26 my friend brought me a F81 demo when I was 14.
Now... I... 'ea, yea I'll fight and I'll watch again Now... I... 'ea, nothing is what it seems now The way it was, the way it is And you were better than I am now What the fuck, now you're gonna end up in a wall You were the one who showed me all the little dumb things that I say And no one will forgive me! Now, you hit me and I'll hide Now, you hit me and I'll hide... aww yea... yea... Now, I... Now, I...
dont forget breakdown jeans....but yes those were the days werent they....did your chain wallet ever get stuck in the chair and then u would tke the chair with u when u got up
It's pretty obvious why they didn't make it.. there is nothing that is orginal in their music.. I've hear this shit over and over again just from a different band.
I would appreciate it if you all saw the lyric video l made for Factory 81 - SSBB I put a lot of time into that and l believe the song deserves more attention Thank you
they broke up in late 2001 or early 2002 cuz they got fucked over by their contract, and lable. universal i think it was, or knoch.I was at the wierd frog video shoot for this song. I still have their demo tape from 2000
This band is seriously the most overlooked bands of my time but what do i know? All i know is that when i see a video of heaviest breakdowns of all time, why isn't factory 81 in the top 5? 2:21
Still better than ANYTHING on the radio these days
This album saved my life one night. I was getting chased on the freeway by some road-rager, and I had this CD in my player. It kept me going and wouldn't let me give up. I got away.

JoeTheAnimal71 I mean, its a coincidence that you were listening to this song and that guy chased you and you kept the player on all the way through and the song gave you inspiration not to give up.

JoeTheAnimal71 Doing Mad Max shit before it was cool, i guess :D

Stay up guys

havnt herd this song in sooo long
Watch your back into the face that you don't wanna see
You watch yourself 'cause you're livin' out your fuckin' dream
Hide your face as you wanna take away again
Got your back, livin' out your fuckin' trend
Hit yourself as you look again
Yea we're slipping in the fast lane
Hit yourself as you hit the wall
It's their time to fall

In 2003, bassist Kevin Lewis and drummer Andy Cyrulnik left the group, prompting Factory 81 to disband.[5]
Wow, back in the day metal vocalist that can sing clearly and have good rough vocals seemed to be a dime a dozen. Now it only seems to be one way or the other.
Hit yourself as you're letting go

Another BAD ASS DETROIT band
After looking through a stack of CD's, there stood Factory 81. A few skips but it still plays
Ah, the good ol' days.
Now free from what you see
All the times I see, and I don't know again
I like that I was playing keep away
I like to think that I'm going down
I'll fake it all, and I'll watch again

The real shame is that Chimaira changed so much and Factory 81 is over. ¬¬
oh SHIT MAN THE FUCKING WIRED FROG, NOW that BRINGS BACK SOME GOOD MEMORIES
man this is probably in my top five nu metal bands..
KoRn
deftones
rage against the machine
factory 81
finger eleven.
I hear a lil taproot in there
STONE COLD they both formed in 1997 and did do a few shows together and were friends as well back then so it makes sense they'd have a lil bit of similarities. miss those days
STONE COLD Taproot + Deftones (Adrenaline era)

@faithresigns I agree, my copy was played to it could be played no more. Cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Ésta canción sería perfecta para un GMV de FlatOut 2.

I'd say it was around 2002/2003 when that happened.
this is REAL nu METAL!
@jcannion I seen this guys on a Satuday in Freeport IL headline a show with Ill Nino and 40 Below Summer then the next Tuesday in Clinton IA headline a show with Chimaira and Switched... Back in Aug of 01.... O to be 16 again

Hello everyone,
does anyone know how I can rip the video from this Enhaced CD??
I loved this shit when i was in middle school
>> play again
it's true.
hope they are still active these days. :(
Father Nü metal
top 5 nu metal groups that should've made it big because they are amazing!
1. 40 Below Summer
2. Factory 81
3. Flaw
4. Primer 55
5. Five Foot Thick
I'd throw Puya in there as well.
It's sad those bands got famous. F81 stomps them both.
yeah, well it actually sounds like a mix of tool (his clean singin) and 40 below summer/black market hero (the screamin/rappin' parts).
dont forget breakdown jeans....but yes those were the days werent they....did your chain wallet ever get stuck in the chair and then u would tke the chair with u when u got up
@jaylei101 So why did they break-up? They have an excellent sound.
maybe to you lol, F81 was my favorite band.
is it just me or does this remind me of the Deftones??
Are they not around anymore?
YEAH I WAS LISENING TO THEM IN 00/01 THAY ARE NOT NEW
It's pretty obvious why they didn't make it.. there is nothing that is orginal in their music.. I've hear this shit over and over again just from a different band.
