Electricity costs 2.2 cents from midnight to 7AM where I live, so 23.1 cents a night. Not a lot of money to stay warm! Plus that assumes they aren't thermostat controlled and kick off and on.
I pay $0.14 a KWH, I pay $0.11 per cubic meter for gas. my furnace takes 1.6 KWH.. a natural gas generator uses 1 cubic metre to produce 7 KWH, that means i will pay $0.11 for 7 KWH.. oil filled heater is the best going off experience!
It all pretty much comes down to preference. Mica style heaters have their niche and fall somewhere between an infrared and ceramic style unit, but they still consume and release the same amount of energy as the other models. Thanks for tuning in!
Why are you running the unit all night while you are in bed ? ? ? Isn’t that what blankets and comforters are for to keep you warm at night ? ? The home heating system is usually turned a bit cooler at night as you are in bed with the “blankets and comforters”. And then there is that whole fire hazard thing with portable units, and while you are asleep that tends to not be a good thing. Turn them off when you go to sleep or you might wake up dead…….. and that is definitely not a good thing, as it will ruin your whole day forever.
