The feed issue, most times, on these budget firearms, can be solved by polishing the feed ramp.

I learned something a few years ago that has proven quite helpful. Mag followers are designed to present a certain cartridge at the optimum angle. If you're using M193 in a USGI mag, the old black followers present them at the optimum angle. But M855 requires a different angle, hence the green followers. M855A1 requires a much different angle for obvious reasons. Some companies try to do it all with one follower, but they may not have it exactly right for that particular rifle.

You better hope it's a feed ramp issue and not a out of battery detonation due to the locking lugs not being secured into the chamber due to the roll pin near the bolt face coming out. FYI one of the main warranty issues with BCA.

Any rifle can be made to run. Sadly most buyers are comment commandos and have no real world build experience past pushing in two pins. The AR platform is correctible, repairable, and upgradable. That said, the AR platform, the operation of the Direct Impingement, bolt carrier group, spring, and buffer, was designed to be shouldered.
BCA makes quality products, but they do not pay a lot of bearded, tatted up dudes, to scream about them. Spend your money on that Danny Defender, and let it sit in your safe, so you can say you have it. Or, buy a PSA or BCA, do some basic maintenance, and buy 1000 rounds of ammo and learn your rifle. Or you can just keep denigrating other brands to make yourself feel better.

I do t baby any of my shit but honestly man for the money spent you're 110 percent correct, psa and bear creek make solid shit and both can be tweaked and tuned if neccessary or just because you want to. Been doin it for years and my truck gun is actually a bastard of both psa and bca along with some small upgrades for my preference to make the overall system more to my liking. I learned with the first AR that I ever owned, and it was a Colt,.....when you first but your AR, regardless of make, ....take out the bolt and Rem oil the snot out of it. Then manually manipulate the bolt in your hand. You would not believe all of the crap that comes out of your oil ports . Do this over and over , respraying new rem oil I to the oil ports, the work the bolt some more. Before long, the oil that comes out of the ports is clean, and you'll notice that the bolt aperture slides down and turns flawlessly. After I did this, I've never had another jam in any of my ARs👍

So here's my assessment on Bear Creek Arsenal: I own two uppers from them. One being a 10.5" free float MLOK chambered in 5.55 NATO, and the other is a 20" A2 style upper with a detachable carry handle. They both function for me, although the screws on the 10.5" started to come out during my initial operational testing. This was resolved using some blue Loctite. The 20" upper initially had some issues feeding, but after applying an excessive amount of CLP to the critical upper parts, it ate everything I fed it.
Are they budget tier products? Yes, they are. Is their Quality Control in need of improvement? I would say so. Between my experience and the countless reviews I have seen on UA-cam and read online, my personal opinion is that no company in the business of firearms should have quality control measures that are all over the map. They should be consistent for the most part.

I don't own a BCA rifle. However, I took an AR15 armorer class at an NRA approved gunsmithing school in 2023. The lowers were all BCA. I dont know if the uppers were BCA or some other brand. They were super basic, M4 carbines with 1:7 twist sixteen inch barrels. Really lightweight. I stripped the BCA lower receiver and upper and put it back together ten or twelve times in two days. The BCA lower receiver seemed durable as hell to me. Same with the upper receiver. I never shot it, but that BCA M4 carbine seemed durable enough and I am rough on equipment.

My first ever ar was a bca 7.62x39 upper on a psa lower. To be clear, I replaced the factory firing pin with an enhanced firing pin from another company. Using c-produts defense mags, I never had an issue through a few thousand rounds. I ended up replacing the barrel only because it was very heavy and Faxon offers a mid length gas 7.62x39 barrel (which is better and recommended). Purchased two other barrels only from bca and they always work fine. I also have DD, Faxon, and BA barrels, and yes they are slightly more accurate with a wider range of ammo. So, yes there are better options, and I wouldn’t buy one now that I have experience with other companies, but they do work fine in my experience. If you’re an accuracy snob you’ll want a better brand, but to throw some lead and have fun, bca all day. And if you needed it, I’m sure it would perform the same as it has on the range, well.

There are too many snobs out there. You get what you pay for. What you usually pay so much for is a name and the final polishing type shit. BCA saves you a lot of money by not doing these things. Grow a set and learn how the platform you're buying works and how to do the very easy to do things to finish them up. I've bought two, 450bm and 350 legend pistol. Both needed cleaned, polished, and broken in. Magazines don't like 350 and need fine-tuned, but nobody is bashing every magazine company out there for it? You want a gun that runs flawless out of the box? You're going to spend many times more for it, and it's not guaranteed. My first AR was a S&W M&P 15 and it hadn't even been drilled for the gas block hole from factory, a $1000 single shot AR. I didn't bash S&W, I had a smith drill the hole and moved on. Never bought an expensive AR again.

I very rarely see any bad reviews on BCA. The ones that are bad, are the knuckle heads that buy the 7.62x39 with a 7.5 inch barrel. Everybody knows that 7.62x39 is a very unreliable round for this platform. BCA gets away with selling at a lower price, cause they build every component on the AR platform. They do not import any of the parts. Even PSA cant say they do this. Most of BCA AR's now have a hammer forged barrel, cause BCA recently bought the machining for Hammer forging barrels. In the past, I have owned at least 8 or 9 of there AR's, and never had any issues, for the exception of the 7.62x39.

For me, customer service is a big factor in my decision on who to buy a firearm from. I know if I have any issues with my S&Ws or Rugers, they will make it right. Not so sure about BCA. For what it's worth, I have a BCA upper in 7.62 x 39 that has so far run great.
In my opinion, you are better off dropping another $100 and getting something from PSA (Palmetto State Armory) if you can afford it. I have an AR 10 in 308 from them that is a blast to shoot. I am also using a PSA lower on the BCA upper I mentioned above.

Having worked many years in auto and then in Semi tractor- trailer repair, also a home repair
Man. So, like many others watching this, it comes to my attention a few things
    A) quality control is lacking in almost all, if not all, manufacturing companies, in almost all industries. Note..Boeing
    B) if a billion dollar +/- jet corp has quality control issues, the necessities of tightening a few loose screws for an inexpensive firearm that could be a lot of fun as well as a truck gun should not be a problem. Watch enough video reviews and you will see something of everything that is junk.
    C) There are ar's that cost thousands ( as well as cars that definitely ain't worth the cost) that can be purchased
    D) You can also build your own and then you know that quality control is above reproach, but it probably would not be under $500 dollars.
    E) buy the inexpensive one, polish the loading ramp, blue loc-tite screws, and as at least one instructor stated " buy extra firing pins, screw, locking pins ect." He was talking guns in general, not for "cheapo" guns. He stated " threre is always a chance of something breaking at the worst possible time. For that very reason, if I go on that special hunt, I didn't Just take my favorite, rifle, I took my next favorite rifle, just in case.
    F) Buy the cheap one, fix the glitches, buy alot of ammo, and have a time of family fun. It will build eternal memories.

The only thing I have a complaint about is that their upper is about a pound heavier than a PSA of same caliber and length...which can be bit fatiguing when humping it around all day on a hunt, or after a long day at the range, even more so for tiny 5.2 wife.

Good stuff, I've been usin their side charging uppers since the first gen. Second gen is a better upper in my opinion but for a low cost option they're great. I've had them in 5.56, 300 blackout, 450 bushmaster and 50 Beowulf. All have been pretty damn awesome and have all been reliable, and extremely accurate. I've put alot of meat in the freezer with them and actually built one as my go to hunting rifle, and another as a dedicated truck gun. Most would freak out over that but it's about weighing out price and reliability when talkin about stuff like a dedicated truck gun. Your not gonna keep a 2500 rifle in your vehicle at all times let's be honest.. and if you do well you're makin alot more then I am bud lol. God bless from ole Carolina.

The feed issue was likely because the mag was not properly seated since it did fall out when you pulled back on your charging handle.
I do not know about this specific model but I saw a video of another model where the hammer was polymer and teh buffer tube was permanently attached. Those are two red flags for me. Some may say "hey its cheap so it is what it is". If it is cheap enough for you to justify that for your purchase more power to you. Have fun and enjoy your rifle (or in this case I think it is suppose to be a pistol...I am not playing ATF word games it is a rifle).
