    Fantastic layout and congrats on 2k+ subs! The progress is awesome. Once I complete my smaller industrial park layout and use it as my test subject of learning and progressing my knowledge and experience in taking my layouts to a higher level of quality I’ll get back to working on my triple decker, top decks not been built system fried a few years back when I didn’t have funds to replace it but bottom two levels are fully operational and basic scenery in place. Just hope I can achieve the level of quality and detail you and many other UA-cam model railroaders reach, awesome!

    Great achievement with the hundred, my N scale long train experiments have proven the sentient nature of the model machines - waiting until the rake is on a concave curve before snagging to bring on a string line, pulling cars to the valley below (is . The physics doesn't scale, we modellers live in a different universe. In 2016 I visited the US Open golf at Oakmont, I didn't know before arrival that the B&LE runs though the middle of the golf course before crossing the massive bridge across the Allegheny that you have included on your layout

    • @johnwhatmore163
      @johnwhatmore163 3 дні тому

      Sorry, touch tablet premature send syndrome, anyway the cars seem to find the floor when I tempt fate with a long one. How are going to approach the construction of that bridge, I guess you'll have to scratch the trusses in brass ? It will keep you busy for a while.😊

    Another grand slam progress video Ray. I really do not know where to start. The engine facility which is awesome. Can't wait to see it completed. One knows they are doing something right when it looks awesome and its not even completed yet. The 100 car ore drag which I have deemed "The Mother Load" was outstanding. Going through the helix was suburb. With only what? 3, 4 derailments only shows your skills in laying rail bed and track. Not to mention the work you have done on your rolling stock. Its a testament to your meticulous attention to detail. Bravo and congratulations on the milestone. I cant wait for the next up-date.

    I don't have the space, time, or money to get into the hobby although I've always wanted to. When my son was younger he was really into trains and dinosaurs. He really didn't take to Thomas but liked a cartoon called Chuggington and we bought him their die cast railroad sets and I spent hours setting them up for him to play with.
    Your roundhouse, maintenance sheds, offices and yard have given me great ideas to try in the city building game Cities Skylines. Some great modders on there that have a ton of assets for railroads. It's the closest I can get to model railroads currently. I tried to build the massive freight yard that is north of Pittsburgh a few times but my current gaming pc is limited. Seeing how you did the transfer table has given me something to work on. Love the updates.

    I grew up listening to the B&LE making it's way through Culmerville from just a fews hill over to the east in Fawn Township. We lived on top of a hill, so I could hear them pretty clear. Now I live in Grove City. So pretty much my whole life I've been listening to the B&LE. I get excited when I see the orange paint every now and then again. Usually it's paried up with the old Missabe painted unit.

    I was born in 1944 last day of year. When I was about 3 or so every time I heard a train whistle I would run to the front window to see the trains go by. I saw lots of steam trains before there were diesel engines. Probably around 1948. Even saw a caboose hop with several going east behind one steamer as more trains moved west. Coal trains were popular as coal moved from W Virginia to Lake Erie to be dumped into large ore boats as many as 4 trains per day roamed the rails turning at Sterling, Ohio to head be unloaded at the ports. Then one morning when mom was in the house and had forgot about me, I crossed the road and walked down a cow lane to cross another road to see trains up close and personal. When I heard a train whistle, a diesel coming west and flying fast as he was pulling a passenger train, I climbed up n the blinker light which were mounted on a concrete post. My short sleeves whipped my skin as he flew by going west towards Chicago. I was 3 years of age. A man sitting in e car near by came to rescue me and take me home. Mom didn't know him nor did he know me, but he figured I had to love near by. Mom hugged the life out of me and it never happened again, but to this day I get excited when hearing trains whistles coming near. Loved the long train and where there are derailments put in a rerailer. Even place them at yards on either end to have less derailments. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

    If you’re not too solidified on decoders, ESU is an amazing option. I found a method that I haven’t seen anywhere else of making consisting extremely easy, along with the possibility of adding multiple function maps. I have a video on it on my channel. As far as I’m aware, no one else knows about this. If you do decide to watch it, just know it’s kinda cringey. I apologize, it’s my first time.

    The only thing wrong with a 100 car train for 2000 subscribers is ,what will you do for 3000?

    This is classic, not just because of the monumental task he's set for himself but because of the political statement. He, like the rest of us watching this, is a true Right Winger. A guy who goes off by himself with patience, sweat, talent, and purpose, and BUILDS something. A Left Winger ,on the other hand, would get a bunch of people together (so the blame can't be pinned on him alone) and go off and destroy something. That's the difference between the fringe Left and Right. We build and we're proud of it. And yes, I watched until the end. A lot of inspiration here. People like him don't get enough credit for their accomplishments because they're not front-page news.
