I’m curious how to use multiple boxes with song mode to create a track, then using Overbridge to mix it in Ableton. It’s already a bit of a pain with just the Syntakt, having to recreate the reverb and delay and panning. I have to imagine it’ll only get trickier!
I can imagine Song mode could work with overbridge recording if Ableton is in slave mode. Do when the Elektrons are midi master it should work. And yeah, i also try to find my way around this fx track in overbridge. Thanks for watching! 🙌

I always use my Dikitakt as the master of the setup. I suppose it doesn’t matter which you use.

I used the DT before as the master too. But since i have the Syntakt i somehow feel like it’s the master now, because in my head the DT is just an addition to the analog machine to play samples on top. I don’t know, maybe it’s weird to think like that 😅 Thanks for watching! 🙌

That is a very interesting point, however, I think it applies to most of groove boxes. My first week of owning Digitakt 2 ended with slight disappointment about the limitations of this machine, but then I added to it my Roland SH4d - a completely different story. I don't think there is an "ultimate" groove box/synth that will do all (maybe Akai MPC Live is very close) and it's always more fun and possibility to have at least 2 devices - from the same or different "family".

Absolutely! If you combine them with other synths and trigger them from the Elektron sequencer, thing get really interesting and it’s fun to play! I also don’t like to have 1 machine to do it all.. i need at least 2 to play around with 😄 Thanks for watching! 🙌

They cripple each device so you're forced to buy them all just get an MPC and don't look back

nice video thx ! To me the real power unleashes when you pair elektron boxes with other gear, for ex, with a push you can play the boxes with pads, or play a melody on a single channel and get expressive. Another config is to midi control ext synth with the boxes and sequence presets or midi CCs. If your pair the machines with an ableton drumm rack you can add specif effects either on master or specific tracks, etc.
Yeah absolutely! They play nicely together with other gear for sure. With some exceptions.. some devices like MPC for example patterns change one bar late when they are in midi slave mode. I have a Digitakt 2 and a Digitone 2, thinking about getting a Syntakt to complete the set but still debating about it 😁 I have the Analog Heat MK2 also. Convince me other wise not to get the Syntakt 🤣

hmm... I'd say the two you have are more than enough. The Syntakt is very weird in terms of sound territory. Hard to "tune".

Does the 64 steps of the syntakt limit the other devices that have 128?
For me it’s not limiting in any way. I use the 128 steps of the Digitone 2 together with the 64 steps from Digitakt 1 and Syntakt. But i use trig conditions 2:2 & 4:4 a lot and love i so far 🤩 You just have to take care of when to change patterns ☝️ Thanks for watching! 🙌
Nice video! How do u pattern chain one or more other digi box that when slaved? I’m using two boxes but I’m not yet connecting them outside of stop n start with midi.

I'll attempt to help fix a smart ass's overall oversight here, if you are of the opinion to not favour Elektrons... To suggest don't make us of them? That's fine, each to their own for a opinion? But it's probably better using your time constructively while finding, viewing or commenting on YT stuff u actually enjoy & have interests towards.
