YES! Most people don't realize that cars "crumple" in an accident. You can have a minor accident, and the doors won't open. You can also have a minor accident, and smoke coming from the engine (that means run). And water...I had a friend drive off a boat ramp in the town she grew up in because of fog. Your doors and windows do not open under water. You have 2 minutes. Get a window breaker.

thank you! I grew up in the 70s and 80s and missed the 60s but I feel like the 70s were pretty darn colorful too and I have always loved bright colors - so now I get to make my van a rolling fort just how I would have done as a kid if I would have had the means and freedom to!
You're so right about the extra pair of glasses. A few years ago, I was walking to my car in strong wind and rain. The wind knocked my glasses from my face and into the storm drain. Since then, I always have a backup pair plus prescription sunglasses.
They really are. I mean, they don't ever try to take over the radio station, they are too preoccupied with each other to be back seat drivers and neither of them snore!
great video...thanks for sharing.. what do you cook with? prepare meals with? do you have something like a coleman gas stove? also, how do you heat your van?(cold weather)
Thank you! I don't really cook when I was in my van full time. I found it was easier to just stop and get food on my way. Or make sandwiches and eat things that I needed to keep cold - fruit, veggies, sandwiches, peanut butter, nuts, etc and then for dinners I would just get something warm in town if I wanted a meal and then save my leftovers and warm them up with my hot logic the next day. I'm more of a snacker in my daily life and eat small things throughout the day so for breakfast I just do yogurt and fruit etc and lunches usually sandwiches. Dinners - I either stop at the store and get something cooked in the deli or hit up a nice mom and pop small business in whatever town I am visiting because I love to support local communities when I travel. My "Kitchen" has plates/bowls/utensils etc, a small mini toaster I can use to warm up pizza or make an english muffin, a small contraption to boil water for tea or soup etc but 99.9999% of the time if I want something hot, I will go find it. For heat, I use an electric water bottle or heating pad as well as just warming up my van to as hot as I can stand it before I crawl into bed at night and then remote start if I need to warm it up again but I haven't spent a lot of time in colder places where I need anything more than that. :)
What a great van tour. I love all the fabrics and colors, and your habit of keeping smaller items contained in bags and any colorful container. I had a 2018 Grand Caravan and loved it for camping. You definitely made yours prettier than I did, and it was so well thought out. Blessings to you and safe travels.

In him alone have I found true love, joy and peace beyond understanding. I was in my car the moment I finally prayed and asked him to show me he was real and he did. :) Thank you! Yes! I keep a good stock in my van and it always feels nice to be able to help. I don't like giving them money because I don't want to accidentally help them get substances they are struggling with but I do want to make sure they get a little bit of food. I also had one instance where someone at a park was having an insulin reaction and was crashing hard with no sugar and no one had any candies or anything so I ran to my van and got a chocolate covered granola bar and some almonds and he perked right back up. :D

I aint gone lie, this is sooo cute. I’ve seen plenty but this is super personalized. From the kitchen to seatbelt, I love this. I’m trying to convince my 4 teenagers if we can van life/RV for like a week in summer. I almost got em. Now they would need alot of space and I’m scared to drive them big ass RV’s lol. Sometimes I wanna van life ALONE for a few days.

I am a full-time Van lifer from upstate NY now in Arizona! I have the same van, a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. It's perfect for me and my dog blue. Has way more to offer than most big vans!👍👍
Oh that is awesome! I agree. I almost got myself a sprinter but realized I like to get out of my van and explore and take pictures and go see things so my van is mostly for sleeping honestly. I don't spend much time in my van except at night when i am traveling because I am out exploring and living life during the day. :)

He was the best travel companion for a while there when it was just him and I. He just looked pretty, never argued about which music station to watch, never needed to stop to use the bathroom and doesn't snore. Now Matt A Dore and he just don't even notice I am in the van anymore. They just stare at each other all day and night like I don't even exist. :( Sheesh.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be an interior designer but then in high school when I did a class and I had "fake clients" telling me what they wanted and it was all boring colors - I realized I would go crazy if I was a designer and my clients never wanted color LOL - so I am a photographer and graphic designer instead and thus, decorated my van how I love it and happy when it makes others feel happy too. :)

Thank you! It really is quite nice to have things contained in cute bags and suitcases instead of drawers or just having them floating about in the van so that if you turn a corner too fast or stop suddenly, everything isn't flying around!

I started watching because who calls themself a dork. Then...I was just charmed to pieces. Your van is so colorful and enchanting. You are a gypsy. I could never call such a wonderful person a dork. I wish you all the best.
HAHA Thank you! I learned quickly that "Dork" means all kinds of things I had no idea it meant. In my world, "Dork" means silly and goofy and weird. :) I like being uniquely me and so I kept the name but I have heard it means a few things I didn't realize it meant! :)
Your Van is fantabuliscious! I could move in tomorrow, but I would need to make tiny minimal changes. I'd need a slide out shelf I could pull out of the back, at 65 because of what my spine has experienced it's far happier not leaning forward. Then the window thingy for safety... I prefer a neon painted antique tire iron, it's a bit small but made out of cast iron, that sucker is formidable!... I'm a stay calm, in a trauma, drama situations type, but value the path of least resistance, so I've always carried a 5 inch fish knife, no sheath and the sharpest thing you can get to pull, and slit a seatbelt off, another mom taught me that when I was a new mom. It makes a great point (lol, pun intended) of disuading would be car jackers, as well. I slip it into the side of my visor. It also keeps the tire iron company, as it hangs out on the floor next to my seat and another easy reach is the hairspray I keep in a cup holder. It's better and more damaging than mace and totally legal. Never abuse my hair with it though. For me reacting out of practice, beats counting on a thinking process, when faced with the unavoidable extreme adrenaline rush, which I detest btw. I love the arert lights, they are amazing and fun. Don't forget the sign you can hold up if any one stops to help you. Do not roll down window or step out of your van ladies. Chivalry may not be dead but plenty of women are, just sayin....Now beacuse divine source made me capable of handling emergencies, I have a toolbox first aid kit and It's fun to have woodsy things, like a machete, an ax, and slingshot. I belived in giving fun gifts to my daughter growing up. She got a hand drill at 14, a taser at 15, a blow dart gun at 16, those things made her confident enough to become an ICU nurse and March through hell in a hazmat suit.... But other than that I wouldn't change a thing! I love it! You and I have a lot in common to spite the decades age of between us. I'm trapped in Hawaii right now, and planning my iminent departure, to ultimately go find my tribe of Cronies on the road. I would love to hire you as my temporary or part-time assistant to help me execute my own van build once, I get to the mainland. What tipped me right over the edge were your 2 framed art choices, with the statements, that are exactly me! I need a bigger, cause I am bigger. I have a no build- build in my brain haunting me. I have most of my stuff here that I need and want it's just someone on the mainland to aid in a few logistics. We're all unique, but you and I belong to the same subset I think and I would play that card game with you! I just subscribed. I can't believe how magical you are. Amazing. I’m so glad this video popped up in my feed, I haven’t wanted any van build videos in several months, after a mere fender bender landed my van in the body shop from 10/20/22 to 1/30/23.
I kind of lost my passion for it, probably the winter weather helped with the blahs. But now I’m feeling perked up from your video, I like your bed, and everything in little zipper pouches, I have a bunch of those from Ipsy. Hope to see you down the road someday!

I aint gone lie, this is sooo cute. I’ve seen plenty but this is super personalized. From the kitchen to seatbelt, I love this. I’m trying to convince my 4 teenagers if we can van life/RV for like a week in summer. I almost got em. Now they would need alot of space and I’m scared to drive them big ass RV’s lol. Sometimes I wanna van life ALONE for a few days.
The nice thing is, you could van life it and put them up in a tent. ;)

I am a full-time Van lifer from upstate NY now in Arizona! I have the same van, a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. It's perfect for me and my dog blue. Has way more to offer than most big vans!👍👍
Oh that is awesome! I agree. I almost got myself a sprinter but realized I like to get out of my van and explore and take pictures and go see things so my van is mostly for sleeping honestly. I don't spend much time in my van except at night when i am traveling because I am out exploring and living life during the day. :)

He was the best travel companion for a while there when it was just him and I. He just looked pretty, never argued about which music station to watch, never needed to stop to use the bathroom and doesn't snore.
Now Matt A Dore and he just don't even notice I am in the van anymore. They just stare at each other all day and night like I don't even exist. :( Sheesh.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be an interior designer but then in high school when I did a class and I had "fake clients" telling me what they wanted and it was all boring colors - I realized I would go crazy if I was a designer and my clients never wanted color LOL - so I am a photographer and graphic designer instead and thus, decorated my van how I love it and happy when it makes others feel happy too. :)

Thank you! It really is quite nice to have things contained in cute bags and suitcases instead of drawers or just having them floating about in the van so that if you turn a corner too fast or stop suddenly, everything isn't flying around!

In my world, "Dork" means silly and goofy and weird. :) I like being uniquely me and so I kept the name but I have heard it means a few things I didn't realize it meant! :)

Your Van is fantabuliscious! I could move in tomorrow, but I would need to make tiny minimal changes. I'd need a slide out shelf I could pull out of the back, at 65 because of what my spine has experienced it's far happier not leaning forward. Then the window thingy for safety... I prefer a neon painted antique tire iron, it's a bit small but made out of cast iron, that sucker is formidable!... I'm a stay calm, in a trauma, drama situations type, but value the path of least resistance, so I've always carried a 5 inch fish knife, no sheath and the sharpest thing you can get to pull, and slit a seatbelt off, another mom taught me that when I was a new mom. It makes a great point (lol, pun intended) of disuading would be car jackers, as well. I slip it into the side of my visor. It also keeps the tire iron company, as it hangs out on the floor next to my seat and another easy reach is the hairspray I keep in a cup holder. It's better and more damaging than mace and totally legal. Never abuse my hair with it though. For me reacting out of practice, beats counting on a thinking process, when faced with the unavoidable extreme adrenaline rush, which I detest btw. I love the arert lights, they are amazing and fun. Don't forget the sign you can hold up if any one stops to help you. Do not roll down window or step out of your van ladies. Chivalry may not be dead but plenty of women are, just sayin....Now beacuse divine source made me capable of handling emergencies, I have a toolbox first aid kit and It's fun to have woodsy things, like a machete, an ax, and slingshot. I belived in giving fun gifts to my daughter growing up. She got a hand drill at 14, a taser at 15, a blow dart gun at 16, those things made her confident enough to become an ICU nurse and March through hell in a hazmat suit.... But other than that I wouldn't change a thing! I love it! You and I have a lot in common to spite the decades age of between us. I'm trapped in Hawaii right now, and planning my iminent departure, to ultimately go find my tribe of Cronies on the road. I would love to hire you as my temporary or part-time assistant to help me execute my own van build once, I get to the mainland. What tipped me right over the edge were your 2 framed art choices, with the statements, that are exactly me! I need a bigger, cause I am bigger. I have a no build- build in my brain haunting me. I have most of my stuff here that I need and want it's just someone on the mainland to aid in a few logistics. We're all unique, but you and I belong to the same subset I think and I would play that card game with you! I just subscribed. I can't believe how magical you are. Amazing. Now I must binge watch your channel. Much light, peace and aloha!
