As the Head of the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Turbat, I would like to clarify that we invited Barrick Gold to participate in our Job Fair 2024, but they did not attend. Therefore, the statement made at 11:17 in the video, claiming that Barrick Gold has visited every university in Pakistan to recruit talent, is inaccurate.

Following on from my previous comment, it can be seen that the PakGovt can finance its share of the mining investment at VERY low cost, and quite possibly for FREE, depending on the gold price appreciation in USD. This is exactly how Barrick will finance its share of the investment, since the logic is as applicable to them as it is to PakGovt. Next, instead of selling its share of the gold, PakGovt should store it as part of its national reserves.
If Pakistan is successful in joining BRICS, then these gold reserves will become EXTREMELY necessary for inter-BRICS trade. This is why India and other BRICS members, are repatriating their gold which is held overseas (Bank of England, Federal Reserve etc).

74 billion dollars over next 37 years means roughly 2 billions a year. Give fifty percent to company, 1 billion is what Pakistan will have. Forget about fifty percent going to federal, this amount of 500 millions is surely not enough for Baluchistan. I wonder what the federal government will do with other half?

What a sheer waste of such a precious mining resourceqqq. A company getting 50% back and is neither interested to build copper and gold refineries and making other value added products. CEO is saying they are looking to take ore to either China or saudia for further treatment and value addition. This is the same thing many sub saharan countries have done and we know how devastating the result were for them. Buss ammar ko har baat main that make sense bolna aata hai.

i think pakistan might end up getting close to 60 percent of revenue especially if they tax profits above a certain price range. but barrick might delay that as long as possible because they might claim they want to recover their investment cost of biulding the mine before they start paying profut taxes, to be honest pakistan should earn way more that 74 billion thats possiblt the lowest range figure.

Why does Barrick get such a large 50% share for peanuts? A fair contract should be 20% Barrick Canada and 80% for Balochistan Pakistan. Transport of mineral ore by rail will not provide employment to the people of Balochistan and Pakistan. The ore should be processed in Balochistan Pakistan to create employment for local population. This is NOT a fair contract for the people of Balochistan and Pakistan. It is a ripoff via contract manipulation resulting in excessive ownership by the international mining companies.

Just mining your natural resources and exporting the ore alone won't give you maximum returns. The countries that import the ore will make more money than the exporter. Create jobs with copper refineries and industries that use copper for export. Else this is a waste of effort. Just some peanuts which will be depleted within the year. Act soon or miss the bus again and again and again. Time to prove that you can do it
