I agree totally with the grandmother's skills it will certainly be beautiful. As one person commented on the depth of the cave. Probably she's going deeper into the cave with good reason. Grandma has a wealth of knowledge and just wants to ensure that when the harsh winter comes, the girls and herself will have the depth of the cave to keep them warm. That's just my thought.
Nan..also raise the entrance with cement blocks and cement so water does not come un and cement the outside and do it at an angle from the door to the hill that goes below so it drains off well.hoping now the top of the cave outside is reinforced and an over hang with beams or put so you can be save inside when it rains and snows .collect lots of fire wood to be ready for cold weather.you will be warm and cozy. To the Camera Man how far is Nan digging this cave? Aren’t you all afraid of it collapsing with harsh weather conditions? Safety comes first and their lives is very important I hate to see anything happen to them. For now I would stop digging complete what’s dugout finish the ceiling and walls. Hi Nan things are going great and the sand was removed from the top and the blocks were put higher in case of any sand running off. The cave is coming out good but again it needs muscle power so that the horse support rod can be put in place. Can’t wait and see when the plaster it and the windows and door are added to the house. Lots of work left before winter comes. Grandma and the girls are amazing. Praying the mon never comes back!!
alright putting the blocks higher but what happens to the water in heavy rain it will pool behind the blocks with nowhere to go and weaken the front roof

The can go the other way as well just away from the entrance of the cave. Something like the roof shutters that catch the rain and directs it away from the cave.

You've made so much progress on the cave. It feels like a huge increase in space. With winter fast approaching I do have serious concerns about the area immediately above the cave and house. There are 2 large rocks precariously perched above both and there is a lot of unstable land. I love that Nan made a start on a previous episode but in all honesty it needs a digger. I would suggest terracing and maybe plant it with grape vine or fruit trees . It would produce an income and potentially qualify you for a loan from the Land Resources Dept. this could potentially provide an sustainable extrq income and at the same time make the place safe. Because nothing would be worse then the hill sliding down and covering the cave entrance while Nan and the girls are inside!😢❤.

You've made so much progress on the cave. It feels like a huge increase in space. With winter fast approaching I do have serious concerns about the area immediately above the cave and house. There are 2 large rocks precariously perched above both and there is a lot of unstable land. I love that Nan made a start on a previous episode but in all honesty it needs a digger. I would suggest terracing and maybe plant it with grape vine or fruit trees . It would produce an income and potentially qualify you for a loan from the Land Resources Dept. this could potentially provide an sustainable extrq income and at the same time make the place safe.
Because nothing would be worse then the hill sliding down and covering the cave entrance while Nan and the girls are inside!😢❤.
