Lightin' Hopkins turned his stool around, he was pissed at the crowd, and came over with his back turned away from the Audience and played for me about 1 hour. I was 15 and talked my way in the club and was in the back so the cops wouldn't see me, just in case. Lightin' thanked me for being a good audience & I saw more over the years and he always recognized me and come over and thank me for being a good audience every time🙂!
Nice job, Michael! The AP Prestige reissue series is one of my favorites. I cannot tell you how excited I was when Chad announced he was pressing them again. A highlight in my collection, next to my Tone Poets and Music Matters Jazz titles. And more jazz videos please 🎉 - Mike
We all have our favorites. For me, Tommy Flanagan - Overseas (with Elvin Jones on drums) deserves special distinction. One of the all time great piano trio albums and classic cover art!
I’m old enough and lucky enough to have seen Memphis Slim & Willie Dixon at Newport Folk Festival 1965. It was my 16th birthday weekend. Have to pick up some of these brilliant recordings. Thanks for sharing
Been a fan of Jazz for some time and to see rereleases is a welcome sight. Perfect ending as our Pets do bring such wonderful moments and shine to our world. Thank you Michael as always !!
Interesting titles, I'll have to listen to them. I'm afraid this will probably trigger another order. My tip for you: Billy Cobham Spectrum. Rhino reissued it for the 75th anniversary of Atlantic Records. Clear vinyl, lacquer cut by Kevin Gray. Sounds killer. Yes-Fragile was also released in the same series, also cut by Kevin Gray. I think they are only available in independent record stores, but I'm not sure.
Hey Michael, a fantastic selection of prestige titles so many to choose from you done well picking 10. I need to pick up some of these records. Such a high quality product. When you consider the Stoughton jacket. I should go for Saxophone Colossus, also the Dolphy live album jumps out too. Thanks for sharing Michael. I’m a jazz newbie,so need guidance 😂 See you next video
I have been able to get a bunch of these as they have been repressing them recently. I have not been disappointed by any of them. A couple of my favorites you didn't mention are Rollins plays for Bird and Ballads by Cobb. This is a great series.
I'm a little late to the game, but picked up Quiet Kenny recently. The quality of pressing and packaging blew my mind. Saxophone Colossus is next on the list to add to my collection.
Another very, very interesting video by Michael about jazz vinyls. However, I have them in original cds, some in beautiful digipack editions. A rectification, my dear Michael. I absolutely agree with Mr. Domonkos Siegfried. We need 12,50" or 12,75" (I don't know) Dual Pocket Outers with Tuckable Flaps and Gatefold. Those 12" are small and those 13" are very large (Tone Poet, Acustic Sounds, Analogue Production). I wanted my money with Mint Sleeves in my last order. Best Regards, Michael.
I bought most of the mono series in 2015, it's kinda crazy looking back these didn't sell out immediately like today. I checked my Acoustic Sounds account, many of these were bought on sales they would run on holiday weekends, they were $27 !!
I bought all of these when AP first released them. I think they cost around 35 USD. I also bought up as many of the Classic Records and Music Matters 33rpm releases when they were first released. Seeing what they go for now, I’m so happy I bought them especially for such great prices!
Michael, my friend, your followers should sign a "manifesto" to request Mr. Jeff Bezos that Amazon sells all those Analogue Production records at affordable prices for all lovers of good jazz, and not only in gourmet sales webs. 😎
I‘m waiting patiently for Kenny. Next could be Saxophone Colossus. Dolphy is a bit too hard for my listening experience. As Universal Music announced rising their prices up to 20%, those fantastic releases by AP or Sam Records appear to be very reasonable and you can rely on the quality of the pressing and excellent customer service👍
Im in. US Many times you’re favoring NLPA quality and it’s very difficult to get here and I am in the states and you’re in Europe and many of us have had that same issue so next time you do some reviews on you got a ham see what’s available in the US or Canada wherever and let it be known and then we could buy the LP otherwise we’re lost, thank you just another hobbyist
Problem with not living in the US is the shipping costs for AP. They run a very basic operation in terms of sales. I was close to buying Coltrane with the Red Garland Trio, which is $40 on the AP site, but around $100 when FedEx charges are added. A parcel of that value shouldn't even attract a tariff when imported from the US to the UK. And because it's difficult, or expensive, to get from a UK seller, there are hardly any reviews. I, and many others, would be snapping up a lot more AP releases if they sorted their shipping/distribution out.
I’ve got all those and love them but I ended up dropping my copy of Soultrane the first time I played it and now it has a scratch. God I hate it when that happens. No alcohol involved.
Michael, I really adore your channel but I regret to say that the prices on your store are extremely high. Hoping to see more moderate prices in the future. By the way not talking about UHQR but standard 180 gram records. I think no record justifies 90 Euros.
I’m sorry to say, but you’re losing credibility with this video. All great titles, but the list consist of all the titles you currently have in stock in your store with a couple of more thrown in. I think you should have a separate channel for your advertisement videos.

Great video, Michael! I agree, there are so many amazing records in this series. It'll be great if Analogue Production will continue this.
Great Video again Michael! 🙌👏🤗🥰❤️💜❤️

The first record I bought from Prestige Series was "Gene Ammons - Boss Tenor". Paid 43.95€ in 2017
Nice overview.

What a great series indeed! Willie’s Blues is incredible!
