1) A problem with the Truma is that it is a 120V system, not 12V. It has to be up-powered from your 12V inverter making it inefficient to run and probably needing more batteries and solar (if you have the room). 2) Might want to followup with a mechanic and see if you can upgrade your alternator (if your wires can handle the extra current). 3) As nice as it is to have windows all around, that is unfortunately a tradeoff for better insulation to keep out the heat/cold. 4) THAT SPA WAS AMAZING! SO JEALOUS! Cheers!
I do not RV yet but have watched a lot. I never thought about running the car engine is really the same as having a generator if you have a large & powwrful battery bank.
yes the standard engine alternator does a pretty good job of recharging the batteries but you have to be aware of how much energy you have consumed to understand how long you need to run your engine to recharge fully.
good to know that on super hot days, you can drive with the Truma AC on and maintain your battery levels. Wondering if you would have had 300 amp hours and a mostly full charge, if your truma AC would be able to work while driving.
Bernadine I’m so glad. It’s a big reason why I do these videos. want folks like yourself to see what everyday van use is like and also to feel confident that you can do it too.
Good to see some real life usage of the lithium batteries & AC in hot weather. I'm going to be upgrading my '18 Travato to the new inverter generator, and I think I will have a generator in my next van as well. Especially because when you travel with pets in hot weather, you really need the AC running in back to keep them comfortable. Generator makes that super easy, and your house batteries charge while you drive.
Did you start the cooling process in the van with both the coach AC and the van AC? The AC in a Promaster is excellent and really cools things down fast. I don't know if you talked about it or not but whenever the temperature in the van gets near the temp you want to keep you need to start the AC's. Once the van heats up and all the items in the van get hot it is very difficult to cool. I've been told that AC can only keep a van 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the outdoor temps. Have you any vans to help circulated the cooling? Does your van come built with a space to add two more batteries?
great ideas! i’ve found that when the rear ac vents are adjusted properly in conjunction with the cab ac that the van stays nice and cool everywhere including the bathroom. one could perhaps utilize the space under the bench seat for additional batteries.
I will spend Christmas in Palm Springs, will it be that hot? I like your microphone and camera can you post the name equipment? Love your videos, (I love Spa too will go to that one.) Hope to see you and Paul on the road
Oh boy! Thanks so much sharing your 'hot' experience using Pano. I live in this humid VA weather and haven't venture out yet with our van mainly out of fear of dealing with hot weather and mosquitoes. LOL! We also have the new Truma air conditioner and knew it would only provide about 4 hrs out of the battery. Good to know the depletion of battery power and the alarm. Again, feel bad that you had to go through the hot weather testing it and thanks again for the valuable information. Hope you are cool down in your beautiful northern CA by now. ^ ^
I’m so happy to share in my experiences so that others may learn and have a better one! 600ah is a good capacity. My main problem is with the battery monitor which is not accurate enough. It is easy to deplete my 400ah of battery power. It’s better to just keep track of how long you have run your AC keeping in mind that it draws roughly 1kwh so if you had it running for 6 hours in your case you would fully deplete your battery and need around 7 hours or so of driving to get it back to full power.
We have an 05 Airstream Interstate and will be looking for a newer unit soon. We like the lay out of your RV. FYI, the NM cable isn't recommended to be used with a plug. SO or SJO type cable is what would be used with a plug.
they do bit the battery is so large that it would take 4 days in the sun to recharge the batteries completely so they are recharged mainly by the engine and driving around.

I love 103 in the desert! Perfection. To each their own 😹
lol yes indeed lora!
Shiny rig. Tea sounds delicious. 103 sounds brutal.
hard to really enjoy anything in that kind of sustained heat.

Really enjoyed the spa. Thanks for taking us along. Learning so much about Rv operations.

yes a generator is not a bad idea if you plan on running the ac for hours a day off battery. it would help to cut the recharge time down.
This reminds me a little bit of Mister Rogers neighborhood... Maybe mr. Neil's camper Hood.... Thanks for the info, it helps...😊
OMG, I thought the same thing. Very relaxing vibe.
thank you. being compared to fred roger’s is very kind indeed.
thank you so much.

it should be beautiful during Christmas for you. here’s a link to the microphone that i use: amzn.to/3rcgqvz
Thank you so much for your video. I was wondering how you made maple coffee, that sounds delicious.
It's so good! thank you for watching!

That’s why I want one with a generator. I know what that sound was because when my batteries are low my invertir says recharge.
@@sybilburke1404 I prefer a generator as well!

Hi. Is RV parking allowed in residential area of Palm Springs? Did you find it difficult to find overnight parking?
luckily i parked in front of my friends’ home in a gated community. i can’t speak yet if it is feasible to park in residential areas.
BEST
thank you.
That spa is incredible! Thanks for the tour. Doesn't your solar panels charge up your batteries while you drive around?
they do bit the battery is so large that it would take 4 days in the sun to recharge the batteries completely so they are recharged mainly by the engine and driving around.
It looks like a ghost town.
yes. to be fair i was there in the middle of the week and it was hot.
