Facts! Close grip pronated grip pull-ups from different angles made me start doing high pull-ups. I was doing under hand for years, even with added weight and couldn't do high pulls....Once I started focusing on close grip pronated, my pull strength increased dramatically!
People will go wider because it's easier close hand is harder ,makes complete sense. Go the harder way from the beginning and the wider will become easier 💪🏼
Do you find they still work your biceps with hands close together? When I tried it, I felt all the work go into my triceps. Makes me wonder if I did something wrong.

@@ivandimitrov3812 Interesting, so you do both chin ups and pull ups but both narrow grip. Personally I now do semi-narrow grip chin ups with wide neutral-grip pull ups to also hit my outer lats. I just noticed that I read that wrong and I was talking about supinated narrow-grip _chin ups_ which puts all the work into your triceps. Since I wrote this, I figured out (from research and now experience) that a narrow-ish grip chin up, with hands just inside shoulder width, is the best grip to build the bicep long head (bicep brachii). Still an intense triceps workout but it's the only grip that makes your biceps grow taller rather than wider. I really recommend it: it's also a great pecs workout. I do it alongside wide neutral-grip chin ups to cover the rest like the Brachialis. You've probably noticed that pretty much _everything_ in bicep workouts build the brachialis; I only recently (last couple months) finally figured out the one chin-up exercise (semi-close grip) that builds the bicep brachii (taller biceps).
I'd like what HFK told at the end of the video about additional weights, and I am absolutely right with that. You don't need additional weights to get ripped, the only thing that matters - is how regular are your workouts and the bodyweight calisthenics is what I love most of all, it's keeping you from various injuries and helps you to do clear and straight dips, pullups with a bigger range of motion
Thanks as always thats good money and Hannibal My personal takeaways: Close grips are best Use both front and back hand grips equally Wait until the swinging has stopped Slow and controlled movements build muscle endurance. Chalk causes bleeding, no chalk. Avoid thin bars that you can wrap your hands around completely as you’re more likely to bleed, favour thicker bars. To progress, avoid adding weights like kettlebells.

Salute to Hannibal all the time. My observation to this video… Anyway you pull up, do down slowly; that’s called Negative pull-ups. Definitely will increase pull-ups. Next two routines were Partial Reps; bottom and top versions. CrossFit swings they do is wider grip (may be bad for the shoulders). As for FAT Bars, I’m on the Swings with it. Baby swings are lower. Regular swings, got to climb up to it (pull-ups to do pull-ups)… I recently got hand injury so have to go into partial body using rings or gripping chains on ends of two swings; going into a row like pull-up motion (straight body down then up into an L body). Mind you, get on the floor all the while, but because of injury, legs are bent for less resistance up and down. Hand injury is middle finger tendon reconstructive surgery. 4th Strength (week) in and fist coming back to normal (regaining of strength and full Fist recovery like Wolverine). Therapist even mentions how I’ll be recovering sooner than later. Hannibal, we about the same age. I soon turn 44 this 2022. Here’s an Ultimate Leg Workout I cop’d from Matt Furey, and that is Hindu Squats (100’s; literally no counting; just flowing with it as time goes by non step (brief pauses here and there). Even with gradually working one way to endurance of it will show M, and the feeling (let’s just say when I went all out, it took Days to recover).
Nobody else will tell you these things. I focus on how I do my pull ups and the most effective ways I can do them and I have picked up on most of these things and seen more progress After doing them correctly. I appreciate these videos.

12:34 in my courtyard of the block I have a thick bar just like that, we use it to hang the carpets and beat them before we wash them. It's interesting that I've been using that bar to do pull-ups even though it's annoying because it's so thick but my calluses never hurt as much as they would when I was using a slim bar.
