    I would love to see them move forward from Wrath with a Classic + alternate timeline style story where the cataclysm doesn't happen. Pie in the sky dream, but its there for the taking.

      I'd love to see the player numbers in the background as it seems like most people are either classic or retail players. So if the playerbases were about the same you could probably make a business arguement for continuing the classic style into an alternate timeline. Definately pie in the sky level of dreaming, but it's a cool thought experiment
      Thank you for watching!

      Imagine if cataclysm was overhauled, to actually repair what was lost. The franchise needs it

    At this point, the only thing that makes sense after Dragonflight is to develop a full blown sequel OR prequel, utilizing modern GPUs. In doing so, learn from the fan base and give the people what they want. Classic mechanics, new content, new lore, new visuals. It would take massive work, but would be wildly successful. These cheap expacs are a get richer quick approach, attempting to cash in on previous successes. It's time to re earn your place at the top, if you want it.

      Not even 100% sure it would be wildly successful in the modern environment. With so many other MMOs that specialise and have established audiences, on top of other mmos in development like Ashes of Creation having their own hype. I reckon they'd have done the cost-benefit anaylsis of a WoW 2 and found it not worth it.
      I reckon for Dragonflight though, they're kind of doing a lot of the things you've listed which does lead me to believe they might be doing a 'soft wow 2' where they'll upgrade over time. The talent trees are a good mix of retail/classic, the story from now will all be the new writers (for better or worse) and they are updating the UI, so a graphical/backend upgrade should be in the works.

    classic + would literally be the biggest thing they could possibly do, and especially after wrath, they could super hype up a brand new classic wow expansion. They just did this with season 2 of diablo 2 which has a lot more players than any other diablo game. They also just bought the studio that re did diablo and is putting out new content for diablo2. The new content has been really well received. They also just sold ACTi-vision to Microsoft for 64 billion. It seems to me they are going to be developing 2 wow studios, one for competitive retail content, and one for rpg wow classic content which will most likely over take retail. They could very easily end up back on top of the mmo genre and double their profits releasing 2 expansions at 60 a pop instead of 1.

    What after WotLK Classic?
    I'd love to start playing on a fresh vanilla server with phases restarted and maybe some more time between their implementation.
    I don't like Season of Mastery servers as they are no longer "blizzlike"(I know, it sounds funny). Make it happen again please 😁.
    I greet all of you guys fighting for Vanilla server for so many years🖖.

    It's kinda sad that they're not really attempting Classic+ because I feel like they've developed enough systems over the years that they should be able to utilize those systems to make something neat for Classic players that adds to the longevity of the game, and I don't see why they can't spare a couple of devs to brainstorm and work on such things while the rest of the team focuses on xpac stuff and whatnot

    • @valgardgaming

      It really is a massive shame and I don't even think people would mind if they re-used assets just to make things a lot smoother if it meant new content. Like maybe use the Death Knight zone as a Scarlet Crusade raid in a classic plus or just pull the Emerald Dream from legion into it considering we're on that client

      @@valgardgaming Take the Torghast systems, and the system behind artifact weapons, and use them to create a new roguelike dungeon somewhere: under Karazhan, somewhere in Outland, whatever. Give it 100 floors. Starts off fairly easy and ramps up in difficulty as you go deeper. Dungeon has its own weapon that powers you up inside the dungeon and gets upgraded as you play so subsequent dungeon attempts get easier as you gain more power for it. Best of all, it could exist in the retail game, could be used there to make artifact weapons cool and useful again, but only in that content.
      That's just one idea I came up with after a day of thinking about it, I'm sure Blizzard devs could come up with tons more.

    Is it possible for them to take the failed expansions, and repair them, as part of the classic program?

    • @valgardgaming
      @valgardgaming  2 роки тому

      Now that I think about it that's another option as alot of the cut content had some development already put into it. All Blizz would need to do is finish up the dev and change up the release schedule to what they wanted before. Warlords of Draenor would be the prime example of that I reckon, although your other reply about cata makes a good point too.
      Thanks for watching, and the comments as always

      @@valgardgaming it would be a lot of work, but they could try to use classic to fix some of the choices that led to the game's decline right at their root. This would put classic in a wierd place where it is no longer a faithful representation, but it might be what the game needs to start healing some of the many wounds it's still suffering and never had a chance to address.

    I think a lot of people returning to Wrath, will be focused on Ulduar hard modes and ICC 25, with those two objectives done, Wo classic will be over for most of us.

    • @valgardgaming
      @valgardgaming  2 роки тому +1

      It'll have been a fun trip back through the expansions but I'm pretty sure you're spot on the money. Considering Uld and ICC still make top 10 wow raids lists there'll be no doubt a lot of people wanting to finally just try them while its current if nothing else
      Thank you for watching, and the support as always Wolly

    The only solution in my opinion would be make a fork classic version of the retail expansions, it means keep exactly the same WOLTK mechanics but with the new content of retail and the new graphics. it would be the only way that i would be willing to pay, because otherwise, just prefer keep playing WOLTK in private servers. Even with the launch of vanilla i refused to pay and i kept playing classic in private servers. if Blizzard doesn't offer me new expansions with the classic gameplay mechanics, is useless for me.

  • @cmoney163

    Honestly the most I can see happening is resetting to “Vanilla” with polls, on what should and shouldn’t change, all the way back to WoTLK; rinse and repeat and I’d say they have a little goldmine there. Honestly Blizzard has Classic way in the back of their minds, from a business perspective it makes sense to milk what they can from Classic while using as minimal resources for it. Not trying to be a pessimist, but in reality, with the way Acti/Blizz is, this is the route most likely to happen. But hey I could be wrong lol.

    CATA WAS FUN, in my humble honest opionion:
    Vanilla = Fun because it was new and revolutionary, endgame not so fun.
    TBC = Exciting, first expansion, alot of new features
    WOTLK = Best of both worlds ^ and it was the first time the game felt complete
    CATA = Had some great PvP seasons and decently put together raids aswell, also this was the most fun twink expansion (imo)
    Pandaria = Was the downfall for me.
