    I did not include the product link for the bipod on Amazon because the seller selling the item has a poor reputation. Look for them at your local gun shop instead.

    Sorry about the temperature changes in this video folks. Doing my best to work in limited space with window light. And sometimes, that's a real challenge.

    Great review, i'm currently in the dilemma of getting this Bipod or FAB Defense Spike. One thing about the wiggle, iirc MAGPUL suggests to "load" it to make it stable and will then allow to maintain your shooting position after recoil, so basically what you experienced and how you used it. So it's not a manufacturing overlook but intended to perform that way, which to me makes a lot of sense.
    Cheers from Northern Quebec, keep up the good work!

      Hi! Thanks for the insight! This is great, and I did get used to it after a while which I'm glad for, because this was definitely not a budget bipod ;) I DID hear that Magpul mentioned this specifically somewhere, and glad it's not a manufacturing defect. In fact, before I even knew about this, I had already been "preloading" my bipod during shooting, and under a lot of pressure from my arms and the blast from the 308 its connected to, it performed admirably.
      Much love from southern Ontario, and thanks so much for your thoughts and for watching the channel! :)

    Perfect timing. I’ve just bought a Tikka T3x Tac A1 and am looking for a bipod. The Magpul is on my shortlist, so thanks for the review. I like the idea that the rubber knob can be used as a rest on obstacles if you are on the move and want to stay low.

      Congrats on the TAC! That's awesome :) And yeah, of course. I enjoyed this as well. It takes a little time getting used to the wobbly-ness of it, but Magpul says that's by design. Nevertheless, a great piece of kit, let me know if you decide to go for it, and if not, what you got instead :)

      @@canadianoperator OK - Decided in the end to go for the MDT GRND Pod. There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is the Magpul wobble. I totally understand and appreciate Magpul's design decision on this, but normally when shooting I am pulling the rifle into my shoulder with my support hand. I am not sure I have the skill to reproducibly balance that pull into my shoulder with the required push to load the bipod. I am sure I could get used to it, but then there is the second reason. ..... It's a really nice rifle. I am not sure I could bear to load it with so much visible plastic... :(

    Can this also be mounted on top of the rifle? Or can it only be fitted underneath?

    • @canadianoperator
      @canadianoperator  3 місяці тому

      Not sure why you'd want to put it on top of the rifle, but if you get the pic rail version, you can.

      @inspector-tech 3 місяці тому

      @@canadianoperator I would prefer to have it mounted on top as I have a pic rail that extends quite far over the barrel. Just my personal preference 😁 Great recite brw 👍🏾

    Quick question, where did you “operate” ?

    • @canadianoperator
      @canadianoperator  3 місяці тому +1

      Mostly at ranges :) Many people tend to associate that with having been in the service. While that nomenclature is used in that way, the name Canadian Operator refers to a collective of Canadians who operate firearms, and refers to the community and culture that we have here in Canada when it comes to firearms.
