Maclaine Diemer has become one of my favourite music composers of all times :) Since Heart of Thornes he's been delivering such amazing tracks and special mention to Lena Chapelle who is not in the company anymore, but she was a huge part of it too. Amazing talents!
If you look him up on some streaming services - and I think there was also some social media stuff, there are also non-GW2 pieces that are great. In fact you can do that with many of the composers that contributed - so far absolutely worth it.
I played ans livestreamed this for 15 hours. The music just gets better and better with every release. I miss Soule but damn Diemer and the others just do movie quality soundtracks that give you shivers on your entire body. I want a GW movie already!
Really enjoying the music that is released with every expansion and "DLC" (Living World) in Guild Wars 2; Maclaine Diemer never disappoints composing really grand, yet emotional, pieces, and when you hear these in-game in various situations, they fit so well with gameplay. edit: and it just struck me that the opening theme has a very Tasca's Demise / EotN feeling to it. Lovely stuff!
I hate how quiet this music is in-game! When I started Soto I genuinely thought there was no new music (and here's someone who has music 100% and everything else 75-35%).
Same! I have music 100% and everything else around 60-70%. I listened to the strikes' themes on spotify first, and when i went to play the strikes, i was surprised that the music wasn't there. At some point I started hearing some weird, out of place sounds and I realised they're the parts of the theme of the highest frequency. I was baffled why these great tracks are so quiet.
I'd say, in order of preference: HoT, PoF, SoTO, EoD, Icebrood. But I love all of them, and my overall favs are scattered throughout all expansion osts.
This is a random question. Does anyone know what song is played during the adventures in the game. Most noticeably during the jumping puzzle in Gyala Delve and the Skyscale target practice in the Wizard's Tower. Thanks to anyone who might know!
That means that the new game update is out... fk im trapped on the last map before this one.... I never liked the JADE cave map......i will have to finish that before go to the new map i guess.... sadly...
you *don't have to* if you don't want to, story is a continuation but self contained enough (at least as far as I can tell, have played around 40% I guess), only once came gyala delve story up in a side comment by the commander
I find the soundtrack disappoining. Bland battle themes, not a single theme I retained. Maclaine can do so much better than this,by miles. EoD and PoF don't come even remotely close.
I think so too, though I like the general appeal, I think it is not on par with previous Soundtracks. Still, it is a good music, but not really memorable as a whole.

The main theme is very touching. I really like it.
"Malaise" is such a weird track for a fantasy MMO, it sounds more like something out of a superhero movie. I love it though.

Main theme starts kinda slow but its clear Maclaine popped off.

@@michram Yeah Daimer is an above average composer I strongly believe he is yet to deliver his best
