I'm one of those freaks that thinks Sonic 2 is fine but undeserved as the best 2D Sonic game. That goes to the fully combined Sonic 3 & Knuckles. THAT is the best 2D Sonic game in my opinion.
Not freaky at all, S3K was something truly special.
Lol, damn! I beat it when I was in the 4th grade! I am 40 in 10 days 😂😅
Damn lol. I just turned 30 in April, gaming has come a long way since we were kids
LMFAO Death Egg was hilarious. I chuckled when he went behind him when Eggman dropped knowing the bombs were coming and he wouldn't expect it.
It's COOL To See You Using Knuckles in SONIC 2, I Did Beat That Game, But Took Many Many Tries LOL. Right Now My Favorite 2 Character in Sonic Are Knuckles and Rouge!!
chat must've been going insane. I never beat Sonic 2 either though. This must be so much less stress-inducing not having to worry about lives
Very surreal seeing Max playing a Sonic game
Dang, took me to nostalgia city on this one. The music in this game is phenomenal! 🤩
Such a great game
Death Egg Robot boss fight is soo tight for a climax to a 2D AAA game
"Hydrocity? Did I pronounce that right?" - Yes... Though apparently both "Hydrocity" and "Hydro City" are accepted pronunciations by Sega and people argue about which is right. I pronounce it "Hydrocity", like you did in this video's opening, because there's no space in the name, but I won't tell someone who pronounces it the other way that they're wrong, because officially neither is wrong.
Jesus, this takes me so far back. All the goddang memories from that sound track.
That unopened Sonic Jam is going to be worth millions of dollars down the line. Glad he's not opening it.
To this day, Sonic Jam is still one of best Sonic collections.
It’s probably been 20 years since I’ve played sonic 2. Never was able to beat it either. Max, thanks for the nostalgia here. Btw sonic 2 music absolutely slaps 👍🏼
"I remember most of my playthroughs ending at Oil Ocean" Same Max, same... I got to it in Mania and stopped for like two weeks from childhood memories ahahahaha.
How great to be sponsored to play such a classic game!
Watching Death Egg again, I feel like I'm watching someone learn how to fight Sonic's version of Sans. You literally have to figure out how to not get hit once during the entire sequence of fighting and since its Knuckles your options of hitting the Eggbot are a LOT more limited.
Love Sonic 2 one of my favourite Sega Genesis game 🕹👍and good play through Max
