The album tells the story of a kid who was always overlooked by his parents in favor of his brother, so he learns the guitar and runs away from home to become a rock star to try to win his dad's approval. Over the course of the album he finds fame, but also runs into the drugs and partying that come with it, and he ultimately not only fails to win his family's approval, but is dismissed by them completely, resulting in the character committing suicide. This specific song is about the character getting signed to a major record label("Chainsaw Charlie" is the head of the record label), and having to deal with the sleazy record execs who want to make money off his image and change his musical style to where it's more commercial and aimed at being just another generic hit("where the music comes to die" refers to artists signing to major labels and losing their own unique sound and identity to be what the label wants them to be) and was inspired by the songwriter's real life experiences in the industry.
as a few have said, the lyrics are about the music industry. Reading the lyrics helps a lot O.K. boy now here's your deal Will you gamble your life? Sign right here on the dotted line It's the one you've waited for all of your life Ah, will it feed my hunger If I swallow lies right down my throat? Or will it choke me till I'm raw? And tomorrow when I'm gone Will they whore my image on? I'll will my throne away, to a virgin heir and Charlie's slave Murders, murders in the new morgue Murders, murders in the new morgue See old Charlie and the platinum armys Making me their boy Murders, murders in the new morgue Murders, murders in the new morgue He'll make ya scream for the cash machine Down in Chainsaw Charlie's morgue We'll sell your flesh by the pound you'll go A whore of wrath just like me We'll sell ya wholesale, we'll sell your soul Strap on your sixstring and feed our machine Ah, will it feed my hunger If I swallow lies right down my throat? Or will it choke me till I'm raw? And tomorrow when I'm gone Will they whore my image on? I'll will my throne away, to a virgin heir and Charlie's slave Welcome to the morgue boy Where the music comes to die Welcome to the morgue son I'll cut your throat just to stay alive Ah, trust me boy I won't steer you wrong If you trust me son You won't last very long I'm the president of showbiz, my name is Charlie I'm a cocksucking asshole, that's what they call me Here from my Hollywood tower I rule I'm lying motherfucker, the chainsaw's my tool The new morgue's our factory, to grease our lies Our machine is hungry, it needs your life Don't mind the faggots, and the ruthless scum Before we're done, son we'll make you one I'm the tin man, I've never had a heart I'm the tin man, But I'll make you a star I'm the tin man, I've never had a heart I'm the tin man, but i'll make me the star
We Are Sexual Predators, was an extremely controversial band back in the day. Name say's it all. LOL Wendy O and the Plasmatics, was the other group that was popular with the underground scene, but because of their antics / Lyrics, never went mainstream. Both bands was super talented, with amazing musicians.
That's not what their name means, it was just one of the things people speculated on(another was "We Are Satan's People"). Someone once asked Blackie Lawless what their name actually stood for, and he replied "We Ain't Sure, Pal"
W.A.S.P. are the most underrated band and Blackie Lawless is the most underrated metal singer. As far as I am concerned he is the best metal singer ever. Nobody can sing like him.
Haven't heard these guys in a long time. I remember something about a dispute they were having with some parent group. The parents wanted warning labels on this sort of music. 🤣🤣 Leo Moracchioli just released a cover of Welcome To The Jungle
The whole Crimson Idol album is a real masterpiece. Loved it.
I totally agree with you!
Great album. Has some riff inspiration from uriah heep. I listened to this album almost everyday.
This song is from a conceptual Album (The Crimsom Idol) early '90.

One of the best conceptalbums ever done :)

O.K. boy now here's your deal
Will you gamble your life?
Sign right here on the dotted line
It's the one you've waited for all of your life
Ah, will it feed my hunger
If I swallow lies right down my throat?
Or will it choke me till I'm raw?
And tomorrow when I'm gone
Will they whore my image on?
I'll will my throne away, to a virgin heir and Charlie's slave
Murders, murders in the new morgue
Murders, murders in the new morgue
See old Charlie and the platinum armys
Making me their boy
Murders, murders in the new morgue
Murders, murders in the new morgue
He'll make ya scream for the cash machine
Down in Chainsaw Charlie's morgue
We'll sell your flesh by the pound you'll go
A whore of wrath just like me
We'll sell ya wholesale, we'll sell your soul
Strap on your sixstring and feed our machine
Ah, will it feed my hunger
If I swallow lies right down my throat?
Or will it choke me till I'm raw?
And tomorrow when I'm gone
Will they whore my image on?
I'll will my throne away, to a virgin heir and Charlie's slave
Welcome to the morgue boy
Where the music comes to die
Welcome to the morgue son
I'll cut your throat just to stay alive
Ah, trust me boy
I won't steer you wrong
If you trust me son
You won't last very long
I'm the president of showbiz, my name is Charlie
I'm a cocksucking asshole, that's what they call me
Here from my Hollywood tower I rule
I'm lying motherfucker, the chainsaw's my tool
The new morgue's our factory, to grease our lies
Our machine is hungry, it needs your life
Don't mind the faggots, and the ruthless scum
Before we're done, son we'll make you one
I'm the tin man, I've never had a heart
I'm the tin man, But I'll make you a star
I'm the tin man, I've never had a heart
I'm the tin man, but i'll make me the star

First band and tour I went to see on my own aged 16. Good times
This song is about the music industry. The whole Crimson Idol is worth a listen! One of my favorite W .A . S . P. records..

You should check out the torture never ends and unholy terror and charisma back to back, wasp is truly amazing
Mate, I definitely recommend you to listen whole album because it is a concept record and totally masterpiece.
There's a story told through the songs of the album. You'd have to listen to it from start to finish for these lyrics to make sense.
W.A.S.P. are the most underrated band and Blackie Lawless is the most underrated metal singer. As far as I am concerned he is the best metal singer ever. Nobody can sing like him.
It's all about the music BUSINESS!
