SIR I work at B&H Photo as a Photography Specialist and I bought my first drone recently. I wanna say I am beyond grateful for your wisdom. This is what my clients must feel when I solve their problems. I am elated to do more work with my Mini 4 Pro very soon.

I watched your video (great presentation) and then I browsed a few comments. I have a lot of experience and like a comment below I have flown / had drones since 2014 and a 107 since 2017. I find your videos well made, easy to understand and certainly helpful. I say this a lot.......just when I think I know all there is to know about a drone, DJI improves it (either a new model or a software update). Lastly, I would recommend your channel to beginners and experienced drone operators alike. BTW, your dog really like that tree!

Thanks a lot for posting this excellent video. The title caught my attention because I haven't seen alerts to perform the calibration with my Mini 4 Pro. I used to have the original Mavic Mini and frequently saw prompts to calibrate the compass and/or IMU. I have saved your video so that I can follow the steps you clearly explained should I need to calibrate the drone or RC2. Cheers!

You need to calibrate the controller one time. On a Mini-2 I had I was getting Calibrate IMU and or compass every time I landed. Sent to DJI for a look at, they sent me a new one. Don't need to save the video. Just follow the prompts on the drone. It tells you with pictures of how to

Nice video. I've been flying DJI since 2015 and a 107 since 2016. First out of the box I do IMU, Compass and Gimbal. After that leave things alone unless it ask for one. There's a thing called over calibrating the can screw up your compass. Look... N,S,E and W never changes no matter how far from home. Hell, I'm n the east cost and have flown in the mid-west with now problem. In fact I've only calibrated my controllers and drones one time ever.
You never mention about calibrating the controller (with screen) if you're using a phone or tablet you need to calibrate it. Some rookie started that 50 mile crap and it's not true. REMEMBER N,S,E,W never change

I heard you should calibrate your compass if you’re 50 or more miles away from where you usually fly.

Interesting. I haven't heard that but it does make sense. Probably a really good idea.

@@Blue-Marble-Videos I’m not sure where I heard that. I’m guessing it was on somebody’s UA-cam channel.

If you're over 50, you should definitely get your IMU and your gimbals checked - especially if you're having trouble compassing.

@@Blue-Marble-Videos It doesn't make any sense at all.

It used to be a ‘rule’ with older drones when you travelled many years ago. It made sense since the drone wont be where it was last shutdown and it could cause issues and on older versions flyaways. Now with more modern drones it seems to be an old issue. I must admit I still do it when I travel.
