In 1964, Dickel produced a Star Trek themed expression that was known as "Saurian Brandy", which had a very distinctive bottle that was featured as a prop in universe. I can't recall which came first, whether Dickel had an interesting bottle that was adopted for the prop, or Star Trek having an interesting prop that Dickel commemorated. I've only ever seen one sealed bottle, back in the early '80s, but the empty vintage bottles can still fetch a couple hundred dollars for a pristine example.
My friend's dad is a food scientist who worked at Brown Foreman for a number of years, he helped them with their original release "Romulan Ale" which was a Windex-blue rye. I still have a sample of the original product. I've been interested to hear how the rest of their products were. The packaging and bottles are definitely cool, but it's a steep price point. Cool to see it make it's way to the SLB Basement Bar.
The coin has some special uses. Directly from the website: Much like the saucer of the USS Enterprise-D, known for its detachability, the zenith of the Captain’s Table topper features a detachable magnetic metal medallion. This exclusive coin is more than collectible; it also acts as a key to unlock an array of special privileges including access to private tastings and exclusive virtual distillery experiences.
Thank you Trenton for introducing me to the Captains table private reserve. I went to the site and signed up for the release of batch #3 to be notified in May of 2024. I am a Treckie and grew up in the late 60's and 70's watching every episode of the original Star Trek Starring Wikkiam Shatner as Captain Kirk and Leinard Nemoy as Spock Deforest Kekky as " Bones" Dr. McCoy, James Doohan played Scotty the ships Engineer, Lieutenant Nyota Uhura played by Nichelle Nichols was the Ship's Communications Officer. Yes i am a Treckie that love Bourbon!
Star Trek trivia: "Beam me up Scotty" refers to the method of transport that transforms a person into particles at the atomic level and reassembles them at another location. This idea was thought-up as a way to save on production costs and to help give more time for the story given the limited air time for a TV show. And Scotty was the chief engineer on the main starship "Enterprise" in the series. Also, the blue shirt from the series was to signify crew members in the scientific and medical fields, including chief medical officer Leonard McCoy and the Science and First Officer, Mr. Spock (the character with the pointed ears from the planet Vulcan). The lead character of the Star Trek show (the original series from 1969) was Captain James T. Kirk, played by Canadian actor William Shatner, who is now 93 years old and who in October 2021 flew into space for real for the first time on the Blue Origin space shuttle.
The package resembles a transporter pad. So 'Beam me up Scotty' captures the essence of the packaging. Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds an acorn. 🙂 Of course, a Replicator could have been used too. But then that calls into question the issue of Provenance. 🧐

I’m 40 so I came up watching Star Trek the Next Generation with captain Picard. Love that show! But would never spend $347 for a bottle. Great episode!
This product is not really about the whiskey so much as it is about the packaging and the bottle. I’d love to have that bottle on display as a conversation piece (that I could fill with the whiskey of my choice, but the price is way to high.
I have been to this place a few times, about an hour from my house. Nice old guy that owns it, 200 year old pot still from France, everything is in small oak barrels. He has good Rye's but all of his stuff is expensive. Very small operation.
as a parent of a 20 year old, I can say that I am surprised daily with the things my son doesn't know or has never heard of. I am always suprised that there would be no reference on social media to these things and I feel like the next generation (dad joke) are missing out and never comprehending the references
The transporter was how they would travel from the Enterprise to another location. The bottle's case is a reminder of the spot they would stand on before they were "beamed." 😅 Please watch a few of the original TV episodes. For a movie, Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan is a great watch.
Cool bottle. I have a bottle of James T. Kirk bourbon I received as a gift a few years ago. It's a 12 year old 90 proof bourbon sourced from a Tennessee distillery, so I assume it's Dickel. Which is why it's still unopened! 🤣
The number 47 is a very common number mentioned in the Star Trek franchise. That’s where they got the price $347. “Beam me up Scotty” was never actually said in TOS, the correct quote is “Scotty, Beam me up”. I’m glad there’s a credible bourbon in that beautiful packaging. Cheers 🖖
My wife and I are Star trek fans and the novelty of having the bottle and packaging would be worth it. Have paid close to that for Bourbon that I didn't think was worth the price. So what the heck. :)
He needs a red outfit. Those were usually expendables during the episode, lol. That being said, I'm glad you are in a blue shirt and "Live long and prosper". In the Trekkie universe there is also Romulan Ale and Thorium brandy.
Just saying a true trekkie would know…"Beam me up, Scotty" the exact phrase was never said in any Star Trek show or movie. In Star Trek: The Animated Series, Kirk says "Beam us up, Scotty," which is the closest he ever comes to uttering the famous saying. 😉 🖖✨Also I WANT THAT BOTTLE! 😂🥰🥰🥰
I just signed up for a chance to buy the bottle, via lottery. Unfortunately it looks like this yrs batch is only 92 proof, but who knows, may still be decent. My dad, his name is actually Kirk, is a huge Trekkie and I would say I prefer Trek to SW. At the very least it could be a nice conversation piece. Cheers fellas
It is OUR destiny to make this video! The Trekkie whiskey channel! We have got to get our hands on this bottle, no matter how good or horrible it is for the price haha!
I don’t know if it’s the reference, but the last episode of Season Two of the original series refers to an off-screen character named “Agent 347.” Batch two … season two 🤷♂️
I have seen collectibles that increase in value, and I have seen some that drop back down. The big factor seems to be how many / how much is produced. This being a consumable it might become rarer as some people open it and drink it.
Holy cow! LLAP! "Who's Scotty?" Argh! Mr. Spock but he doesn't have the Ears. I am an OG Trekkie/Trekker, but I understand the Star Trek maniac comment. LOL At $347, I'm going to get a big bottle of Jim Beam and just have a pour in my Trek glass.
347 has multiple things to do with Star Trek, it was the number of a couple of different star ships including one of the federation and also a star base! I googled 😆 🤣 😂 😹
As you guys are northern Indiana guys (as am I...I live in Bourbon, In believe it or not) have you ever tried a Meijer's store pick from 1205 Distillery in Indy. It has now changed its name to Four Fingers distillery. Anyway, to my surprise, the bourbon was really good! Just askin'...
I guess it was only a matter of time before we saw a Star Trek bourbon. Completely ridiculous, but I want it. I’ll also take Trenton’s Davey Jones wig.
Dr. McCoy would be the closest resemblance. He would need the pointed ears to be Spock. "Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a Distiller!"
That is who I thought he looked like as well!
"Bones" 😃
😂
Awesome quote lol
Chekov
Trenton's lack of pop culture knowledge probably shouldn't surprise me anymore, yet I continue to be shocked 😂
That’s what growing up in corn fields in NW Indiana does to a person. I made it out at 10 years old and was lucky.
😅😅
No pop culture and no sports makes me really curious what his interests are
Lack of knowledge in general. 😂
Never heard of”Beam me up Scotty” but he’s dressed up as a Star Trek guy, ok ! Luckily he knows bourbon!
I'd think Trenton is more a red shirt...

47 is a favorite number to use as a gag on the shows. The $300 comes from Quark. Trekkies will get that one…

200 Bottles available and you have to get on a list to have a chance to purchase from what I can remember reading.
To geek out, the reason they did that “beaming” was due to the fact it would have been more difficult to show the ship landing on each planet.
I have batch #2 bottle #62. For sure not worth the price unless you are a big Star Trek fan. You should review their Romulan Ale Rye Whiskey.
You guys would have been shocked at the contributions had you put that bottle up for charitable bids.
