No tater hating here but as a lifelong cat lover, Tara is not happy. Opie is young enough not to have tasted freedom but Tara has and doesn’t want to be confined, that’s not going to go away. For clarity, the reason I know that is because I was forced to move property and my Squidgy didn’t have free access to the outdoors and was thoroughly depressed the entire time. I currently care for a stray at work and she refuses to be confined too, I have to leave the door ajar even in winter so she can get out on her terms. Freedom is irresistible once you’ve had a taste.
Eric, Randy is sooo happy with the e-bike you gave him. I just saw his video, he can't stop telling people about it. Thank you for all you do, be careful in Cali. and we will see you soon.
I came acrossed this guy named Ainsley Mcleod who wrote a book called The Old Souls Guidebook. He believes in reincarnation and what really caught my attention was his belief that our beloved pets are reincarnated over and over into our lives and sometimes even within our current lives. So wouldnt it be a cool thought that Jax man has already returned in Oppie to be with you again because he knew you needed him? The author told a story about his cat and how the cat picked him. It reminded me of a story you told long ago in a very old video about Jax and how you believe Jax picked you, Eric. As an owner of two pomeranians that I adore and love like family this thought about our pets gives me comfort. Maybe it will give you some too as I know the loss of Jax still hurts.
I grew up in California, but I’ve lived in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Then I moved back to California. There are negatives in all states, but I still love California the most. Yeah it’s expensive and crowded, but We have mountains, beaches, and deserts. Where I live you can visit all three in one day. You just can’t beat the weather.
@@michaelcohen9363 My brother does a yearly fund raising deal (Veterans with head injuries) where they snow ski in the morning (Big Bear), waterski in the afternoon (?) , then hit Huntington beach for Surfing. Welcome to California! After Havasu, Quartzsite and Yuma, we did Joshua Tree, casino camping at Tortoise Rocks, we have moved on to Santa Cruz to start our Pacific Coast Highway trip in the southern direction. Great video as usual. I bought my first RV when I was stationed in San Diego back in the late 1990s. I know a lot has changed since then, but there used to be a free dump site and free water hook up at Mission Bay Park. Also, there is a beautiful place to park at an area called Sunset cliffs...you park right on the cliff but are in a residential area. I used to overnight stay there and surf first thing in the morning...however, I doubt you can overnight park there now. I also recommend an area called Blacks beach. Awesome place to explore.Overnight parking is hard in SD; the police will run you off pretty much everywhere. There is an RV park...reasonably price compared to most called Sunland RV park, and it is right off the HWY8. It's probably the cheapest place to stay. It's where we stay when we take our RV to SD. I got tired of trying to find a place to "stealth camp." Never failed, whenever I found a place... Even in an industrial area, the police were always telling me to leave at 3am. Have fun, San Diego is a beautiful city with lots to do. Miss living there.
You'll like SD Eric it's very nice. You would like the coastal route too, very beautiful. I was born and raised in California and loved it and miss it. The people running the state, school's, the courts and so on I just couldn't take all the mistreating of the people and corruption so I left. I still have family there and they're all leaving the state this year as well. It breaks my heart to see all the corruption just not in the USA, but world wide!!!
Born and Raised there too. Lived the first 30 years of my life in Ventura County. Despite having a pretty good career there, was not exactly living easy. So I left, and quality of life went way up immediately. Retired at 52 and wife at 48, and have been traveling all over the US finding amazing places. We still go to visit CA often, Disney, Knott's, Magic Mountain, Universal, and to visit friends that still live there, but I would never move back. The biggest difference between us and my old friends that are still there, is that they may be working until they are 70+ years old... We are all in our early 60's and they can in no way retire yet, and feel trapped there due to their careers. I am really looking forward to this upcoming adventure. Thank you for all that you share. Aloha & Stay Safe. Oh....I think Opie will be at a healthy weight as he has a lot of spunk & energy. 😻😻
I love sunshine too. I think Opie could easily go 20lbs but you would have to work hard at it. You want him to look beefy. He is a sweetheart. I love Tara too. She’s pretty.
I'd say maybe 12lbs. You have him on a scheduled eating plan so he doesn't get overweight and he was also neutered early (sometimes kitties are smaller from that). He is such a sweetheart ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ . He is blessed to have you and you are blessed to have him. Love.
Eric love your channel, there is a Lend a hand folding handle I think it’s called that we have on our bumper pull for the reason of 2 dogs that can pop screen open. You push it up and fold it over your screen door and problem was solved but would not help you going down the road, on another video Opie pulled the handle and got door open while you were filming. I’m sure you have noticed them and they on other trailers

Atlas Obscura has a lot of other places to visit. Opie'll probably top out at 10-12 lbs. HUGZ ~db
15 lbs. Lived in SoCal for 13 years -- that was more than enough. Glad it's agreeing with you though! That door situation was scary! Glad it happened on a back road!!
One thing, Eric…as a born and bred Californian that escaped 36 years ago…(some family still there)…enjoy yourself, but please PLEASE watch your back. Keep eyes & ears on 360 situational awareness. I know whereof I speak from SoCal, MidCal & NorCal…recent. Best wishes, have protection & stay safe. (Not fear mongering…factual.)
He was also one of the founders of the United States camel corps that's another reason why they brought camels over here try and do a camel core even though at one time camels used to be native here in the United States especially out west that was a long time ago
Stay safe in California Eric. Opie is going to be 20 lbs but look bigger since he has ALL THAT FUR! Love those fur babies :) Can’t wait for a Disneyland Vlog !!!! :)
Hey Eric, I met you in quartzsite. California is a beautiful! Just very expensive. Good luck on your adventures. I think Opie will get at least 15#. I believe us Northwesterners great really really tired of the rains. And last year, I swear everywhere you went, the rains followed. I wish you would have come to the NW last summer. You could have brought a bunch of rain to the wildfires. 😉 I know how you feel about the rains. It’s why we snowbird.
Gas is NOT $5 per Gallon in CA! Averages are way lower! Only very few are above $5/gallon ... usually in Downtown SF where there are only a few stations. Today, Gas Buddy is showing Los Angeles is $4.25-4.39 today. Calexico on Hwy 8 is showing $4.05 - $4.99 (at 2 Chevrons) ... most all are under $3.50! Gas in San Jose, CA was about $4.60 in many stations, now but you can find $4.15 at Costco if you are a member and some cheaper stations around $4.20's.
Safe travels Eric, the gray is starting to show...the tat looks great. Thanks for the hard work...wish we could be a patron but retired life budget doesn't allow. If we want to live it like we should. FYI we have rental spots in Silver Springs Florida. If you ever come our way let me know. It'll be a deal you can't refuse. Thanks again to a friend yet to meet.
I hope you enjoy California. Wile in San Diego you should head up to La Jolla and go up in a Para glider. There is a solid glass house you get to fly close to, or at least their use to be 20 years ago since I have been there.
Have a great time in California. We had fun meeting you and chatting when you stopped there at the hot springs. We are at Senators Wash now and yes it is crowded. But we found a decent spot. Safe travels.
Opie is so special ....his personality is sweet! Tara is more reserved.....but she is sweet in her own way! The sunshine just makes us feel better.....I grew up in Pirtland Or. area and have webbed toes!! I spend Winters in So. AZ...and some summers!...had enuf rain and gloom!! Enjoy your Calif. excursion....looking forward to your videos!
Yay!🥳 Finally coming to our beloved state! We live 15 minutes from “Mickey Mouse land.” Twenty five minutes from Newport beach 🌴. Gotta say CA is the best state … in my humble opinion 😉
I think you were meant to have Opie to help you deal with the pain..Tara loves you too, but that Opie he's something else..❤️

If you are coming to Montana please warn me ahead of time so we can hook up for a few minutes/hours/whatever. (Butte)
My dog hugs me. Nothing better!
Great video thank you!
Now you are the only one who is heading into Cali everyone else is fleeing.
Sasnak had a video on Hi Jolly
Stay safe in California Eric. Opie is going to be 20 lbs but look bigger since he has ALL THAT FUR! Love those fur babies :) Can’t wait for a Disneyland Vlog !!!! :)
You have lots of fun in California. I'm from California, Riverside County, but now live in South Carolina. Kisses for the kitty's
Gas is expensive in California. I'm in the San Diego area today and found gas on Gasbuddy at Costco for $4.29 so not horrible
Got no Costco card required 😒
Hey Eric, I met you in quartzsite. California is a beautiful! Just very expensive. Good luck on your adventures. I think Opie will get at least 15#. I believe us Northwesterners great really really tired of the rains. And last year, I swear everywhere you went, the rains followed. I wish you would have come to the NW last summer. You could have brought a bunch of rain to the wildfires. 😉 I know how you feel about the rains. It’s why we snowbird.
It seems like you had a great time in Arizona this winter, Eric. Nice to have had so many friends there.
Love the kitties!
Yes indeed! The southwest was very refreshing!
Opie is one smart kitty!
You are so cute with opie…you sweet softie!!!
Glad you found a spot there. I imagine it will start thinning out here soon also.
Bud light tastes sweeter than Busch light to me.
Hi Eric, Here I sit watching the game at Old Rincon... absolutely beautiful..
👍🏼 beware of May Grey and June Gloom in the San Diego area. Happy Trails!
That tattoo of Jax is perfect
We also so enjoy all this sunshine. We also enjoy Busch Light😁😁❤️❤️
Safe travels to California.
Opie is so special ....his personality is sweet! Tara is more reserved.....but she is sweet in her own way! The sunshine just makes us feel better.....I grew up in Pirtland Or. area and have webbed toes!! I spend Winters in So. AZ...and some summers!...had enuf rain and
gloom!! Enjoy your Calif. excursion....looking forward to your videos!
Opie is a love bug. That's the kinds cat I need. I have had multiple Tara additude types. I gave up. I need an Opie type.
Opie`s size? You`re gonna need a bigger boat!
I live in Arizona and love the desert! 🌵
Tara has my vote for Miss March.😀
Kitties are so cute. You will love San Diego. Anaheim Disney land is wonderful too. Drive Tater and gas won’t be a issue. Have fun.
Go to Ventura Beach for sure. I plan to get to Santa Monica pier later this year before heading back to Washington.
Yay!🥳 Finally coming to our beloved state! We live 15 minutes from “Mickey Mouse land.” Twenty five minutes from Newport beach 🌴. Gotta say CA is the best state … in my humble opinion 😉
I'm glad you're feeling good about your trip and feeling good in general. Stay well and happy.
Hooray!!!! Thanks for all the kitty time! I think you have an orange dog!!😁
Looks to be a great adventure. Look forward to watching.
