If I had my eyes closed it would be like me listening to my own grandmother, us Italians share such a rich history here in the United States. This love goes far beyond politics which have historically differed over the years (Democrat and Republican). I personally disagreed Politically with Mario Cuomo on many of the issues when he was Governor, but always loved him and his lovely wife Matida, because to me they were family, and families don't always see eye to eye. The Cuomo family is the the Italians in this country what the Kennedy's were to the Irish. God Bless them.

doesn't mean they can't be proud of their heritage. same can be said of any ethnicity that initially immigrates to the states and the more generations that are born / raised in the states. the language fluency eventually dies out
