4:00 This was definitely the line I've been looking for. I remember having a basketball Genesis game at 3 years old. And I thought they said "Doh Dorito!" or "Doh Ariba!".
I have been saying this since the differentiation between the current games and the early games, but the early gaming commercials are way better and invigorating than the games.
I still remember in the '90s playing NBA Jam at a donut shop near my Jr High School. Every morning before school started people would crowd around the arcade machine. I will put my quarters on the screen to wait for my turn to play at least 2 quarters of the basketball game. Time passed fast and the bell was about the ring so I gave my game to a guy there. Sometimes I ditched school 😂😂😂
I wonder how many days of my life I spent playing this game (if I could somehow add up all the hours I spent playing it, particularly in the fiercest of rivalries with friends). Lol. Such wonderful memories.
Well I’m nearly 40 just found the old sega genesis ordering this on Amazon and challenging my older brother to finish or tournament rivalry from the 90s
That was usually the case with Genesis versions of multiplatform games. Might've had something to do with SNES versions requiring more memory to do both, or something. I dunno.
Will say, real interesting you chose Bulls to do a Long play instead of The Jazz. Only issue with this is that the creator made it so that Bulls can't make many last second shots and against the pistons, you can't make a last second shot at all.
Thank you, but the reason is very simple, actually. I've been a Bulls fan my whole life. :-) I'm aware The CB were not NBA Jam developers' favorite team, but I just couldn't see myself picking a different team to play.
This one in my opinion turned out to be better than the SNES version. The SNES version had better graphics tho. I remember playing this on a Sony Trinitron TV. Oh man that looked crystal clear!!!
Hey thanks mate, I very much appreciate your support! If I have to choose, my favorite version is probably the arcade one... Fondest memories! ❤️ Ps. Happily subscribed back!
@@RetroGamingLoft I like The Arcade Game Version as well despite it’s not that easy to shatter the backboard hoop though. Also thanks for subscribing me!
I’m playing it right now on the SNES. The memories floodgates instantly opened. I remember before it hit the consoles, me and little brother sat watching the teenagers play while my grandparents made groceries. Happy days arrived when it hit consoles. I never understand why the Sega had the in game music like the arcade but the SNES version was without music during gameplay.
Yeah, I can't stand that too, but on Extra Hard, it happens on every version with the Jaguar port being the most frustrating of all (cpu scores with every shot or so).
Lol you know I saw a video on this on Instagram where someone interviewed one of the developers and if I remember right I believe he did that intentionally because he didn't like the bulls at the time so no matter what you did they would always hit it. The guy programmed it into the game to ramp up the difficulty under certain scenarios
90s days never die. NEVER !
Forever and ever! 👍
For life
Forever young, I want to be forever young..
At That!!
Right on!✊🏿
Classic game. Best basketball game.
Damn I miss the 90s
You said it...
So do I
Idk why this was so damn entertaining! Like I watched the whole thing rooting for ya lol
That's such a nice comment, thank you so much! :-)
6:10 graphically impressive during its time
Graphics are still appealing today. It's hard for many young people to believe this game is thirty years old.
I remember I use to get the codes from game pro magazine at the grocery store to unlock special players. U could get George Clinton 😂😂😂
If I remember correctly, in this version of NBA Jam, you can actually shatter the backboard.
yup! i remember doing it randomly and couldn't figure out how to do it again
Is O’Neal on the Orlando Magic? Try using him if so…could be an Easter egg specific to him.
I like this announcer "from down town".
I recently realized I still use some of his remarks in everyday life lol, like "Is it the shoes"?
@@RetroGamingLoft I still say shit from this game almost 30 years later.
This was such an exciting game to watch. Brought back old memories. That CPU choice at the very end of the game though...
Entertainment comes first, lol. Seriously, definitely not smart, but thankfully I would have won, anyway...
Spend hours playing this awesome game, good memories
Appreciate your comment, yeah good times indeed!
Best decade of all time who wanna build a Time Machine ?
Me! Where do I have to sign for it?
Boomshakalaka
Hands down one of the best and the most fun NBA games ever made
Yeah, totally.

back in the day when i used to see the Genesis (mega drive) as the one system that could bring home the arcade experience
Welcome to NBA JAM!
Welcome to our channel!

1:50 My brother, my cousin and me with 8-10 years old "uhhh cacahuata" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha, some of my friends had even debates as to what the announcer actually said.
@@RetroGamingLoft the 32 bit era jajajajaja

I can relate very well and it's a pleasure to bring back memories! :-)
Lmao I forgot all that pass back and forth crap that used to piss me off 😅😅
Yeah, lol, I'm not a fan of that either. When it happened, it made me feel helpless.
Well I’m nearly 40 just found the old sega genesis ordering this on Amazon and challenging my older brother to finish or tournament rivalry from the 90s
Ah, I love these stories, dude! I’ve had a few decade-long gaming rivalries myself, lol. Have fun and win big!
Many hours dedicated to this and tournament edition. Genesis was the only version with in game music.
That was usually the case with Genesis versions of multiplatform games. Might've had something to do with SNES versions requiring more memory to do both, or something. I dunno.
Minus that broken three in the corner you was smoked 💯😂 good game
I knew YOU would come... 😂😂😂
I still have this game and I play it with my uncle
That's very nice to hear!
That was a close game!!
Victory tasted better!
“And buy a bucket” 😂😂😂
I was discussing this the other day: In hindsight, NBA Jam left us plenty of funny remarks.
I believe he's saying "can't buy a bucket".
I waited 10:39 to hear that and sir you did not disappoint. I 🫡 you
He's on fiiiiiiire!!!
For genesis, press A+B to push. I remember that lol
Lol, it's my most used move. I guess I push more than I shoot 😂

Best arcade game ever...right next to Street Fighter
Also, a total nostalgia magnet!
3rd quarter ending was intense.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
Good game!
Still a joy to play after all these years!
I really wish today was still like the 90's!
I think about this every day...

The AI is horrendously cheap and broken in this game. Worth it for multiplayer alone!
Emulators always play it too fast, slow it down a notch
Lazy fingers? Click on the gear icon and slow it down yourself.
😅😅😅😅😅😅
Glad you appreciated.

The genesis version sucked snes was better and the music and audio was almost similar to the arcade
For the music, sure it sounds better on the SNES but Genesis don't have missing verses.
