I wasn’t aware there was a dictionary definition to trimming a mane? Many ways to do the same job. 👏🏻

Well what ever happend to good old mane pulling? My old trainer would have kicked me out of the yard if I ever used a plastic comb or dared to use scissors on a horses mane. When using scissors the mane looks just plain awful - like a plastic wig...unnatural. This is for lazy people or people who have never been taught how to pull a mane properly. Might only be an option for a very high strung horse who will not let you pull the mane or if you really are in extreme hurry. No offence right? But my heart aches if I see things like that! Same with all those girls brushing tails! No matter how expansive the brush: never never ever brush a tail! I don't know where all this nonesense is coming from these days!

Iris Ford it comes from research into how the horses heart rate is raised so massively from physically pulling their hair out. I chose not to. This is my choice doesn’t have to be yours, I personally think it’s cruel.

@@hackettequine2059 and by the way using very sharp scissors. What do you think would happen if the horse freaks out or turns its head very fast? You might be fast enough to react. But what of all the girls watching this video? Some of them might not be as experienced. Sharp scissors stuck in horses neck, face, eye or even somewhere in the human.

Iris Ford yes that would definitely be a risk. I like to cross tie the horse to limit how much she could swing around. 👍🏻
