I am a hobbyist and one of my hobbies includes doll face repaints and customization, the reason there is that "gunk" is most likely glue leakage over time, discoloration is also something you have to deal with, when I take off doll hair I have to pull out chunks of glue in the head oof.. I had fun watching your video!
I remember wishing I had Three Musketeers carriage especially, I always wanted to see how the balloon feature worked and I'm glad to Caitlin showed us. (I also still wish that I had the Musketeers dolls. They looked so pretty in their costumes, and the fact that their crowns turned into masks while the skirts turned into capes? Iconic).
the reason old barbies have orange crusties on them is because those were rubber bands. they dry out and then crack, and are very hard to get out of their hair withOUT SMUDGING IT IN THEIR HAIR
I still have my Barbie Princess and the Pauper carriage, which came with 4 horses rather than 2. I unfortunately lost a lot of the accessories, but I've had them for +16 years, along with the singing Barbie dolls. They both still sing too
I had the Barbie and the diamond castle one as a kid and I love it so much. I still have it actually, but I haven't gotten it new batteries so I haven't heard the song in so long. Hearing it made me very nostalgic.
OMG I love your Barbie videos💕💕💕💕 I miss them if my job was to review and play with Barbies that would be my dream job an I'm 18 but still freaking love playing with Barbies 🦄 but I do miss the old Barbies because now Barbies are not as much fun and they're cheap quality . So yeah the Barbies are so much better back then I still have my old Barbies 😍♥️
same!! although i do like the Made To Move Barbies from today, the level of articulation is super fun to play with!! but yeah quality-wise, the 2000’s dolls were the best💞
I had the hot air ballon carriage when I was younger and it was so cool for my games. I had a blast with it. It’s my favorite even if I don’t like the movie
I got the diamond castle one for christmas as a kid and i’ll always remember it as the best ever ‘santa’ gift, thought it was soooo cool, what a spurlge to lil me! a toy with sound?? and lights!!?? and oh my!! that glittery horse😍 i am convinced now to go look for it at my old toys chest and bring it as decoration on my bedroom vanity😂💕 she deserves it🦄💞✨
My all-time favorite barbie movies were Swan Lake and Princess and the Pauper.thr tree house thing from Swan Lake was awesome haha. and I also had the Princess and the Pauper castle. The blue bed was my cat's favorite napping spot lol.
When I played with my dolls the strands that attaches the hoses to the carriage of the princess and the pauper one was used mostly to tie up my barbies when they got kidnapped.
I used to have the Barbie fashion fairy tale carriage .it was the best...... ahhhh the memories. It was fun and all until the sliding top broke off and it has half a roof
My favorites : 1. For sure Diamond castle..for me best princess toys 2.three musqueteers 3. Charm scholl 4.fashion fairytale 5. Princess and the popstar
It’s so interesting how swan lake is by FAR my favorite haha. Like there’s NO thinking for me even, i LOVE the swan lake one. 1) first of all, the swan lake horse Is the only horse to be an actual main character (lila), and by far the most detailed and best looking horse. 2) the carriage itself is so iconic in the movie, mostly during the chase itself through the castle and forest. Can we talk about how the barbie movies spesifically ABOUT horses don’t have carriages though?
i immediately recognized the Diamond Castle carriage, because when I was little, i used to go to my cousins' house A LOT (or at least, it felt like it).... And since my cousins were the same ages (or around the same ages, anyway) as me and my siblings, they had a lot of toys; and i remember the barbie toys specifically... Anyway, i really remember LOVING the Diamond Castle toys, especially the carriage! (I mainly loved it, because I didnt have it; I only had Princess and the Popstar dolls, from what I remember)... I just think that the DC carriage was so iconic, and so memorable from my childhood...
Hey I've got an idea! You could make a video (or a livestream, that would be really fun too!) where you paint the Swan Lake carriage. it's pretty blank as it is, but you could add so much more life and magic to it with just a little bit of color variation! I recommend acrylic paint for that btw
I had that diamond princess carriage and oml hearing the music brought back so so many memories I also had the three musketeers carriage/balloon and can definitely say I was obsessed
I have Swan, Pauper & Island one. I would love to get Rapunzel too. Carriages do look accurate enough, well I guess its 3D modelling used for both movies & toy production, ofc they will be similar. My Pauper version is the one with 4 horses, yes they are a nightmare to stand on their own, but 4-horse one came with a long middle-yellow plastic thing which keeps horses in place. I think I will sell the Island one, but keep Azul (he is hard to find), cuz it is too similar to Paupers (basically they just changed colors, but Pauper looks more mature). Reason why Botticelli looks different from the movie is because Mattel gave him the longest mane ever seen on a horse (its Rapunzels horse - so ofc it needs to have a long mane :D ) My fave is Swan Lake, because I love birds. It also has the most unique design (speaking about classic movies) & its pulled by a unicorn. And my fave horse is Brietta, the pegasus (Magic of Pegasus is the only classic movie which didn't have a carriage, and thats good, theres already too much of them)
My sister had the princess and the popstar one! My personal favorite is the musketeer one though. Loved the movie growing up, and the fact that it changes into a balloon is awesome!
Caitlin teach me your ways! I spent ages trying to find the rapunzel carriage at a fair price meanwhile you found all of these! 😂 thank you for bringing back my childhood 🤍
My favourite one was princess charm school carriage , I would of put it number one . I only had 12 dancing princesses carriage and the castle where they lived and they could dance by spinning round which was cool. That’s the only carriage I had and the only castle. I did have lots of dolls but that’s it.
The residue is from the glue used to anchor the hair into the body. It melts at higher temperatures and oozes out through the hair plugs and sticks to the hair and can discolor plastic. I customize dolls and this is something you see pretty often with dolls that are older/improperly stored. It's a little icky but nothing to worry about! You can use baby powder to make it less noticeable (:
I'm sad cause I don't even remember if I had any of the carriages, the only horse that I had the Barbie was 'Barbie Magical Pegasus' Brietta cause I used carry around it alot
i got so mad when she kept moving down the princess and the pauper because i had/have all of these but when i was younger that one was always my favorite
It seems like a common theme is that they are more purple in the movie.
I think it's also because of the saturation of the screenshots though🙌
I think it has to do with the colors they used to shade, they probably use a dark purple so it makes other colors like blue and pink look purple
I think it’s because the main princess colours are pink and blue so they want to use a similar colour that goes well and looks good with it
Darla Cooper oh
Yeah kinda pastel colors which is very beautiful
The “crusty-ness” could be from something like a glitter spray for decoration. And over the years it just oxidized.
Could be glue seepage, too. I imagine the horse hair is put in the same way doll hair is, and sometimes with dolls old age or excess glue makes it come out of the head and create crustiness.

It’s two now

the reason old barbies have orange crusties on them is because those were rubber bands. they dry out and then crack, and are very hard to get out of their hair withOUT SMUDGING IT IN THEIR HAIR
I still have my Barbie Princess and the Pauper carriage, which came with 4 horses rather than 2. I unfortunately lost a lot of the accessories, but I've had them for +16 years, along with the singing Barbie dolls. They both still sing too
Demi Fletcher Awww! I just bought the Anneliese doll!
I LOVE the swan lake carriage it’s just so cuteeeee
The discoloration and gunk comes from the rubber bands keeping them in the box which has deteriorated over time
Thank you for making all these videos you’re making quarantine so fun I hope your summer is going good
omggg i had the swan lake carriage when i was younger and i forgot about it :000 nostalgia just hit me-
I completely forgot I had the Diamond Castle carriage growing up!! That’s such a distant memory omg. Thank you for helping me reminisce! :)
Mariah Cousins I know right? I’m starting to collect the ones from movies!
My sister is turning 19 at the end of this year and she still plays with her barbies
Vibrant peace that’s cool yeah I have an older sister and cousin that still collects Barbies too so I guess it’s in the family lol
same!! although i do like the Made To Move Barbies from today, the level of articulation is super fun to play with!! but yeah quality-wise, the 2000’s dolls were the best💞
Same here! I just started my Barbie movie collection and I just bought Anneliese from Barbie as the Princess and the pauper :)
I had the hot air ballon carriage when I was younger and it was so cool for my games. I had a blast with it. It’s my favorite even if I don’t like the movie
i cant believe i watched this whole video for half an hour just because i missed barbie movies at 17.
I got the diamond castle one for christmas as a kid and i’ll always remember it as the best ever ‘santa’ gift, thought it was soooo cool, what a spurlge to lil me! a toy with sound?? and lights!!?? and oh my!! that glittery horse😍 i am convinced now to go look for it at my old toys chest and bring it as decoration on my bedroom vanity😂💕 she deserves it🦄💞✨
"What's about to go down?" Epic barbie royal carriage races duh
My all-time favorite barbie movies were Swan Lake and Princess and the Pauper.thr tree house thing from Swan Lake was awesome haha. and I also had the Princess and the Pauper castle. The blue bed was my cat's favorite napping spot lol.
7 year old me is crying with jealousy right now
The Barbie Pegasus movie also had a carriage that was sold! It was one of my favorite toys growing up!
I had the Swan Lake carriage, so much memories came back seeing it here 😅
When I played with my dolls the strands that attaches the hoses to the carriage of the princess and the pauper one was used mostly to tie up my barbies when they got kidnapped.
I used to have the Barbie fashion fairy tale carriage .it was the best...... ahhhh the memories. It was fun and all until the sliding top broke off and it has half a roof
I had the three musketeers carriage/hot air balloon as a child and I looooved it
My favorites :
1. For sure Diamond castle..for me best princess toys
2.three musqueteers
3. Charm scholl
4.fashion fairytale
5. Princess and the popstar
My favourite was the fashion farytale and the twelve dancing princess. This is my favourite video you ever made
It’s so interesting how swan lake is by FAR my favorite haha.
Fashion Fairytale and Diamond Castle are my faves! also you did an amazing job with Tori and Keira’s curls!!💞🧚♂️✨
I just realized I had the Swan Lake carriage as a child and it’s still in my mom’s basement
I remember having the Princess And The Popstar one when i got it i was absolutely in love with it it's def my favorite barbie carriage
so much nostalgia in one video ❤️🥺 now i need to go on a barbie movie rewatch
i immediately recognized the Diamond Castle carriage, because when I was little, i used to go to my cousins' house A LOT (or at least, it felt like it)....
Caitlins video's make me so happy
i never had the carriages I just had my barbies ride in remote control hummer trucks
I had that diamond princess carriage and oml hearing the music brought back so so many memories
I also had the three musketeers carriage/balloon and can definitely say I was obsessed
Hervé deserves a toy haha. He’s definitely my favorite Barbie horse.
I had the swan lake carriage and the three musketeers carriage when I was little, loved them both :)
Reason why Botticelli looks different from the movie is because Mattel gave him the longest mane ever seen on a horse (its Rapunzels horse - so ofc it needs to have a long mane :D )
My fave is Swan Lake, because I love birds. It also has the most unique design (speaking about classic movies) & its pulled by a unicorn.
And my fave horse is Brietta, the pegasus (Magic of Pegasus is the only classic movie which didn't have a carriage, and thats good, theres already too much of them)
I only had two of those. The Diamond Castle one and the one from the Twelve Dancing Princesses.
Me: So which one of the carriages is your number one?
Caitlovesdisney: Yes
Finally, *You have them all*
The residue is from the glue used to anchor the hair into the body.
