@@TruckGuru I figured. your testing proved two things to me, first the SDP setup is worth it, secondly I need the upgraded rods as well. Was this a SEMA truck?
michael hersey you can now get a similar setup. Suspension from Lsk suspension and king shocks and coil overs. Fiberglass is Mcneil facing. Hood is Rksport and I think they have fenders now also.
@@TruckGuru Do you think if it were tuned to something more like 300 whp it wouldn't break? And what broke exactly? I'm looking at ZR2's rn, just wondering whether I'd be better off supercharging the V6 or doing a compound or twin setup for the babymax. LS swap isn't really on the table tho like y'all ;)
I'm obviously not gonna pretend to know about this particular truck as I do not know what tune it has, but SDP's standard compound turbo kit comes with a 100 hp tune, as that is about the limit for the stock connecting rods. By putting new ones in, you can get even more power, but I don't know what the threshold is for other parts after that. It looks like if you switch out the connecting rods (which you can buy from SDP), you can probably run about 300 whp and 540 lb-ft of torque. I'm guessing it'll roll out to 60 a second or so faster than the V6 does stock, giving it enough power to be able to actually push the DSSV shocks in a ZR2 and make the diesel a whole lot more fun to drive. Passing and entering the road will be more up to par as well for daily drivability. And of course, you saw these burnouts ;)
Don't get me wrong, I love what you've done with it and effort to get it done, I just have a problem with doing all that just to spin cookies in a parking lot and roll coal which will degrade the engine oil and possibly reduce the lifespan of the very engine you put so much work into. If you want to showcase what the truck can do how about showing it desert running or doing anything off a paved surface really?
Craig Borrenpohl lol about engine oil. And it had less than a thousand miles on when we swapped and linked it. I haven't even gotten it back. I never got the chance to take it Offroad. I drove it 4-5x never getting to take it out of town before we decided to upgrade.
Who built this truck, would like to see or read more about it. Awesome truck
JRW 11 same here extremely interested
This truck is sick
Sound like modified pickup trucks in Thailand.
This thing is SICK!
I need one of these engines.
turns out its the same engine used in the CRD jeep liberties, albeit lacking some of the duramax refinements.
do you have more videos and pictures of this truck???
Sickest zr2 ive seen so far dam
Rj Dom not a zr2 but thank u
Now that is one bad a$$ truck!
2.8L Duramax Carrillo rods would have saved this beauty. SDP makes a pretty nice compound setup as well.
It was Sdp boss and the rods weren’t known to be so trash when this went.
@@TruckGuru I figured. your testing proved two things to me, first the SDP setup is worth it, secondly I need the upgraded rods as well. Was this a SEMA truck?
@@endless5soul yessir. It’s now LS swap and supercharged. Dialed in
@truckguru what kit was used for an LS swap? I have a 18 LWN one day will need a swap lol😊
Is the front end complete custom (fenders, hood) or is it a kit that can be purchased?
michael hersey you can now get a similar setup. Suspension from Lsk suspension and king shocks and coil overs. Fiberglass is Mcneil facing. Hood is Rksport and I think they have fenders now also.
Why are you selling your other one to a dealership?
Holy fuck I wanna do this to my GMC Canyon
Dason Stalnaker please don't. I no longer have a diesel in my truck due to them haha
nice how much does it cost to do something like this.
MrTesedgar the whole truck?
Yes the whole truck or just the kits you used.
Anthony Stanley 137k as it sits
dang
There ain't shit kit about that truck bud!
what off road lights are those? i love the set up
Hunter Veach check out @offroadledbars on Instagram tell Keith truck guru sent you
Can u use that truck as a daily driver?...whats the mpg?......just curious
Very nice truck! Excited to see the LS go into it. How much did it dyno with the twin 2.8?

@@TruckGuru Did it break pretty quick?
How was acceleration and passing in comparison to the V6 if you were able to test one?
Brett Friedrichsen broke with less than 500 miles. And the acceleration wasn’t super impressive but def better than the v6

Brett Friedrichsen the whole motor blew. There was nothing left but the oil pan boss. It turned out to be very poor tune and weak rods.
Where did you get your fenders from?
So how did the engine handle the twin turbos over a long time

Transplant BMW 3.0 I6 twin turbo diesel. Capable of 500hp and 700tq with stage 4.
BrianNC81 no thanks. It's ls swapped and supercharged. 700hp now
Truck Guru got to admit, that's pretty badass!
where can i find parts? I've had mine for a year now and am still struggling to find anything aftermarket for it
Cody Savant make them. I'm selling the twin kit as I am ls swapping
i don't have the resources to make them...i got to buy them as they come out
What all did you have to do to the motor for the twins? I'm thinking about getting that set up but seen the rods won't hold up
Cody Savant rods are def weak. But I'm ls swapping mine
Cody Savant ii
How much for just the twin turbo kit and how can I order?
Raging Tyga I’ve seen the twin turbo kit for around the 3200 mark!
I just bought a 2016 Colorado dirty max how much for this kit the twins
Joel Vanstrien around 4K not installed. Plus tunes etc.
Joel Vanstrien actually around 5k not installed with wastegate etc. mine is for sale. I'm ls swapping the rado
How much
Thats a cool little colorado, shame though I thought it would be alot faster with a twin turbo
RuggedSportsmen well it's now ls3 supercharged and 700hp
Lol that thing must absolutely fly now
RuggedSportsmen yea that's the idea ;)
what did you do with the Baby TT Duramax? Sell it? if not and you are willing to HMU
Is it all deleted
John Bendily yessir
Is this "just" a 2.8L duramax With twins?
David Taylor it was. Now it's a 700hp ls3 supercharged.
@@TruckGuru What was the breakpoint with the diesel did it handle the twin turbos OK
When you tune them at all. Guys barely tune them and they blow up. The internals and then rods are weak...
@@magnacartasamadams8189
Damn still slow as balls haha. Cool truck though!
Jay P not now. Ls swapped it. That motor was garbage.
Hell yea! That truck has gotta be nasty with LS!
Jay P 700hp now. Supercharged and tons of upgrades
Sounds sick! When you putting up some videos on that?
Jay P after sema brother. Have some big things I can't release yet.
2.8L baby-duramax?
Art Storey started that way. Didn’t last long
Believe it... it really push u so well!
Pedro Valarezo that motor is trash
thats a lot of codes its throwing there buddy air bag code ???? lol
Sad,
Craig Borrenpohl it was. Now she's linked and ls supercharged swapped.
