For me this project brings back memories of making a Pong video game in the 70's and in the late 70s building my own video display of the 1k of ram attached to my Signetics 2650 CPU. Nice project!
Thanks! I was challenging myself to only use the basic 7400/CD400 chips available to hobbyists in the 70s. I've got a whole new respect for the amount of skill and effort it must have taken you to make a pong console.
wow, this thing is amazing. its bent so beyond belief that if I was a little more naïve than I am now I would have thought it was made from scratch. great job.
oh this is so cool.so happy to see people like this one here.he found his talent and he really is one...imagine what creepy sounds you can get out of your machine!
Seriously, how did you manage to do it under 70$ when the gun already cost more than 30$ plus knobs, speaker... I'm impressed but quite suspicious at each moog circuit bending chalenges when I see what people do "under 70$"
The zapper cost two Canadian dollars at a second hand store. cdn.hackaday.io/images/8167521490059848860.JPG I think you're looking at the projects backwards. Most circuit benders collect cool junk whenever they see it free or cheap then design projects around what they have. That's a lot less expensive than coming up with a design first and having to hunt down specific items.
Here in France, every piece of junk cost really too much. It's nearly impossible to find good stuff in the street or whatever... So hard to bend cheap !
For my bends I want other people to make it so I use new components. Last year I got a "Minion" and a tape deck from Walmart for around $40 an Arduino Pro Mini for $10 etc. online.
so cool russell!
This is fantastic, and honestly pretty inspiring to me. Just starting to learn about circuit bending as a grad school diversion. This is major league.
That's how I got into bending, trying to distract myself from grad school induced depression and anxiety. Cheers!
Are you me? I'm literally doing this right now
oh hey eric
This isn't circuit bending. This is wizardry.

74121 monostables .... Did use 74193 for a simple digital playing area.
In the early 70s I even used some DTL chips. Not even TTL :) The mostek top octave generator chip was available mid 70s so made a few divider organs.
What an amazing idea and phenomenal execution. Great work, mate! You deserved to win through and through.
Amazing
I can't believe it!
So complex!
Fantastic
I could only imagine a far future generation finding this artifact somewhere and trying their damnedest to figure out what it was used for.
That’s funny, I was thinking the same thing haha
so good. and beautiful. would love to see/hear it slaved to a beat on a drum machine. SYNC in ??
This is like something from the set of Terry Gillian's "Brazil" I love it !
Congrats on the first place win and enjoy that Model D! Good job.
This is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen...
wow, this thing is amazing.
its bent so beyond belief that if I was a little more naïve than I am now I would have thought it was made from scratch.
great job.
Very impressive and unique bend... great job.
I'm looking forward to your light theremin workshop.
I require one of these immediately please and thank you. For, uh, research purposes
This is really amazing, you should be extremely proud of this.
This is so unbelievably awesome 👏🏼
Absolutely blew my mind man...... your brain \m/

How do you even come up with this stuff!? So cool.
Why can I not do this?
Incredible work!
Excellent!! I like just one this. Very original.
Somewhere in the universe some cyborg race is getting off on this!
This thing... I wish i could do this
Love it!, I swear it Sounds like it's conquering voodoo demons
Wild and weird stuff. Well done for making this..thing.

Incredible!
Ha! That is GENIUS!
This a lot like Lsd! 😂
Amazing!!!! Geeeezzzz!!!!!!!
Very cool!
Thanks! Your Vsystem sequencer was a big influence on this project, and Tape4 sounds amazing.
Thank you! It makes me happy to hear that if something I have made inspired you to make this awesome machine.
you are unbelievable
This is fucking amazing man
Very cool.
