After that, Enzo Ferrari signed him immediately to drive for the Scuderia.
For the many thousands of Gilles fans, try to find some footage of Formula Atlantic, many very talented drivers all completely bonkers.....Gilles was just a bit crazier than everyone else.
I have yet to see an F1 driver, who has his qualities. Gilles would have hated what has happened to F1 I am sure, he believed in fair play, and that the driver was the most important part of the car.
