  • Across the US, experts are turning to a unique source of COVID-19 data: raw sewage. It turns out poop can function as a sort of coronavirus “canary in a coal mine,” giving cities a glimpse at the future of the pandemic - before traditional testing can. To see how this works, we visited one of the largest sewage treatment plants in the country.

      Not me, but I've definitely been yelling at my husband for years now about all sorts of stuff he wants to flush down the toilet that just doesn't belong in the sewer system. I just can't seem to get it through to him that the *_only_* things that should *_ever_* go down the toilet are the four Ps-"pee, poop, puke, (toilet) paper".

    The way she talks about people asking them for sewage sounds like those people just showed up there and burst into the door like "yes hello we need the sewage"

      It’s not that uncommon. Public health do it all the time for quality testing and all that

    And this is how we know we have the virus eliminated completely in all but 2 states in Australia, because we run constant sewerage surveillance in case it ever re-enters.
    Sydney, we know it's mostly confined to just the South West section of the city, but it's reported on regularly on #NSWHealth, most recently a case popped up in the North West of the city, probably someone from the South West visiting the area, hopefully with old shedding, not active virus. Community there is on alert anyway. It popped up in sewerage at a regional car race with 4,000 spectators too, again appears to have been a visitor with an old case, since no new cluster occurred out of it.
    Melbourne still has shedding from the recovering cases so can't confirm if the virus is eliminated there yet through sewerage, despite 11 consecutive days with no new cases.
    The rest of Australia has no covid :)

      @A Vrl That's a difficult request as he has been banned on every major platform and the censorship is getting worse. It was in 2012, if I remember right, that he broke this news. He said many of the same things in this video, only what he was reading was that it wouldn't just be for viruses. Basically, anything you flush will be identified through sensors. I'm still attempting to provide a link or video but I haven't found his show online that dates past 2018.

    • @SleepySeel
      @SleepySeel 3 роки тому

      @no privacy To the whole video. Admittedly no I thought it was drivel for the most part. I would assume they are combining them. But you missed my point. If you know - you know. And if you don't - it really does not take much to learn. Step outside of the youtube/facebook/twitter/msn bubble there are still plenty of very reputable organizations as yet unaffected by Gates money. They don't deny the virus, they just contest the methods being employed. These are serious people like the former medical advisor to the UN. Peace.
