Bergkamp is the only Arsenal player who could do 100 best goals plus 100 best assists. He made everyone better. Period. We need another signing like this.

henry is an arsenal legend,, but imo Bergkamp was greater than henry. hell, i'd even go as far as to say that hes the best in premierleague history. this man could do something spectacular when games were dead, but he also made his team better by setting them up with brilliant vision on the field. my number #1 Dennis Bergkamp
@chubnostics - exactly - Dennis was a #10 - not a real striker. He had a better scoring record at Ajax and for Holland because he really was a striker when he played for those two. It's like the ppl who call Messi a striker and C. Ronaldo a midfielder...when it's basically the opposite. What the roster sheet says doesn't mean much - it's what the player does on the pitch... Dennis was a true #10 for Arsenal who could score amazing goals.
@lauh4rl ...........sure, his scoring rate was poor for a striker. but we all know he played more of an attacking midfield role most of his career(at least at Arsenal), regardless of what they listed him on the roster. Then they just surrounded him with fast players that could run onto a brilliant pass, pretty simple really.....make a run and watch the ball drop at your feet at perfect pace to finish....think about all the players that flourished with him, then floundered elsewhere
@lauh4rl A striker is not only about making goals. But I wouldn't say his rate was poor. Dennis wasn't a finisher like Ian Wright and Henry. Besides, most of the times he wasn't the centre forward, as a Nr. 10 he would provide. Henry would never have scored that much without Dennis. And I think Dennis, without doubt, scored the most beautiful goals ever.
@TheDonCon.......Bergkamp may have been a striker early in his career, but for the better part of his time at Arsenal he was more of an attacking midfielder, regardless of what the sheet listed him as. I agree that they were totally different players........one was great until his late 30's, the other sits the bench in Barcelona in his 30's........one relied on athleticism, the other on guile and craftiness.........athleticism wanes, Bergkamp's technique only seemed to improve. The reason why players like to play in PL is because of the fans and the culture. The fans give you such a adrenaline. There is no ohter competition in the world like PL

Bergkamp is easily the best Arsenal player by far, not even close in my opinion. Henry was a great scorer no doubt, but DB10 pulled the strings and scored alot. Don't get me wrong, I think Henry was superb, but nowhere near the level of Bergkamp. Dennis is a football god, Henry will never reach his level of greatness.

@indivum Sorry, I don't really get what you're trying to say here. You don't need to convince me of the quality of Bergkamp. I've been following his career since he entered the first team of Ajax. I know exactly about his goalscoring abilities and his game. He ended up being topscorer several times. To me he's definitely a better player than Henry & Wright. Bergkamp himself said he wasn't a clinical finisher like Wright and Henry, always being in the box at the right time. That's all.
