A leading female figure in European Urbanism, Paola Viganò deploys, through her participation in the Greater Geneva international consultation group, previously unexplored dimensions for the ecological transition project, in and for cities. She focused namely on the combined effects of urban soil and to collective citizens’ efforts.
Paola VIGANÒ is an architect and urban planner, and director of HRC-EPFL, LAB-U at EPFL, Lausanne.
For this project, she has worked in collaboration with among others Pascal Boivin, engineer, Walter Stahel, professor at Product-Life Institute, Vincent Kaufmann, LASUR EPFL, Luca Pattaroni, LASUR EPFL, Corentin Fivet, EPFL, Olivier Crevoisier, Neuchâtel University and Jonathan Normand, B Lab Switzerland.
This intervention was the third part of our conference “The Architecture of Transition: buildings, cities and landscapes in the prism of the climate change”. Our built environment will be the cause, the effect and the stage of our future sustainable lives. Imagination, precision and agency of change are the indispensable traits of the creative consciousness that will power design thinking and practices.
