Great vid, you earned yourself (at the very least) one new subscriber One of the feature that blows my mind in this piece is the repeated parts, that sound very much like a repeating loop that would be played on a sampler in hip hop for example, to the same effect too. Just musically it sounds like it would be Chopin, seems like it has been shown to be authentic. I wonder if there was ever a plan to do more, many seem to believe that this is an incomplete piece, which could very well be. But it’s beautiful, I find, the way it is, with all its “what could have been”s that end up adding to the drama. Because of that it almost feels like an elusive, ghostly apparition of Chopin himself, one that you can only catch a quick glance at. It makes it dramatic, poetic, and so Chopin
Thank you. I marvel at your precise control on the piano and one day hope to have half the facility. In the meantime tons of inspiration to be found on your channel. God Bless you good sir :}
Great analysis, of course, especially relating it back to Chopin with the right amount of skepticism! And fantastic interpretation in your playing like always. (I have been avoiding this piece myself because my skepticism is very high.)
It feels like it could be the skeleton of a more complex chopin composition, even if that's not the purpose it was written. Whatever it is it's a pretty little piece and I'm glad we found it 🙂
Alan Walker made a case that Julian Fontana may have had something to do with it. Of course, we may never know the truth. Even if Chopin did write this, it's only a scrap of a work in progress, not a lost masterpiece.
It was my composition teacher Robin who found this waltz!! It turns out I had the privilege to be one of the first to play it! 🔥🔥
Wow, that's awesome!
@@MakoDMusic That is incredible! Give your teacher a warm thanks from me, please!
@@jtbasener8740 I will once lessons start again next year!!
It's a real pleasure to hear a pianist of your caliber perform this little gem so wonderfully.
Unrelated to Chopin: i just want to say that I love your videos. You enrich my experience as a pianist
Thank you so much! :)

Lovely both analysis and interpretation, as always!! Thanks for this post❤
Just started playing it so both of us may be a little late. It is absolutely wonderful! I cannot get enough of this piece. Could play it all day long.

Yes, I saw his argument after I made my video. Good counterpoint from a sceptic!
Give AI chance we will be discovering lot more music from the past maestros.
haha we'll see...
