Today I’m excited to finally give you the full review of “The Who Is God?” Bible Curriculum.
    ~Resources Mentioned In This Book~
    Who is God? Curriculum- www.apologia.c...
As far as images of Christ- Some Christians (ourselves included) hold to the belief in order to honor the second commandment, we avoid the use of visible images to portray or represent Jesus or any of the persons in the Trinity. So I just try to share when we use resources that do or do not use images in case that is anyone else conviction. I know for many it is not a concern and that is okay.
Here is a link that explains a little bit more of the conviction. raisingcovenant...

Thank you so much for covering the images of Jesus! That was what I keep trying to figure out when researching Bible storybooks and curriculum.

This was such a helpful review! I was going to set this book aside until next year. But now I believe it will align nicely with Sonlight core F and MFW ECC. I’ll skip the notebooks though. These kids will have enough ‘work’ to do.

I loved this review and definitely have this on our “wish” list for the future. Have you also tried the NT/OT in Motion set(s)? I’m debating if I should start with those or go straight into this set. Thoughts? Thanks for the awesome and informative content!

I have not tried that one but I believe that one is geared towards younger kids and this is more middle school age. I could be wrong about that.

Around the 5 minute mark, you said something about truth vs other views. What other views? Other types of believers? Other religions?
Later you said, "accurate." Who, aside from God, can really say what is truth and what is accurate?
As for the translations, I am curious how much research you've done on the various translations that are out there. I, personally, wouldn't use the ones you mentioned that they use. I used to be OK with ESV until I did my homework. Yikes.
I was originally fairly sure that I was going to purchase and use this next year but I'm not so certain anymore. I could adapt it to fit our family but I don't know how comfortable I am with having to do that. Perhaps I could try finding a secondhand copy and reading through it myself first...
This isn't meant to be an attack on you or Apologia or anything like that, just honest feedback. You are definitely right when you talk about being picky with Bible stuff lol I think many of us are the same way haha. Thanks for doing this review!!

Other views as in other religions and worldviews. I have done a lot of research on translations and ESV and NASAB are the two we personally prefer and feel are the most accurate. I think based on the concerns you have mentioned that getting a used copy is a good idea. I have see many on Thriftbooks or FB Marketplace. Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope this is helpful.

Can I ask you about the “predestination” topic you addressed? I wasn’t sure what you were talking about. I have grown up my whole life in church. Been saved since I was a child. But I am just now as an adult trying to decide my own beliefs and convictions. Instead of just accepting that is what our church believes and not questioning where it came from or researching it for myself. (I can’t think of the word to describe that.)

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 роки тому +1

Yes of course. I am so glad you are looking to scripture for the answers here is a short article that describes a bit about predestination and the verses that are used to explain it. www.crossway.org/articles/help-im-struggling-with-the-doctrine-of-predestination/?fbclid=IwAR1z2BLz7CVH8f482k4UOIRebYkx5dHPcaSgSc8iP-46hCYyc4tOcyN4-Qs

Predestination is unbiblical. Only two individuals were damned from the point of their creation. Both Judas and The Antichrist, which are both called The Son of Perdition. Don't trust me. Look and see what the bible says on this topic.
      Deuteronomy 30:15-20
      New International Version
15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

I picked up Who Am I as a possibility to use for next year, but we haven’t done Who is God. I ended up getting another curriculum instead because I wasn’t sure if we could jump right into volume 2, without having done the first. Do you think we could? I’m now considering using this for my middle girls and going ahead and using the 2nd curriculum for my high schoolers (who are turning 14 soon) this year.
