You can really see in these old videos just how much the Queen mother loved being a Grandmother. She was constantly keeping her eye on Charles, touching his hand, and smiling at him. Queen Elizabeth, on the other hand, always seemed a bit awkward and uncomfortable around her kids when they were small.
@Stella Musafiri Ive remember read somewhere that the royal family is probably the only family who's children who made it through the modern centuries yet still raised their children according to 18th century ways. I think that's marvelous in how they manage not to evolve child raising but it has bad consequences on modern princes.
How they allowed the dog to be at such important event how sweet it’s one thing I like about the royal fam. This was such a happy moment in their life, u could see it clearly.
The queen was a very beautiful young woman as was her sister and mother. And in their day so were the then Queen ( The Queen Mum) , Queen Mary ( The Queen's Grandmother) and Princess Alice ( Prince Philip's mother) Princess Ann was a beautiful young woman in her own right. Princess Anne was an adorable baby and toddler.
@enkisdaughter4795 She adored HIM, not he!!. Would you say " He adores I ? Of course not! He adores me, and she adores him; that's grammatically correct English.
Присутствие королевы Марии Текской меня так смешит. Мне почему то кажется, что эта женщина была веселой при жизни. Она всегда на эмоциональном подъеме❤😊
Awwe, Princess Anne has that cute lil baby face & it's almost as if baby Princess Anne was like: "Why did I have to exactly be born a Princess Mummy & Daddy😣?????"
Princess Alice looks so peaceful. Hard to believe King George and Queen Mary pass away in a very short time after this film. Princess Anne was an adorable baby.
Prince Charles, was a typical youngster. Not interested in baby sister, more interested in other things. Love the film. Looks like every family in the world in that situation.
My grandparents married the same year as Elizabeth and Philip, had their first son the same year Charles was born, then my mum was born the same year as Anne. They then had two more sons. I was then born 3 months before William. WTF
With the movie cameras there she was never going to be seen doing that lol. In fact she was actually very kind and gentle compared to her husband King George V who was very cold and a brute at times to his own children.
@@kennykenny275 Did't you read my comment properly? I wrote about King George V not King George VI - read it again, and you will see I never mentioned King George VI.
You obviously don't know very much about HM Queen Mary, do you? She has a smile on her face not a look of anger as your suggest. Your comment is very unjust to her noble memory. She was the greatest Queen Consort in British History.
You are living in a dream world. 1950 wasn't a happy time - rationing still in force. Compulsory national service for men. The country was still verging on bankruptcy after the war. Five years after the war ended, areas of the country were still waste ground after bombing during the war. People who were gay were put into prison. Divorce was seen as a disaster for someone. In school children had corporal punishment. The list goes on.
I am not surprised that His Royal Highness Prince Charles when he was small would go to Queen Mary or Queen Elizabeth rather than his mother Princess Elizabeth. He did not see much of his mother at that time so really so a bond with her was difficult to develop

That's what happens when you raise your children by nannies. They don't know how to act when they get children of their own.

King Charles has said him and his mother always had a business-like relationship, not so much a mother-son relationship.
NOT true. She was holding baby Anne, she couldn't attend to Charles at the sane time. The queen was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother.
Queen Elizabeth was so young when she gave birth
The adults in the room are all gone now, and the toddler is now running the show.
She doesn't run the show. Her brother and nephew do
@@KorpusV6 Anne was the baby in this video. Charles is the toddler. I was talking about Charles.
Even as a newborn The Princess Royale had zero tolerance for BS. Love it!!!!
Really wopnderful to see Queen Mary.
Bellissimo video 🥰
La regina madre era dolcissima con suo nipote e quest'ultimo era certamente affezionato alla sua amata nonna ❤
Love, from Italy 🇮🇹
2:24 Charles is so purely energetic here, LOL.
Prince Charles too cute when small
Beautiful, heartwarming footage!

Heart-warming video. People who say that HMTQ and Prince Philip were cold, should watch this footage!
Princess to queen Elizabeth
The queen is very beautiful
None of the ladies in the video, including princess Anne, is or was beautiful, but l'm sure they had other virtues

@@juliosalazar6924well that is certainly subjective since I find them all beautiful
Beautiful and endearing film.
