- The recent addition of the doomsday heist in GTA Online has really made me realize how much of a grind GTA has become. With paywalls, inflated prices and artificial game lengtheners it's hard to play this game and have fun without modded cash.

ayy imao It's a little of both. Some things get patched but there's still always another way to do the Pac Standard heist again. The various car duplication glitches do get patched or are clickbait to begin with. But there's nothing easier than Pac Standard and you can make 2 or 3 million in a night so I just atick with that as my bread and butter.

For real. I almost never cheat at games. Don't even like looking at walk-throughs to be honest. But GTA online with it's lopsided economy just melts the guilt away.

Me and my friends noticed that on the new heists of hard difficulty, the first time bonus is only $50,000, but on the old heists it was $100,000.

I'm no longer excited for Red Dead Redemption 2. That game is going to be FUCKED so hard by micro-transactions. I hope Rockstar and Take 2 get the same backlash that EA did with Battlefront 2, but people will blindly defend them because Rockstar.

Primal Its not a bug, ive used it on 2 of the 3 heists and it doesnt work at all, they made the AI really strong so you need a full magazine from an assault rifle to kill a soldier and you die in 3 shots from them... its such bullshit given that you earn next to nothing from heists...
The one who they call Mashuo it doesnt always work out to headshot everyone... sometimes you miss and they fall to the ground and when you shoot him down youve wasted half your magazine and a couple more enemies have already spawned and surrounded you

I've just started playing GTA online and you literally can't go anywhere without being trolled by a guy in a helicopter or a bulletproof car with rocket launches.
I've grinded 3 days solid and am rank 22. All the missions are impossible because I have no health or decent weapons or friends to play with. literally all I can do is race pvp online and do VIP haulage missions, only if I use a glitch to get a lobby on my own. Garbage.
whenever me and my friend see a rank 1 guy we will just be nice to them, its only when people are over rank 20 that we will be cautious, you never know man!

Buffalo get a car that has no back windows and use it as a advantage on missions. Those cars can be really cheap and acquired an example can be the rat loader if upgraded.

Joseph The MTXs in GTA are just as scummy as BF2. Sure, in GTA you know what you're getting for your money but you will probably have to pay upwards of $50 for a damn car. A car. If they lowered shark card prices and made it easier to earn money in game then the MTXs would be okay, otherwise I'd rather buy a new game than spend that much.

GTA online took the wrong path.
I remember the base game. Me and my uncle would get on every weekend to play Coveted in order to earn money for our supercars (my favorite was the Entity). They weren't ridiculously expensive, but you needed to put SOME effort into getting them.
Then I remember returning to them game when Finance and Felonies dropped for Xbox One. The only way I was able to afford the stuff was to glitch the Pacific Standard Finale. It honestly felt like I was cheating... But unless I was able to afford and keep up with the other players, I was going to be left behind so I wouldn't be able to have fun.
The fact is, GTA online isn't GTA online. Harrier jets just cause mass griefing, there's always going to be trolls destroying cargo with their arsenals, and with all this taken into consideration, most of the time you can't even make consistent money.
This isn't a nostalgia trip, these are downright facts.

This game has turned into a military based game which you need to grind to be able to use new things just wish we could go back...
Gang warfare was mostly what GTA should be with whacky stuff being a second thought. The Pre GTA V and the Pre Saints Row 3 games had a great balance in realism and fun.

Seriously everyone who complains about the Shark cards are people who do not know how to play the game the game is set up to make money they put businesses such as the bunkers and the hangers where you literally can make $1000000 off your business alone without playing The Heist yet people are complaining about Shark cards just play the game and you'll make money. If making money was Eazy-E in real life everyone will be a millionaire GTA online is showing that if everyone is a millionaire there will be orbital cannons going off planes in the air all day it will be a seriously unbalanced game. I'm happy that the vehicles cost a lot of money to discourage normal or sucky players from having all the powerful features. Plus imagine if you did work hard for that 4 million or 6 million which takes me about a week of non-stop playing or about a month of casual plane. It feels better that you worked for vehicle instead of buying a card that's kick you straight to the end now you have no reason to play because you bought your way to success. I am glad they are Shark cards I am glad the vehicles are expensive this allows for others to have access to expensive things if by chance they are an idiot and/or have a lot of money. Good work Rockstar. Your game is amazing I only paid $60 years ago. Yet I have so much content to grind for when I do get online.

I do have a job. I am fortunate to run my own cleaning business. But after playing my son's account which has nothing, I saw how 'hard' it was to make money. Its just he almost has his first million in the game, no High end APT or even a personal vehicle. So I am thinking....should he get a bunker? or get an apartment for heist? it a hard decision because since he's 5 yrs old, he has no friends to help. I think his best investment as a solo player is to get a bunker so its making money in the background for him...im also looking at the CEO import/export business as a means to Solo millions but its going to take a while, regardless. But isn't this fun, how it takes WEEKS to earn what you need? instead of reaching MAX LIGHT in less than 72 hours of gameplay?
At this point I'm certain he's just 12 years old trying to look smart. Or he's just unbelievably stiupid. No point of continuing this...

The online world of GTA V has always been a warzone. For new players, getting rich means starting a business, such as becoming a CEO. But then you see dickwads with millions of dollars gunning down newer players for little rewards. I guess their idea of reward is ruining a person's hours of grinding gameplay for a mere 2k dollars and ruining their day.

It sucked when I was level 20 trying to complete a motorcycle mission for like 10k, And some guy who's level 1000 who probably has millions of dollars comes in with his hydra and fucks me up. I think to myself "do you have nothing better to do than to take away what little money I will get from this when you probably don't even need it?" I understand that this kind of thing is part of the game, and when I first started I thought "gee I'll probably be able to get the same shit as that guy one day, I'll be at that level if I grind enough". But then Rockstar kept adding vechiles and shit that costs millions of dollars. And then I started to realize what a huge disadvantage I was at. No matter how much I grind, there'll always be some rich asshole who'll be able to start from level 1 and buy everything I just worked hours for in a matter of seconds.

GTA IV online was far more fun than this. You could jump it get any car, do whatever you want with your friends, no restrictions on money. No grinding just pure fun. The airport was probably the most fun I've ever had in a game, was always fun with modders, buzzards, annihilators etc. This is just boring, I don't want to sit for hours bored, gaming is supposed to be fun, not be like a part time job

But Rockstar loves greifers. They're basically shark card salesman. They see every situation where a poor person loses hundreds of thousands of dollars to a greifer during a sale as an opportunity to sell shark cards.
Subbed because I've been saying this for ages. The grind isn't fun anymore, and R* have clearly realised this which is why they've released the Criminal Enterprise starter pack. Also, they don't make content for the little guys anymore; what I mean is, back when the game was new-ish, the updates (like business update, beach bum, etc) added cheap cars and clothes for the less wealthy players. But now Rockstar has realised that if they just add things at extortionately high prices, people will buy shark cards to get it. When was the last time a car was added for under 100k? 200k? Hell, I can't remember.
I think if RDR 2 is going to have a big online, it's going to end up like this, now Rockstar have realised the money making potential of micro transactions and think it's only going to get worse across all games if gamers keep paying, which they do unfortunately.

Rosie Greene well if you think about it. Its not that hard to make money because of heist being available. It just depends on the cuts people will give you, and skill of course. If you can't host a heist you can always join one through quick job on your phone.
Mr. Shoocakadoo it's not hard - it's just painfully tedious. The new heists offered a bit of enjoyment, but, again there was pointless paywalls. Why couldn't we just do it from the bunker? Because R* want to encourage us to buy shark cards to get facilities. But then noone wants to drive 7 miles each set up AND preps, which R* realise so charge 2 mil for a pointless empty underground bunker, which is solely there to take your money before you access the new content.
(I wrote that last part really angrily, so you should read it that way. :P)
Mr. Shoocakadoo It's only easy to make money if you do the glitch and keep redoing the Pac Standard. If you tried playing the heists straight, you would spend all night just to not make enough money to buy any properties or even a mid range car. And then you'd never be able to do it again so you'll be back to buying shark cards. In fact you still have to buy a shark card anyway because the heist doesn't pay you enough to get anything. We have no choice but to exploit the glitch.

It's true, lol. The last good one which I duped 70+ Apocalypse Slamvans (1.79 million each) required a bunker, MOC, arena wars garage to modify the vehicle and if you wanted to really have the garage storage you had maximize storage in your arena wars garage AND the nightclub extra garages. So yeah, 6 million dollar paywall to make 150 million.

I wish they'd just left this DLC as a Single Player Story DLC. All the setups and Easter eggs built up in the single player, it's such a disappointment of a finale.

Even if people buy sharkcards now still can't afford everything in game. 100 dollar shark card only gives 8 mil. That's like 1 thing with upgrades they don't care. Not fair for anyone
Barely enough to buy and paint the Lazer. Yet $60 can get you a whole new game. If I had to spend $100 and my choices were a vehicle in GTA O or a full game, I'd pick a full game because 1 vehicle is hardly content compared to a map, a story, and loads of content and I'd have a little under $40 left over. Heck, Journey is like $15 and 2hrs long and I got more from that than these greedy cash grabs R* has been releasing.

You're not even supposed to farm on such games and this one has taken the grind to a whole new level. It's impossible for people like me who :
- do not have hours to spend every day on it

And trust me I tried. Back in the day I completed the criminal mastermind challenge, basically the biggest challenge available at the time, earning $12 million.

Really, for me it ain't really farming but just playing the game. I don't think a lot of people here even know what farming/grinding means.
A new player who just wants to play more content, just goes in has some fun with missions and stuff, getting the feel of GTA online. Then after a lets say 5 to 10 hours in GTA online, the player has 200k from playing missions , races and other stuff and buys the cheapest high end. And from there its all a piece of cake. Playing all the heists in order and for the first time, boom lots a money. They can instantly hop on to the doomsday heist after finishing.
Sure, if you want to have your garages full with 200 high end cars pimped out to the max, go ahead. But don't be crying you cant buy the doomsday heist because you were too stupid to spend your money on cars which you dont actually need.

They didn’t add a whole new building for the express purpose of making you spend exorbitant amounts of money to try to enjoy new features. So yes, you needed an apartment, but you could have already owned one and $200k vs $1.3 million is a huge difference.

The entire online game is engineered to encourage people to grief each other. You get penalized for wanting to be left alone because if you go into passive mode you can’t participate in anything and you’re a ghost so you can’t have a car show. They give you money and RP for harassing people trying to do their missions. Every new DLC is loaded with weaponized vehicles. I think it’s more than just money driven. I think they’re a bunch of fuckin meathead griefers themselves.
I say that because there are plenty of ways to monetize it without encouraging griefers. They could let us pay for furniture in our houses that actually function. Or avatar upgrades so we don’t all look the same, for houses we can decorate, for gestures so we can actually have some social interaction, for new radio stations, tv channels, stores we can open. The list goes on and on. Look at The Sims and Second Life and the money they’ve been raking in with that content over the years.
Rockstar doesn’t cater to ignorant childish griefers just for the money. They do it because they’re a bunch ignorant overgrown children themselves.

Smite (a free to play moba) has a character pack that unlocks all current and future characters (92 characters currently) for $30 and goes on sale all the time. And that is optional. The "GTA online starter pack" objectively is not. Its pretty fucking pathetic when a f2p game has a much more respectable system than a "AAA" developer. Come the fuck on Rockstar. I used to love this game and you fucked it all up
And look at Dota 2 you have all characters unlocked as soon as you start the game. New ones which come every half a year are also unlocked for free. TF2 system is also fine you can drop new weapons but most stock weapons are better than non vanilla ones. In Warframe you can unlock everything for free including 99% of premium skins you just have to farm stuff and sell it to people which will trade you premium currency for your items, i got shitload of platinum for just hoarding weapons, frame parts or mods.
When the gunrunning came: "Cool, a thermal scope!" Now I finally have my thermal scope about 50-60 hours and 7-8 millions later. Was really fun to run against a wall and wait for the scope to unlock.
(With all the upgrades, and Research only) it takes around 208 hours to unlock all the research items, and 3.9mil $$

I am furious about that you cannot get the online vehicles to GTA V anymore. And that you do not get the DLC cars to your garage straight away. You used to be able to test the cars and see how you can mod them before you would buy them with hard earned money on GTA Online. Plus you cannot just fuck around with cars anymore as they are Online only.
The prices in GTA Online are also ridiculous and have been for a looooooong time. Vehicles, updates, buildings, everything costs way too much. You have to grind so many missions and heists etc for such a long time to buy anything there is no fun. There has been no fun for a long time. You can't just grab a controller/mouse and have fun. You have to calculate, have good timing, grind, grind, grind. Doing your taxes is more fun than Online.

The abandonment of singleplayer is the biggest injustice of this game. Can't get the vehicles, can't get the guns, You have to grind for hours just to get a vehicle that will be obsolete within the next few updates. No sign of that promised singleplayer DLC either. I'm sick of having to buy some damn location every update just so I can play the activity that's supposed to be making the money to buy the stuff the DLC has. At this point all I really want to do is fuck around in singleplayer, but there hasn't been anything new there in 2 years.
I made it to rank 60 in 2 weeks and yes it was not fun it was boring as shit, ut wad fun for about 4 days because of the new adversary modes but later on it gets boring.

I tried to play GTA online like the story mode. I made around $200,000 in about 4 fucking hours. So, I jumped ship and deleted Grand Theft Auto V from my Xbox, and have been enjoying Assassin’s Creed Origins quite a bit LOL.
The biggest problem I have, is that Rockstar is seemingly becoming a hybrid of Ubisoft and EA. Really good graphics, jack shit to do, and heinous, free-to-play micro transactions.
Ubisoft might be charging $10+ for fucking Gear Packs, but at least you get an entire game to play through with AC Origins. I felt the same with Watch Dogs 2 and Assassin’s Creed IV. EA did good with Battlefield 1 (obviously because of DICE), and I own and love that game.
The only developers that I am watching like a hawk is Ubisoft and CD Projekt Red. The only games I’m looking forward to are Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs 3, Death Stranding, and hopefully an Assassin’s Creed RPG in Japan (or China).
I would love if Red Dead Redemption 2’s story is like GTA V’s story, with NO micro transactions in the single player, but without Leslie Benzies, I foresee this game becoming the next Battlefront 2.
I do see a strong connection between the massive change of Rockstar and Benzies’ departure from the company. I do believe that he was the rock which stood between the Houser’s and a lot of 💰.
The main problem for me, is that single player DLC was promised 3 years ago and they haven’t delivered on that promise.
To conclude: I’d love to see Benzies get his hands into another crime game, because the minute I see his name, I’ll leap towards whatever game he is working on.

Dapple Dog also i turned to rainbow six siege after the free play weekend at it was half off. this was right after smugglers run came out. i was disgusted at rockstar at this point so i decided to hop on rainbow. i am straight addicted because it’s a really fun multiplayer (gta DID that), and its micro transactions aren’t THAT absurd (it takes around a 5-10 hour grind per dlc operator, rather than a 24 hour grind for a goddamn building to start heists up)

I have over 2000 hours played in GTA Online. I don't have everything though. I have all the cars basically though. I have 123 legit cars. But do I have any of those crazy Pegasus vehicles from the last 3 updates? I have one, the rocket bike, it just made flying across the city easier to do bunker stuff. It's such a dumb vehicle for public lobbies though, I never used it this way because I'm not a griefer, but getting blown up by it makes me facepalm so hard.
This game is fucked. They fucked a good thing. GTA was amazing when all you had was a pistol and had to do these very hard contact missions because you weren't good at shooting or anything and just trying to get good at the game, trying to save up some money for a car, upgrades. It felt great, it was a good game. It still is... but if you want stuff, either like you said, hundreds of dollars, or hundreds and hundred of hours of gameplay. The last heist pays well for just two... and it's amazing you can do heists with just two, but of course they had to make them pay so damn shit and make them worthless. Even the CMC pays not even close to the amount it did for the old heists. LOL It's like the execs just didn't care anymore and wanted to milk every last bit of peoples money.

GTA online took the wrong path.
I remember the base game. Me and my uncle would get on every weekend to play Coveted in order to earn money for our supercars (my favorite was the Entity). They weren't ridiculously expensive, but you needed to put SOME effort into getting them.
Then I remember returning to them game when Finance and Felonies dropped for Xbox One. The only way I was able to afford the stuff was to glitch the Pacific Standard Finale. It honestly felt like I was cheating... But unless I was able to afford and keep up with the other players, I was going to be left behind so I wouldn't be able to have fun.
The fact is, GTA online isn't GTA online. Harrier jets just cause mass griefing, there's always going to be trolls destroying cargo with their arsenals, and with all this taken into consideration, most of the time you can't even make consistent money.

There is no 'let's make a great game' anymore with the product selling itself on it's sheer quality. That results in nothing timeless. It's 'we need to monetize the experience to maximize profit.' R* is at that last stage and Red Dead Online's poor launch with skeletal cut-and-paste content that showed R* had more interest in the economic system and monetizing it rather than making a great standalone online mode.

Honestly it isn’t the entirety of rockstar. The writing team are honestly doing as good as a job as they were when the game came out, they’re making the heists creative yet based just in the grasp of reality as well as keeping the stories relevant to modern topics as well as having great jokes and voice acting. That being said the heists aren’t worth it despite being fun and challenging.
When the original heists came out the highest priced vehicle in the game was the Hydra if my memory’s right and it made sense, it was a really powerful jet and the grind to get it was worth it not to mention how fucking fun everything in the heist was, yeah it got frustrating but a challenge is what keeps people coming back especially when their hard work pays off which once upon a time it used to and I believe this was because of the guy’s in charge back then.
After the heists we got freemode events, the vip shit, and every money grabbing scheme and time waster known to man and thats because the people in charge were changed to people who had a much different vision for an otherwise fun game with a couple micro transactions for the people who wanted to get everything free of charge which is why we were given hundreds of expensive vehicles with absolutely no way of earning money reasonably in game to purchase these things.
Honestly I feel like GTA V became everything it was parodying to begin with that being the American dream and how people will do anything to get what they want only they did this unintentionally and without anybody realising so now the ridiculous stereotypes of people in GTA V’s story mode have became real through micro transactions in GTA Online.
I have no problem with the high prices in gta online, but i cant stand the 20,000 dollar insurance repair cost. It's like their punishing you for defending yourself.

I spent two months filling up my hangar with chemicals and it was all put inside of a bombushka I had my friend escorting me in a hydra. The second me and my friends took off someone hit me with the orbital cannon. How is anyone supposed to do any money making methods aside from heists now? You can’t. Gta knows it’s community is full of a bunch of pay to win losers I can’t even imagine what it’s like being a new player at this point. PvP is a joke now. It’s been a joke for a while but now it’s seriously impossible if the other guy has any of the mk 2 weapons. I’ve played rockstar my entire life and it honestly depresses me to see what this game has become. At this point I don’t even care about red dead because I know they ruined this game so we would get red dead and never touch this broken garbage again. And how are they supposed to charge us so much for a reskinned dlc? They didn’t put a single dollar into this dlc. At this point they’re scummier than EA. At least EA makes new things when they charge you. Sorry if this was all over the place. Tired.

Saints Row IV definitely does not have paywalls. In fact, if you want a lot of money, they still let you do old school cheat codes. All you have to do is type 'cheese' into your phone. This is the case even though they have online too

I can see why people think it's TakeTwo doing this and not Rockstar. Rockstar has only really been like this the past couple years. Rockstar used to be an amazing game company and i wanna believe that this is just TakeTwo doing this but i don't think i can anymore. The last truely great update was Bikers, no paywalls or anything, you could get all the bikes without the Clubhouse and you didn't have to buy a business. Rockstar over this last year has made me doubt any future title from them, even RDR2 cause they're gonna find a way to pull this shit there. Rockstar used to be my favorite game dev with San Andreas, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption and the Midnight Club series but with this past year i just find it hard to support them now. #FuckRockstar #FuckTakeTwo
