Haha! The air in my Armada stopped blowing this week, so while I was replacing the resistor and the blower, I figured I'd do the cabin filter and to my surprise, the factory forgot mine! My housing was empty and I've owned my Armada since day 1. No wonder it always blows strong! (Either the resistor or the blower was bad, I just replaced them both and it works again.)
just tried it on a 2012 armada and its slightly different. there are 3 hinges on the bottom, only 2 of them you can get at like you showed. but it seems they made it easier, theres just 2 screws on the bottom and 3 when you open the glove box and the whole thing comes out as one piece. theres just no way to get to that third hinge
Gonna do this today! The dealership gave me a price of $89.95 to do this. Ha! I know thats their bread & butter, but I said no thank you. Gonna save myself some money and do it myself. The filter is gonna cost me less than $20. Thanks for the great video!
Bought my 04 Titan with 42000 in 2005. Now at 115,000 in 2014.. I always hated the heater/ac. Never moved enough air. I just thought it's the way the truck was. I watched your video, bought a set of filters and removed the completely clogged original filters and now the heater screams!! I feel like such a dumb ass. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
No worries, we started selling these 15 years ago and people looked at us cross eyed back then and they still do when we tell them they have a filter for the ac/heat. We explain you have one at your house dont you, pretty much the same thing.
back in my day we didnt have these fancy filters, we blew dust in our face and we liked it! just kidding, thanks for the video, i seen the door back there just didnt know how to get it. i do remember having 80s chevy trucks and turning the heat on after a summer of driving it (non-ac vehicle) and just a bunch of crap blowing out the vents
I know this is an old video, but any idea if this would cause a leak on the passenger-side floor while the AC is running? If I don't drive the truck for awhile it can take a few runs before the leak begins again, but I had the shop blow out the line because I thought it was clogged and backed up. Didn't work.
Most of the time the condensation line is clogged or broken. Most vehicles have a condensation drip line on the passenger side of the firewall or floorboard. If a shop blew it out, it may still be clogged. The only other possibility is a leaking heater core which has coolant in it, but that would leak with or without the AC on.
Thanks for the video. Quick question. ..since i have replaced the cabin filter i now have a loud noise coming from that area. Any idea why? Thanks in advance.
Maybe the cover is not completely installed. I would take it back apart and redo. Make sure they go in the way the arrows point so the airflow is correct, that and the cover is all i can think of at the moment that may cause a noise.
@@CharlesAlvear No problem and they are very easy to replace along with your car main air filter. Another channel to watch is Project Farm and he recommends through testing the WIX filters.
This is an old video, so I don't remember if there were arrows on these filters. I don't see any in the video, but typically there are arrows and they should point in the same direction as the old filter. However if there are no markings, then just turn the vehicle on to determine the direction of flow.
Now remove the filter throw it away and put the cover back on. I did that 250,000mi ago now at 343,000+miles and still no filter flow restriction plus it is much more quiet. 08 nissan titan crew cab LE
That guy yeah we have seen that plenty of times, we also see the customers reaction when a year or 2 later they have to replace the evaporator core, which is way way way more $$$$ then the cabin filter, all that dirt or leaves or whatever not being filtered goes right into your evaporator and blower motor

Well thanks it look like very easy to do, I bought the filters about 3 to 4 month ago' I had to make sometime for myself to change them, thanks to my neighbours they told to watch youtube and see where filters are located and how to change them ... Thank God that I did !!! You may watch my videos how to do body work and collision repairs >>> Awesome. Eddies Wildlife
Okay you could take out your filters and just clean them with Dawn dishwashing liquidand you could just about squeeze it dry let it set up and dry , now you can say to yourself I just saved money.
Josh 'n Hannah Absolutely right, many new vehicles use an activated charcoal filter which help remove odors and bad exhaust fumes from vehicles in front of you.
Did this on a 2008 QX56 with no problems. Took me 5 minutes to do without ever having it done before.

just changed mine took 5 minutes tops thanks for this step by step video you guys are great!
Brandon House awesome thanks so much for watching!!
I had previously done this by removing the glove box housing, using the screws. This is so much easier!

Thank you so much for this great video!!
Def. the best one on UA-cam on how to do this change out!

Thank you for this tutorial. Now the oil change shops won't be able to upsell me on this service any longer!!

Thanks I didn't know about the pins the first time I changed it, I think I removed it a different harder way last time. Now back to work for me.
Yes the QX56 should be the same exact setup.
If they are clogged, they restrict airflow flowing through the evaporator and will result in less air from the vents, and less efficient cooling.
Thanks Buddy, it was really easy and the filter was dirty restricting the airflow.
Great video! Easy! Took me maybe 5-7 mins tops after watching this
Is it the same filter and location on a 2007 qx56?
so do these help your ac out?
might be the same location for the Nissan Pathfinders and Nissan Xterras and possible Nissan Quest.
Great video, do all Nissan Titan's have the cabin air filters?

One question I wanted to ask....which way should the air flow on the filters be facing? Up or down?
Arrows facing down is the correct direction for cabin air filters.
@@glassjoe8673 thank you kindly!

flow arrows up or down? you didnt mention that.

does this help the a/c draw in air easier?
Yes, it is just like an ac filter at your home, if it is clogged, it makes the ac blower work harder and restricts air flow
Wheir is the a/cdrier located on a 2004 nissan titan
The dryer is a long metal cylinder located on the passenger-side of the AC condenser which is up front of the engine bay right nest to the radiator.
Thanks for the video. Off to change the filters!
This doesn't cover QX56 2012
Awesome man. Thanks for the vid.

thank you very much!
maybe use a drill with attachment instead of that socket driver. Way faster!

A great help. Thanks
Video should’ve had better lighting and no speeding through.
Thank u for de video
Very nice and clear, thanks.
filters look just as dirty !! as old ones
lol, I'm pretty sure they are carbon filters, which are blackish like that
Josh 'n Hannah Absolutely right, many new vehicles use an activated charcoal filter which help remove odors and bad exhaust fumes from vehicles in front of you.
Wheir is the a/c drier located on anissan titan
It is up with the AC condenser, It will be a skinny cylinder on the right or left side of the condenser.
